@@disguisedhumanThey’ll probably change it, I’ve seen a few sims of this track and it’s not a full throttle turn but the danger is if a car goes off in that turn it is an extremely quick part of the track, I’m hoping they make a few more mods to the layout to ensure good overtaking opportunities and safe corners

Honestly doesn’t look that bad, this one looks like there is no room for mistakes, reminds me a bit of Singapore and Monaco the way you have to go through some of the corners so close to the wall, I’m willing to give it a chance to at least see how the first race is
At first I thought the FIA were removing standard tracks and replacing with street tracks due to tracks struggling to sell tickets, at this point however they’re removing an iconic racetrack that sells tickets easily (circuit se catalignuia) for some street circuit like this. It’s pointless!
It’s a lot faster here than it’s probably going to be, the street sections between the buildings will be very tight I think. Could be like Baku, could be like Monaco - and I’m leaning hard towards it being like Monaco, or the Dallas track from 1984.
This place has like 4 spots that will see guys end up in the wall. The first chicane, the uphill to sudden downhill chicane right after it, and the first two sets of corners after the high speed parabolic hairpin - especially the downhill hard braking into an even more downhill + off camber left. There are SO many places where a slight snap of oversteer will end your day. I was not a big fan of the layout on paper, but this has completely changed my mind - and if they keep this exact layout it will lead to absolute chaos and heart stopping moments. It looks like one of the rare ones that will provide hugely entertaining hot laps in quali *and* essentially high speed games of chicken in the race.
Now for the safety solution they could adapt something along the lines of V8 supercar adelaide track, they tighten that corner with more outside barriers so that regardless how you enter the angle should not be enough for a concussion, and combining it with the nascar safer barrier there.
I have a hard time believing this track isn't modified before the lights go out in 2026. That T4 chicane is a downright deathtrap, the flat out banked turn is going to eat tires, and multiple braking points just straight up don't have enough room for proper runoff. This feels like they rushed to get a design out rather than thinking about the actual raceability of it all.
This actually looks pretty interesting for a street track, I'll be pleasantly surprised if those corkscrew-like chicanes are actually like that on the real thing though
This track looked really nice. And I feel they really think it through when designing new tracks nowadays. Also I like when they race each other and all that but I can also enjoy just watching these cars going around twisty sections doing 200 kph or more even without the racing.
