Tak for videoen.
Ja - den nyeste version of Märklins vectron er blevet markant forbedret. Hygge ;-) Bo
Very cool indeed, I was wondering if there is a way to get a Vectron model train a bit cheaper like on a massive sale or perhaps used. I just wanted to get one as a stand since I have very little knowledge of the model railroading hobby
Hi, I am glad you liked the video. Finding sales and used stuff I would suggest looking on the internet or in your local model train store. Many model train stores also trade used model trains. Must admit I don't have much experience with this - I have heard that EBay is a good place to look. Hope this helps! Enjoy ;-) Bo
I too am about to embark on a layout. Waiting for my starter kit to arrive and plan to get some track extender kits. Can I ask if the layout you have here all runs on just a single power supply?
Hi Kuno, the layout is run by one Central Station 3+ (CS3+) with one power supply. I have actually made quite large temporary layouts with many locomotives using just one power supply. However, if you are making a large permanent layout you might be pulling power for many things I do not on my temporary layout such as signals, lights and so on. This would increase the need for an extra booster. Additionally, for large layouts it can also just be handy to separate areas into different power districts for reliable operations and easier troubleshooting. Don't forget you can monitor the power consumed in the CS3. However, for tracks very far away from the CS3 you can also get into issues if power lines are not directly feed to the area. This does not require additional power supply, but just direct thick wires to the area. Finally, if you are using the MS2, then you have a smaller power supply. However, you can also use the MS2 for this layout without issues. I have not tries on this one, but on similar layouts in the past. How big a layout are you thinking about? Enjoy ;-)
@@ModelTrainFun Will just be making temporary layout. Starting with a simple R1 oval (like you started this channel with) and expanding out to a 3 oval layout using R2 & R3 curves and turnouts. Will add a few shunting / parking tracks in the centre. As you know, Starter Packs come with an MS2 and power supply. From what you say, power should be sufficient to run this setup. Many thanks for the reply and for your videos in general. Has helped me a lot.
@@kuno0802 Sounds like a great little layout and indeed the MS2 should be able to operate this layout. Remember you can also monitor the power consumption on the MS2. See ua-cam.com/video/UuVuEenZn98/v-deo.html Enjoy ;-)
Hi Geoff, yes you can find them as: - Trix 25190: DB Cargo "Das ist grün" - Trix 25194: DSB - Trix 25192: SBB Cargo International Looking at the Trix website I am not sure if there is a driver in the Trix "Das ist grün" as there is in the Märklin version. Enjoy ;-)
If I had one complaint the headlamps are actually pretty disappointing other than that it is nice model 39198# , a driver and buffer capacitor would be a really nice addition as well as a front apron option to replace the front coupling.
Hi herr Kiwi, I was a little mystified by the headlights in the beginning until I looked at pictures of the prototype. I must admit that they are very close to the real thing - also that they can be hard to see from the side. Agree that driver and buffer capacitor would be nice additions. Front apron is rare on models from German/Austrian manufactors, so I would not expect this. However, still a great model - enjoy ;-)
Hi David, I can recommend these new Vectrons from Märklin they are really nice. In the meantime a Dutch NS and an Austrian ÖBB version is also available. Enjoy ;-)
Hi, I must admit that there are so many cool liveries for the Vectron. I would like a lot more of these in all colors - "snälltåget" is one of them. Unfortunately, there is a limit to the size of my wallet! Enjoy ;-) Bo
Hej. Super, super video. Litreringen 3203. Fin forklaring.
Hi Finn, I have in the past hear that Märklin, Piko and Roco generally try to coordinate such that they do not overlap. I believe that has also been the case with the Danisb DSB Litra EB where they have different road numbers. Enjoy æ+=
@@ModelTrainFun thanks, I have not run any marklin before. But I am looking to buy some now thanks to your videos, you have explained things in a very easy understand way that has answered a bunch of my questions about marklin products. Thanks for all your efforts and help!
Great presentation as always! Let me ask you something. Suppose I have purchased the same locomotive twice, so I have two of them, and I have placed them on the C tracks. How will the mobile station react to this? That is, having two locomotives that are exactly the same, on the tracks at exactly the same time. Thank you. [ English is not my native language so I hope my question will be understood. ]
Hi John, If is two MFX locomotives (like these ones) then the MS2 and MFX protocol will ensure the two locomotives get two different addresses and they are automatically loaded as two locomotives on the MS2. If it is two non-MFX locomotives, then they will come from the factory with same address. You have to change the address on the first one when you are adding it manually to ensure they can be driven independently. Enjoy ;-)
Hi Bo nice video. I like the vectron too. It looks really good. I think märklin has a quality problem, I don't know why. You can see a lot of people in fb, who have problems too, with there new loko.
Hi, It all depends and there are many opinions on what brand is best. I like Märklin because it is easy to use, detailed, and works. I find Märklin to be a great brand. Others dislike Märklin as it uses a 3rd rail on the track and prefer 2-rail brands. 2-rail and 3-rail are not compatible. There are many opinions on what is best - in truth I find that all brands have something goo and something bad. I have found Märklin worth it over the years. The most important is that you find something that suits you. If you like German railroads consider Märklin or PIKO. If you like trains from USA fid some USA brands. If you like Austrian, then Roco. However, brands are compatible and the question often more is what do you use where? As an example you can have 3-rail versions of PIKO, Brawa and Roco on Märklin. Some favor one brand of tracks and another brand of signals. I use Märklin track because they are easy-to-use and it is easy to create temporary layouts with the Märklin C-track and the C-track is great for digital and automation on permanent layouts. For rolling stock I have locomotives and cars from many brands: Märklin, PIKO, Brawa, Roco and a few Danish/Norwegian brands. Also consider choosing something available in your local model train store, local model train club or friends. It makes it easier when you have something where you can share experiences. If you have never tried model trains before and want to get started in the hobby you can buy a starter set from Märklin or another brand. This enables you to see if it suits you and the hobby catches your interest. Hope this helps. Enjoy ;-)
Hi Orion, I agree that locomotives are expensive and you must be selective on what you can afford. I will always encourage you to buy in a physical store as this gives additional benefits (advice, warranty, ease, etc). But you can also order Märklin directly from German online stores like www.haertle.de, modellbahnshop-lippe.com, etc. This can save you some cost, but has some hazzle in delivery/exchange. Enjoy ;-)
Ein tolles Unboxing. Schöne Einblicke und Impressionen hast du uns gegeben.
