Something needs to be done about the main junction ASAP when coming from Luton the new road layout is crazy the left hand lane is for left turns only and right lane is for straight ahead or right onto the high street. If anymore than 1 car wants to turn right all the traffic wanting to go straight is stuck and 9 times out of 10 the last hand lane is empty. So many near misses where cars stuck pull into the left lane to go straight over and get out of the jam. Whoever thought this was a good idea obviously doesn't drive.

I want to know who signed of on that stupid junction layout and ask them what the hell was they thinking. But it was probably a computer that worked it out and said person took that layout as scripture.

I was about to write the same thing. The amount of times I’ve had cars pull out into the left lane, in front of me is ridiculous. Stupid design.

The high street improvements were a complete waste of time and money and have resulted in no improvement. All of these people are obviously supporters of the local council and likely connected in some way. Anyone driving though it will see the high street is line by closed down shops.

@byteme9718 I think the central crossroads Is a very big improvement for pedestrians excluding the pots dotted everywhere

@@KofelinaPL The proof will be if it regenerates West Street and High Street South. Pots like those kill and on two occasion I've seen what they can do to motorcyclists albeit not in this country.
I'd love Dunstable to be more successful especially what a shit hole Luton is. Making things look better does nothing, making it cheaper and easier for shop owners to do business is key.

You can't turn right out of West Street as you have opposing traffic flow and no filter. You have to go straight on then go through residential areas of Priory Road, Gt Northern Road (also used as rat run by traffic avoiding town centre queues) and Downs Road so I can get home. It's a white elephant of a junction.

So glad the traffic lights at the crossroads have 'at last' been put back to how they were before some bright spark decided to change them! 😉

It does look good. But doesnt give the real story of the major traffic issues in the centre of town. If only the traffic flowed like the video all the time

If what they say is correct that's good but I lived in Dunstable for years and it was a shit hole mainly through lousy decision making by useless authority body's that did nothing to help
