I'm a woman. I knew nothing about TMNT before my parents bought a disk with the TMNT series for two little brothers who were much younger than me. I was a teenager, I thought this show for kids like my brothers. I usually turned this on and went to my room. But the opening impressed me. Then the whole show with charming turtles. I loved the characters, the action, the music, the opening, the story! It was great and I'm glad that parents bought it. I often talk about the show with my brothers:) My favorite turtle is Leonardo.

I mean to be fair, April is almost never consistent thoughout the franchise. She can either be a news reporter, a lab assistant, an 16 year old, or a ninja. She has a different role each time, so due to her inconsistency, you can kinda do whatever you want with April. But I agree, 2003 is much more faithful to her Mirage appearance.

Which is a damn shame because honestly I prefer this over the original. You can either love or hate the theme song, but one thing I'll give it credit for is that while 2012 and Rise are basically rehashes of the original theme song, this one clearly wants to be its own thing; hence why its my favorite theme song for TMNT.
