I have never actually had a "crush" on a celebrity other than Carmen Amaya and I have carried the torch for her for a long, long time. She is pure fire! I watch her videos and get lost, just melting. Thankyou, Carmen, for gifting us with your grace and beauty. She is the greatest Flamenco dancer of all time.
My Grandfather, Manolo Blanco, who was from Spain used to go to her home to deliver olive oil and Bacalao. He used to take my father with him. We were speaking about Carmen Amaya yesterday. He said she was an amazing dancer and a very nice and humble lady. I have been researching her today. She was indeed AWESOME!

Finally ,you're right. In 1937 ,Sabicas formed his own company and toured through South America. It's only in 1942 that Carmen Amaya chose him for her first tour of the States . I have an original vinyl of both (1958) . Thanks for this rare video !

I think that if you check, you will find that this movie was made in 1936 and not 1939. Regardless of the year it was made it is a very fine movie.
