In SWAT4, I get a operator's report before joining the action, a pre-action report, a general map of the AO, and in some AO periphery I can even get the assistance of sniper, which is what a "highly realistic law enforcement game." should be.
But RON?None of the above things I just mentioned. As a SWAT team leader, the only thing I knew before I got into action was where I was going to shoot, and I didn't know who I was going to shoot, how many people I might be shooting at, what the place where I was going to shoot was going to look like...... I thought that was very unreasonable.
It is now a semi-finished product, and we can understand these imperfections, just like SWAT4's imperfections we can understand because it's an old game. , but RON, as a new game, has taken too long to fix them.
For those player who bought on Steam, it's harder to see these imperfections get fixed.
I think I'll lean more towards SWAT4 until RON is actually done.
You bring up a great point. All SWAT ops have mission briefings.
Very nice comparison video. SWAT 4-ever

Hello Chris, 1) at 36:38 the dev said that mirror takes a lot of performance and frame rate is bad. So, they take mirror away. But they said that mirror might come back in ray tracing form.
2) Ready or Not back story right now is telling by environmental story telling. You can notice some tent alongside sidewalk in some map which depict this city is corrupted or in case of some mission related storyline is Neon Tomb -> Coastal Grove Medical Center. because terrorists come to revenge us because we sent F-15 to attack their homeland, etc. more maps will come and also campaign mode(the devs call this mode as 'Commander mode) and I hope you will like it.
3) Also next upcoming update, I hope you will like ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit) which is basically planning mode in SWAT 4 and you can see map blueprint, choose entry point, etc.
Cheers!
I am hoping for the story in the trailers...
I was playing SWAT 3 this morning just for shits and giggles. I had the element clear the room and as they were coming across doors and hallways they were calling them and their location out. Once the room was cleared, each team member automatically picked an opening and took an angle on it so they were out of the way but able to hold it. I was floored... I really wish some of the features and keybinds from Swat and Elite Force or First Responders mods could be dropped into SWAT 3, because it seems like it has the better team AI. I feel like they needed one more sequel to find the sweet spot for the series.
I need to try SWAT 3
This is gonna be a great monologue.
All the best, Chris!!

Very nice comparison video. Well done!

Definitely keep it up Chris

Also, in SWAT4, you can engage in some limited police brutality without repercussions as long as the suspect stays alive after arrest.
Right
My biggest gripe about RoN right now is the broken SWAT AI and the devs being way too quiet about it while, at the same time, parading around their upcoming 1.0 release.
EDIT: Field dressing was a godsend from First Responders. It made the bigger missions so much more bearable to play now.
Agreed...
They are making the campaign so it's taking a long time

22:44 So for assignment, you assigned Reynold's whole loadout to everyone whereas the TAB assignment is just the skin tab.
Shut IT
I love this 😂
TYVM
24:52 yeah so for these custom maps, the map creator had to design the clearing paths for the AI so they may be wrong.
Got it...
The training section is part of the unmodded game also lol. man how I miss playing this... still have my original Game of the year 2 disk copy on cd after my first copy got lost while moving, cant play it since my pc does not have an optical drive lol. me and two of my South African police buddies used to create a LAN at my place and play together, now 20 odd years later i am the only one still playing video games lol.
We have our own server...
@@ChrisTHECOP That is awesome congrats 👍
First time I saw this game I thought it was a reboot when everyone else kept saying it was a sequel.
I don't think it is a reboot in my humble opinion...
I haven't played Ready or Not, so I can't really comment on it, but I have played my fair share of modded (SSF, SEF, and BTLA) and unmodded SWAT 4 over the years and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
The mods are great...
48:10 another reason why SWAT 4 is more playable is because it's old and does not require many resources to play wheras ready or not needs more beefy setup
THIS! god ı hate how my FPS goes down to 30 from 70 when a shootout happens, it completely destroys my ability to fight back.
Yeah, it's an Unreal Engine 2 game, and not even the most technically impressive one, so pretty much any PC in recent years is probably gonna be able to play it with little to no issues, even with mods installed.
Edit: Recently did some testing with SWAT 4 in Linux (Mint specifically), via Proton GE and DXVK and it ran at least as well as it does on Windows, even modded.
True dat...
Officer Chris. Swat 4's best mission is the fairfax residence. It was scary and intense.
Agreed...
I want to get Swat 4 but I don’t know where I can buy it , I’m a huge fan of Ready or not so looking forward to seeing this video!
Links in the description
swat 4 is my all time favorite game, more than ready or not.
Me too...
SWAT 4 is a timeless classic
Agreed...
Hey Chris, are you planning on uploading any more walking dead? I really enjoyed them.
Yes I am
Order 66........wait nevermind......But really just sharing the postive vibes :)
Thank you brother...
For me Ready or Not falls far short of SWAT 4 (Even the original unmodded version). The biggest issues for me are the reaction times and accuracy of the AI when it does not make sense, and the devs insistence that we can only move at a slow waddle (which drives me absolutely nuts, one of my teams is in serious trouble, and I can't move faster than a waddle to get there to help save them in time), like they never heard before of dynamic movement. Plus it makes the final clearing of all evidence and what ever extremely long and tedious.
Most missions become dynamic in three seconds so yes you are correct on that...
I think the AI is not too good Iike you mention it. You just have to be carefull. But a very good comparison video.

@@ChrisTHECOP Np thx for the answer!
Swat 4 is still the king of all.
But it is dated
I think in current state swat 4 is better than ready or not, but post release I think RoN will be that game.
I have hopes for RON
I prefer swat 4 when it's singleplayer because of the amazing ai(do die a bit much but good enough) in ready or not the so just sucks most of the time obviously they will update it and stuff but singleplayer is definitely swat 4 but multiplayer (mostly bc my friends don't have the swat 4 game) is mainly just ready or not
Agreed...
Ready or Not is still very lacking AI wise IMO, so for now Swat 4 is still the best choice, RoN has a TON of potential though.
Agreed...
to be honest i prefer swat 4 because the ai and playing experience is much more better, ready or not's gameplay is a bit hard, in some areas the lighting is super dark and having to switch on nightvision over and over is kind of frustrating plus the loading is super long, thus making the game less appealing but ready or not has much more customizations like weapons, equipment, ect but in swat 4 you could just download mods and it works. so in conclusion my opinion is swat 4 is better.
I play SWAT 4 with the FR mod...
@@ChrisTHECOP me too
When will you be playing tell tell of walking dead s3
For October
🤔
Hmmmmm
SWAT4 is still worth playing, but Ready or Not on the other hand isn't.
Zero Hour isn't even a proper game, it's terrible with it's identity crisis.
You must really hate RoN lol
@@craig2196 At least I'm honest with how I feel about the game.
There's so many problems with the game even prior Steam launch. Devs also keep making the same stupid mistakes.
@@Yuki_Suoh I get that. But not worth playing? Just seems like an overreaction caused by only a few issues.
@@craig2196 Overreaction? LOL
So you're saying I'd rather suggest people to pay the 30 dollar price point
for a modern, half assed SWAT 4 wannabe?
It's weird comparing two games where one technically isn't even released yet lol
"isn't even released yet"
WHOa guys! Ready or Not is still in EARLY ACCESS, you can't criticize the game's state right now!
Are you one of those people who think the "Early Access" label is immunity for the game to receive criticism? Do you even realize the devs are teasing 1.0 with how the game is right now? Teasing a full release of the game without a single update to the community for months, we don't even know what the game looks like right now and we're supposed to trust them?
@@Yuki_Suoh You listen here basement dweller of the deep. I'm merely reminding you if the context of the game. Whether you like it or not it's in Early Access and it needs to be viewed that way. You must be one of those people that don't see anything past face value.
My issue isn't about criticizing the game it's about you calling the game "not worth playing" I understand RoN has it's issues, but so does SWAT 4. And you can't blame a game for not being finished when it literally isn't advertised as being finished. That's what early access is!
@@craig2196 Again, you've proven my point that early access = immunity to you. Calling me a basement dweller? What a beautiful thing. How about you wake up and realize that this game isn't worth defending lol
Well I agree with the fact the game is early access, we have been playing the "early" access for over a year now. The fact the DEVS live in two countries also poses a problem for game development. I have talk with the DEVS and I have high hopes.
