Germanic tribes (Faun) & Celtic tribes (Eluveitie) were neighboring cultures during the age of the early Roman Empire. They shared many values and customs, however, they also often fought. Pinched between Germanic tribes to the North and the Roman Empire to the South, Celtics fought and migrated their way into western Europe and the "British Islands", where their Celtic civilization had already been established
This is such an example of a perfect collaboration of two amazingly talented bands. Love this song so much! Eluveitie is one of my two absolute favourite bands the other one is Epica. Going to see them both tomorrow in Saarbrücken Germany. Btw I am Dutch and live in the Netherlands, now I am on holiday in Germany just before the show of tomorrow! So hyped!
I know I am kinda late, but still so grateful you reacted to a song of one of my favorite bands. Heard them live once and cried like a baby 😄 I can also recommend the songs Galdra, Walpurgisnacht, Hymne der Nacht, Halloween, Rosenrot and Feuer. There is even an English version for the last one 🤗 Besides, here the translation for Gwydion - tried to reflect the meaning as close as possible to the origin (for the last part had to use a translator). Greeting from Germany ~ The cold winter held us tight But now the wheel turns In old dreams, I saw you When I lay beneath the moon So I am awakened from the deepest dream By your word And with you, the forest and the tree March into the final battle Bound in the cold's grip Your song drifts from afar Gwydion Gwydion Son of the goddess, the Seer In the alder grove, your light Release me from winter's grasp Push the night back Bound in the cold's grip Your song drifts from afar Gwydion Gwydion I was a bee in a multitude of rushes Before I was a caged prisoner I was a string in a harp For nine years I was a tear in the air I was a servant to the lord I was a word in a letter I was a book in the chief's hand I was a glowing coal A year and a half I was the path of an eagle I was a caged bird I was a sword in a hand I was a shield in battle
Faun and Eluveitie are amazing. Faun (the band in the beginning) is probably my current favorite pagan-folk group. I've been listening for years now. They have recently returned to this mystical sound that you hear in this, after leaving UMG and forming their own label. Under UMG they kinda went in a pop-folk/schlager direction for the last 5 albums. Another incredible record from their new stuff is Galdra. It features another incredible singer from the band Wardruna (my other favorite pagan-folk band :P). Eluveitie (the metal band) Is also one of my top metal bands of all time :D. In my opinion, they have the perfect balance of folk and metal in their music. I don't have a song recommendation for them, as I have not listened to their recent stuff that much, since my metal consumption has made way for funk and jazz in the last couple of years. Amazing band nonetheless.
Love your reaction 😀Love this groups sound! They have many tunes and songs that are just as good, different but just as good. I get chills and goosebumps when I listen to them
Wow, I've seen only a few people react to Eluveitie, and almost no one react to Faun. They are actually two groups--Eluveitie are a Swiss folk metal band, and Faun are a German folk-rock band. Like all the European symphonic bands (though they are not themselves really "symphonic") they are fronted by female vocalists. You should check out each band separately as well. They both use a lot of traditional instruments you can't pronounce.
good reaction, to two good bands. See also the band Heilung. Heilung is a german-Danish-Norwegian Nordic ritual folk band. Their music is based on original artifacts and surviving texts from the Iron Age and the Viking Age. They describe their music as "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe".
I've been following Faun for a little while, I like the mellow medieval sound. They have a similar sound to Blackmore's Night which is also a medieval folk sound. (formed by Ritchie Blackmore and his wife Candace Night). I'm not sure about blending the folk sound with the metal sound. But thanks for sharing, love your reactions! :)
Faun are really good, they mostly play pagan folk music. I really recommend you check out some of their other songs: Galdra Walpurgisnacht Halloween I'm sure you will find them interesting (better watch the official videos)
I love this song! I'm sorry I don't know you but I like this video. Y'all are very cool and she is very beautiful lol. Not to make anybody uncomfortable of course lol. Subscribed!! 🙂🙃🙂
Welcome to the world of pagan music. It is another of the genres that are also listened to by the heart. I definitely recommend two more songs (bands) on YT videos: ГРАЙ - В объятиях Мары (Official video) and ARKONA - Goi, Rode, Goi! (Official). Further listen and perceive music as before, You're great! Thank you for your reactions 😊❤🤟
You like it? I like it, too! "Faun" schould work together with metal bands a litle bit more. But .... Heilung made a new album. You have to, have to, have to check out "Anoana" from Heilung. That will blew you away. The song itself......, and the video, that tells a story from an outstanding girl. Her birth, her life with the nature and her quest to become an "alpha" ........ maybe..!
Btw, only a third of Eluveitie's members are featured in this song. Their female singer and their traditional instruments are off. Check out Aidus, their latest. Think their drummer was good. 🤭🤭 Wait for it and for Fabi's voice... If you liked this Arkona, Schandmaul and GRAI should not have to wait. Schandmaul's Konigsgarde is brand new from Napalm.
Hello H and J. Great to follow your chanel. I have a Norwegian group you must check out. That is Wardruna. Spesialy the song Helvegen. LIVE With guest singer Aurora. And the song Solringen. Check them Out
Si vous aimez le métal qui ose les mélanges, je vous conseille Myrath (groupe franco-tunisien) : ua-cam.com/video/8TJt-F_OBNI/v-deo.html Je suis impatient de voir vos réactions sur ce titre ! Bonne continuation !

Faun is one of few bands who play medieval instruments, their music gives me time travel
Faun and Eluveitie the collabration we didn't know we needed.

To Eluveitie and Epica, I add Wintersun, Nightwish and Wardruna. I listen to more than 300 artists on a regular basis, but these are my top 5.🤘
I love Faun. more faun please!!!
FAUN have got so many great songs...but Gwydion became my favourite within a minute ❤❤❤
Hallo from germany! Yes we germans make good Musik! Odin is with you! ✊️🪓🇩🇪

The cold winter held us tight
But now the wheel turns
In old dreams, I saw you
When I lay beneath the moon
So I am awakened from the deepest dream
By your word
And with you, the forest and the tree
March into the final battle
Bound in the cold's grip
Your song drifts from afar
Gwydion
Gwydion
Son of the goddess, the Seer
In the alder grove, your light
Release me from winter's grasp
Push the night back
Bound in the cold's grip
Your song drifts from afar
Gwydion
Gwydion
I was a bee in a multitude of rushes
Before I was a caged prisoner
I was a string in a harp
For nine years
I was a tear in the air
I was a servant to the lord
I was a word in a letter
I was a book in the chief's hand
I was a glowing coal
A year and a half
I was the path of an eagle
I was a caged bird
I was a sword in a hand
I was a shield in battle
psssst it's El-Vay-Tee (the u is silent) Awesome song this one. Have you checked out "Eluveitie - Aidus" yet? that is a trip on it's own!
A masterpiece! Great suggestion!! 🤘🏻
Definitely do that one!
I second that 🤘
I concur :)
Elveitie is so good. You should do more of them. Loved this collab.

Really liked that song. liked the blend of the two singers. strong powerful music.

Liliac was incredible. Their videos are great but the concert was far better than the videos. You guys have got to see them.

Wow, usually I'm the only one sugesting Arkona and GRAI! 😉🤘

Amazing 🖤🖤
Ich liebe es einfach
Your next Eluveitie should be Aidus. Epic is too weak a word.
Certainly overused on lesser stuff! 👍👍
Plz do more Eluveitie
I love both of these bands. Omnia in my opinion is a step above. you gotta check them out if you get a chance
En tout cas, on voit et on sent que ce titre vous a plu ! Très bon choix !
The first part (Faun) is in german, the second (Eluveitie) is in welsh. Faun is pronounced like town.
React now to the band *Eluveitie* the song *Aidus*
*Eluveitie rules* !!!! ❤❤❤❤🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
We reacted to it in our livestream 😊
