Never use Hopps #9 gun bore cleaner whether the old or new synthetic formula to clean your gun if you know anybody that has need to use a bore cleaner tell them to steer clear of Hopps unless they move to one of their Non Toxic formulas Hopps # 9 is super toxic even in a well ventilated area. If you get a good whiff of that stuff about a half hour later you’ll be asking yourself do I need to go to hospital. I’ve read the Material Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet of this stuff. It's basically Toxic Nerve Poison skin contact and Vapor can be deadly. I found out the hard way so don’t use it, throw it out and find another product. Even Break Free CLP is mildly toxic but a lot better. I am switching over to Breakthrough Solvents and Oils, and for gun lube Go Juice which are totally Non Toxic. I’ve looked into Clenzoil as it has superior lubricity for friction wear but the Safety Data Sheet again says to wear nitrile gloves and well ventilated like Break Free CLP so I don’t think I will use those products. I will use Breakthrough and Ballistol which are non toxic from now on and continue to wear nitrile gloves and in a well ventilated area. I too am going the Breakthrough , Ballistol and Go Juice route and will never look back

Agree on the Breakthrough solvent. Used to use Hoppes and some others, but I've become a fan of Breakthrough. Less mess and no odor. Seems to breakdown the carbon better, at least for me.

Breakthrough Solvent is very effective for a non toxic product. Usually the smelly products work great, but pose a health concern. Another great cleaning product is Blue Wonder for carbon, lead, and cooper fouling, yet it smells like ammonia. Use it for those weapons that need an extra cleaning or rust removal.

If you are concerned about breathing in toxins (as you should be), you should be equally concerned about absorbing them through your skin. The products don't stop at irritating the surface of your skin. Anything you put on your skin can and will be absorbed through your skin and into your blood stream. Gloves are a re great idea.

For storing your guns; I mean the protection part of CL"P" I think EEZOX or Corrosion-X are the best.
I'm not an expert... this is just what my research lead me to.
I want to try some of that Geissele Go-Juice. thx.

I know you must have spare oiler bottles since you probably got them from Amazon. Get back on Amazon and order yourself some tungsten disulfide powder. It's very affordable. Fill up another oiler bottle with the go juice and add a few puffs of the tungsten disulfide to the oil. Shake well before each use. It will increase the performance of your oil on all levels.
