For everyone that's confused about this and why Netflix is doing it. It's because they want to make it Oscar worthy. Netflix is trying to get into the Oscar game and so based on Oscar rules they need movies to be in theaters for a certain amount of time.
Probably because Mudbound wasn't made by Netflix. They brought distribution rights and it was release in Sundance hence why it was nominated for best picture.
I miss going to Blockbusters. I never got to be old enough to go get my own card and rent. I missed it, especially since it was behind my house, and theres a Family Dollar and Little Ceaser's around. So me and my friends would go, one was old enough to rent shit. And we go and get movies, go get snacks and pizza and that would be our Friday nights. Yeah of course now theres Redbox and Netflix. But I miss going out.
Iam pretty sure she could get into jk if they wanted to. The love boze. Especially since geo Bart and joe can’t be onit no more.she will be good for jk party.
@@forthewin3910 That's what I was thinking. As soon as i heard they were over i thought Boze would be a good fit for JKParty and as a guest for JKNews because i do like her as one.
@@corynn.l5146 well of course smosh is getting shutdown, they let go of decent members to the crew and instead of scouting decent talent the just went to the local garbage dump and stuck their hand in and pulled out the crap that is know as boze and the other dumb fuck guy.
They didn't even talk about the purpose. Netflix puts movies in theaters ALL OF THE TIME because in order to be nominated for awards, they need to be in a theater for a week. As Tiff said, it's a LIMITED RELEASE which typically means its only for specific theaters in Los Angeles, New York, and other big cities in the US for about a week or so. I doubt its for money. All about the awards, man.
Ok, I actually didn’t know that David was in anything Netflix so I paused this and literally watched the whole movie and now I’m back and still I can’t stop crying. Thanks David.
They are actually putting them in theaters first to help out movie theaters. Christopher Nolan is a great example of a director who refuses to do anything for streaming services because he is very passionate about preserving the movie theatre experience. So Netflix doing this is an attempt to help movie theaters survive in the long run
Well, Disney is going to release their own online streaming platform and are going to pull all their content off Netflix. This includes Marvel, Star Wars and any other Disney owned media.
I know Boze doesnt know who James Rodolfo is but i would of thought that when she mention the sad Tiff compilation everyone else would of mentioned him.
Red box is still around and honestly is still cheaper since it's $1.50 for a day but it has a smaller selection of course. they still have redboxes at Mcdonalds and Gas stations here. But I no longer see alot of people using it.
I miss rental stores yo, I was poor as fuck when I was a kid so I rented all my games and tried to beat them within my rental time. Blockbusters new games are 1 day rentals, newish games 3 day, and older games were 5 or 7 day rentals. The good ol' days.
I'm the type of person who will watch everything and anything in a theatre. I just like having a big screen with surround sound and in general the movie theatre experience is irreplaceable!! And like JK said, some movies are made to be watched in theatre and are just not as good on a tiny screen or at home.
I love to leave my house to find a movie, brings me back to the good times and idk just feels more like a thing, rather than just switching the tv on. I get snacks and all.
I’ve never commented before but I’ve been watching since ever since JK everything most especially JK news I enjoy the episodes with David so the whole cast pretty funny LOL and thanks guys you bring laughter and humor and honesty to just basic news thank you.
Netflix tried to buy Redbox. Redbox fucked up. Also we never rented movies. We went to library and borrowed VHS and then DVD when it became mainstream.
I loved going to buy movies with my parents, I still do. I want to be able to always have access to entertainment, because if the internet goes out you can't watch Netflix or Hulu. If your favorite movie or show is no longer relevant then it is taken off the list and it's just gone.
When Boze said that there was a tiffany sad 1 liner video compilation, she never thought that most of the viewers where going to watch it right away, if they haven't seen it Of course
I knew some people who would get the new movies and games from Redbox and print out the cover of the discs, fold & tape the printed paper, put it back into the case that it originally came in and return it back to the machine... The shit they did hella worked... They make copies of the the movies and sell them to people around the neighborhood...
There was a 99cents video store close to where I use to live. Their porn section was right next to door way into their gaming room. I always seen boys standing around that door acting as if they weren't trying to stare at those dvd covers LOL
I do not like red box, we had a place called Hastings that had movies, games, anime, comic books, books and movies. Sadly they closed and I'm still depressed.
I like Redbox cuz I don’t have to wait half a year after a movie comes out in theaters. Plus Netflix won’t always get the movies you want to see but redbox for the most part has most of them. Redbox also has games so... yeah Redbox is okay
Sometime Redbox I like Redbox because they have some new releases and mom like watching it in Spanish and streaming it like 4-5 buck but some online rental doesn’t have the option to watch with Spanish language
Yaaallll I love going to get my movies from a guy behind brooms and next to a shop and a 99€ it was 5 for 3 dollars but for us we’ve been going there for 3 years so it’s 5 for 2 for us
I see an up and down side to this. Yes, I think Netflix should do this for their movies because it could help out not only the company but the creators of these films. But if you are gonna release the movie on the service 9 days later people are just gonna stay home. It’s a smart move but I can also see it backfire.
For everyone that's confused about this and why Netflix is doing it. It's because they want to make it Oscar worthy. Netflix is trying to get into the Oscar game and so based on Oscar rules they need movies to be in theaters for a certain amount of time.
I came here to say that. Thanks 😎
And on top of that, they've already been doing it for years, i.e. Beasts of No Nation (2015).
Annihilation definitely should be Oscar worthy. Although I guess that one wasn't a Netflix Original huh, just got exclusive distribution there
Probably because Mudbound wasn't made by Netflix. They brought distribution rights and it was release in Sundance hence why it was nominated for best picture.
oh god but they put out some real garbage though
omg y'all delete this!! i applied to netflix!!!!!!!!

People use both Redbox and Netflix lol not all movies are on Netflix especially the new movies.
Especially the good ones too
i just look at redbox cause that's how i know which movies have high quality rips online available
when my dad use to own a video store . . . the porn section was what kept him in business for a long time
Nice
wow.
Daaayuuum. The hustle

Ummm couldn’t people just wait for it to come out on Netflix? Why go to the theaters? It seems like they’re going backwards
their doing it because they cant win the awards unless its been in theaters for a certaint amount of time

YES!!

Ok, I actually didn’t know that David was in anything Netflix so I paused this and literally watched the whole movie and now I’m back and still I can’t stop crying. Thanks David.
Can y'all bring Drew Gooden onto the show as a guest? That'd be cool! Also keep up the great work! Loving the content!
Netflix? Redbox? Blockbuster? Family/Hollywood Video?
All I knew was the public library.

I agree with boze there is a lot of trash on Netflix including half of their original content
Can you make a video with Boze about Defy and Smosh shutting down
I was wondering if they will. Unless it was too touchy an subject. This might be a private matter too.
They were Defy too? I thought something was off when Screen Junkies left them.
Netflix doesn't get all the new movies tho or as fast as red box
Man block buster was dope, I’m 17 and I remember going with my dad as a little kid.
I went to a Netflix film preview in Rossville California and it was awesome; but I had no idea they wanted to go that far.
I fucking love Boze. 😂😭😂😭😂 fucking hilarious.
In the Philippines, we still have Video City, a video rental store, popular in the 90s. It smells like a grandma now.
Red box is still around and honestly is still cheaper since it's $1.50 for a day but it has a smaller selection of course. they still have redboxes at Mcdonalds and Gas stations here. But I no longer see alot of people using it.

Stranger Things, The Haunting of Hill House, Hush, Daredevil, Next Gen, The Night Comes for Us, they have plenty of good stuff

Where I live at we like physical disk is cheaper to get Redbox with those are only a dollar a night that's why people still buy Redbox

They're likely doing this so that their movies aren't barred from festivals or awards. They had an issue with that earlier this year.
Amazon is doing the same thing too though...
When Boze said that there was a tiffany sad 1 liner video compilation, she never thought that most of the viewers where going to watch it right away, if they haven't seen it Of course
