Hi, I have inherited the pool maintenance for our pool, I am wondering how to physically change the handle, so the tiger shark will change direction. Any help would be appreciated. Thank on advance, AM
Couldn’t find any local dealers to service this. Considered buying a replacement motor box and trying to do it ourselves but ended up just buying another. We got about 5 years out of the first one.
I really like the Dolphin Robotic Pool Cleaner because it does all the work that I use to have to do. I save water by not vacuuming to waste. It works great, and it doesn't use that much electricity. It evens cleans the side of the walls. I use to have a Polaris cleaner that used more electricity and didn't clean the pool as well as the Dolphin Robotic Cleaner. It's relatively easy to clean, and store. I wish that I had known about this cleaner years ago when I had my Polaris that I didn't like at all. I'm a happy camper.
Simple fix for Hayward Tigershark! My vacuum impeller would not work after winter when using it for the first time. The tracks would run for about a minute and then it would stop. I did some troubleshooting and realized it will not operate below 42 degrees. My temp was close to that. I ran the heater up to 60 degrees, tried the Tigershark again and it did the same thing! Tracks would run briefly and shut off. Impeller would not run. So i figured the water temp was not the issue. I was at the end of my rope with troubleshooting and about to purchase a new Robot Vacuum. Here is what solved the issue. I filled the bathtub with hot water and let the Tigershark sit in there while it filled up. Once the tub was full I turned on the vacuum. BOOM! Back up and running! Impeller started working again! Dropped it back in the pool at around 50 degrees and it's been running now for over an hour. If this solves your issue please let me know. I haven't seen any other troubleshooting posts that suggest this but it worked for me.
I appreciate it. I have a very old Tiger Shark. The owners of the house left behind the shark for us to use. It was bought in the 80s. Last year replaced the rollers, the roller webbing, the pully drive bearing, the filters, filter plate and the caterpillar tracks on both sides. It has been working like a charm since the upgrades. I put it in the pool today (Toronto, Canada) and noticed it was barely moving. I was trying to get a head start on opening the pool ahead of time. Water is still freezing here.

I have a Tiger Shark RC9990GR. Last season I used it to clean my pool, full cycle. It left some debris, so I took it out of the pool, changed the filters, and put it back in the water. Turned it on. It worked for a few minutes and turned off. Since it was the end of the season, I dried the unit off and removed the filters. Put it in storage. I am again ready to use the unit, and knew I had an issue. I placed a call to Hayward and was told I would get a reply from a tech in 24-48 hours. Well, I did...an email telling me to find the nearest service center. For all the money I paid for this unit, I would at least expect a phone call to discuss to see if there was a troubleshooting tip. Not impressed with Hayward at this point.
We purchased the Tiger Shark about two years ago and it has worked great until now. When we stored it last fall it worked great. We got it out yesterday and it doesn't work at all. I have plugged it into three different outlets (that all worked) and it is not working. The light isn't coming on, and the vacuum doesn't move. This is a very expensive pool vacuum to only last not even two years. Any helpful advise?

I wanted to update this. We were contacted within a day of this post by a Hayward representative. Before contacting us, he researched our area for a distributor to take it to, called them, got their hours, and had all the information for us when he called us. I thing that is very good customer service! We took it there and it was fixed within that day. It was something very simple as well. The rubber covering of the on/off switch was very sticky on the inside and was pulling the button back out when released. They replaced it, and didn't charge us. I'm glad this was all that was wrong and it is again working perfect. Thank you Hayward for all your help with this.

Hi, I just bought a tigershark QC. I have run it twice. BOTH times it has missed a good sized area, and got stuck on the Main Drain. Stuck for 20 minutes untill I manually pulled it off. Any recommendations?
+Jason Konturas In the owners manual under troubleshooting and page 13 (c) there are instructions for this situation. My guess is you main drain is raised.
I started the machine with that clip already installed. It literally gets stuck on the drain everytime and if Im not there to pull it off, it just sits there... I spoke with Hayward Tech support on Friday, and they told me to try and find an aftermarket "main drain matt" made by Unibridge, but they got horrible reviews, and most people say they do NOT work.. It doesnt stay in place... So, my question is now what? The Hayward Tech fully admitted these new raised drains are the new code for in ground pools.... And they are getting this problem often now, as the design didnt take these raised drains into consideration. Please help!! Im on the edge of just sending the tigershark back. First run of the season. Unit ran well for a little while (at least 10 minutes or longer) and then stopped. Now when I turn it on, both the impeller and the drive belts start for a few seconds and then stop. Then only the drive belts come back on and it continues to move for a few seconds without the impeller going before shutting off for good. Cleaned filter and checked impeller for clogs and did not find any. There is fine sandy material in the housing near the impeller but the impeller turns freely by hand and does not sound like it is grinding. What could be causing this behavior?

My cleaner won't climb the walls anymore. I don't think the impeller is working. Is the impeller the problem or the motor? It runs well, otherwise. I've read other threads having the same problem but nothing has been published to troubleshoot.

I cannot find any references online at all for my Hayward eVac automatic pool vacuum. It has been great, but for the first time it simply needed a drive belt. I cannot find anything on it. No instructions came with the belt the the only thing I can find close is other similar but not close enough to be the same (several videos and how tos online for your other products, but nothing for the eVac). I just want instructions on how to get the belt off and new one back on. Because I could only watch videos of other models only, I'm afraid that in attempting to get the belt on, it broke the bearings off of the drive pulley that goes to the motor as a result of being a different model. There is no way I can get the new belt on it there is no way to manipulate the wheels, but there is NOTHING online for technical support with this model. Please help and thanks in advance.

Hi! I recently buy a Tigershark and I notice he just climb the wall on the first half an hour. Its normal? After I clean the filters he climbs again and than he stops climb again after a half an hour. Sometimes stays 10 minutes in a same place trying to climb. Thanks
The key to if the cleaner is cleaning correctly is simple. If after the cleaning cycle the pool is clean, all is well. If not you may need to increase the cleaning time. The cleaner will stay in certain places to get the pool clean then move on.
Mine is leaving lots of streak Mark's not covering every spot I cleaned the filter everything looks good just cant figure it out and it wont climb the walls just stays there

I'm referring to the cleaner running to far out of the water while doing the water line. There should be a video in length about what is and is not proper operation at the water line. All I can find are videos of tigersharks running to far out of the water. And I think I have the flow restrictor on there, but I'm not sure because the manual is vauge.

My SharkVac XL runs, pumps water and goes through it's 15 -20 second set up when you put it in the pool, then the wheels start turning and it goes a foot or less and stops. Everything is clean, no obstructions, I have a new drive belt on, everything moves as it should with a little resistance. I have 23.7 volts at the base and then I took the wire out at the motor and I have 31.4 volts at the end of the wire, which seems odd to have more voltage after the 50 ft wire at the motor. I don't believe the motor is the problem but where do I go from here? Help.

I think there is something clogging the top part of my Tiger Shark but I cannot remove the piece that is shown in the video. It seems to be secured by a screw needing an Allen wrench. I tried metric and regular wrenches, every size, nothing works. How do you remove the top piece?

My shark vac was working earlier this season and now has stopped. I have unplugged it, removed it from the pool and cleaned it. Nothing appears to be stuck in the unit. I have had the vac for a few years and for the amount of money I paid, I am less than satisfied with its value. The on/off switch has become gooey, which is even more disappointing since the unit when not in use remains on the deck adjacent to the pool.

Hi Cathy, our tech will reply and will call you too. Please PM your phone number for a call back.
Cathy, our tech would like to talk with you. Please PM your phone number.
My problem is very similar to this... any resolution? The local repair guy isn't even taking any new repairs in for at least 2 weeks
Cathy Zaleha mine is doing the exact same thing! What was the cause?
my rollers are not moving. the motor can be heard seems stuck?
Hi Joe, sounds like it may need to be looked at. Here is a link to our website Dealer Locator: www.hayward-pool.com/shop/en/pools/Dealer-Locator?langId=-1#top. Be sure to select Product Repair or Service.
My cleaner won't climb the walls anymore. I don't think the impeller is working. Is the impeller the problem or the motor? It runs well, otherwise. I've read other threads having the same problem but nothing has been published to troubleshoot.
Hi Joseph, happy to help! Please dm your phone number and email address on our Facebook page or Twitter profile and a Hayward tech will reach out to help tomorrow. Alternatively, you can email us at marketing @Hayward.com.

Thanks
A tech will reply here or he may want to call you. Please PM your phone number and location on our Facebook page or Twitter profile.
The key to if the cleaner is cleaning correctly is simple. If after the
cleaning cycle the pool is clean, all is well. If not you may need to
increase the cleaning time. The cleaner will stay in certain places to
get the pool clean then move on.
Mine is leaving lots of streak Mark's not covering every spot I cleaned the filter everything looks good just cant figure it out and it wont climb the walls just stays there
Hi there! We'd be happy to assist. Please send us a private message over on Twitter or Facebook with your contact information.

Hi Moise! Please private message us on Facebook or Twitter with your email and phone number for assistance.

My TigerShark turns on but it makes a clicking sound and barely moves. Any idea what is causing this clicking sound?
tedlongsworth hi there, would you like to speak with a tech? If that would be helpful, please PM your phone number on our Facebook page or Twitter profile.
When my cleaner passes over bottom debris, it picks up some of the debris but any fine particles are sent through the impeller into the pool water making it very cloudy after the pool cleaner has finished it's cycle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Jill
Jill, please PM your phone number and someone will call you on Monday.

Hayward Pool Products how do you pm
how about talking about the biggest problem with this unit! How to troubleshoot the cleaning of the water line?!!!!
Tom M if you are talking about the unit cleaning minerals left on the water line of the pool, most cleaners will not remove this or any staining. We can call you to discuss if you leave your phone number.
I'm referring to the cleaner running to far out of the water while doing the water line. There should be a video in length about what is and is not proper operation at the water line. All I can find are videos of tigersharks running to far out of the water. And I think I have the flow restrictor on there, but I'm not sure because the manual is vauge.
Tom M Oh, okay. We'd be glad to call you today to help with the flow restrictor.
That's great, what number should I call?
We will give your phone number to our Hayward tech. You can private message us on Facebook.

@@HaywardPoolProducts hi have a question about the tiger shark cleaning swimming pool robot...how can replace the power cord electrical wire that goes from the robot to the power supply..that long wire.... ?? Its barely cut in half... is there a place where I can take it to get it fixed... ?? Please can you help this is a very expensive vacuum pool cleaner not to work after only a year
my cord twists & is not picking up well
Hi Lorraine, would you like to speak with a tech? If so, please DM your phone number to us on Facebook or Twitter.

Help.
Hi Mr. Mattei, we're sorry to hear about your issues with our cleaner. We encourage you to contact your local pool store for possible warranty / repair: www.hayward-pool.com/shop/en/pools/Dealer-Locator.
We'd also be happy to connect you with our tech team to look into this. Providing this information will help us, help you, efficiently. Someone will reach out to you directly as soon as possible.
I think there is something clogging the top part of my Tiger Shark but I cannot remove the piece that is shown in the video. It seems to be secured by a screw needing an Allen wrench. I tried metric and regular wrenches, every size, nothing works. How do you remove the top piece?
Hi Lisa, we can ask a Hayward tech to contact you on Monday, if you’d like to DM your email address and phone number on our Facebook page or Twitter profile. You can also call your local Hayward Dealer for assistance.
Please share your phone number for a call back from our tech.
how can I make it private?
my zip code is 18940
Here's Google's recommendation:
"Go to the channel of the person you want to contact. You can do this by clicking their channel name underneath one of their videos.
Click the About tab.
Click Send message.
Type in your private message and click Send."
It needs to be checked out by a service center. At www.hayward.com there is a dealer locator. Pick repairs and robotic cleaners.

no kidding it's a TROUBLESHOOTING video, what did you expect.. the guy singing "I'm dancing in the rain" or something?? It believe it is a great troubleshooting video for noobs although this is not the kind of video I would watch twice :)
+Ken ded we hope it's a helpful video.
This video tells you always to verify this and verify that but it does not explain to you how to do it so this video is useless
