You can tell that it’s an Army pilot. He couldn’t figure out which part of the ship was the front end...

What with a big diesel powered aircraft carrier with no catapult or arrest wires having an American designed and built helicopter landing on it?

JohnB Wright not sure why because it’s fairly obvious but the point I’m trying to make is that the other guy said that it is a carrier with no catapult system (probably suggesting that it is a bad aircraft carrier) and an American designed and built helicopter. I was simply explaining that it is not an American designed or built helicopter and that the reason the “aircraft carrier” doesn’t have a catapult system is that it is only for helicopters. If you don’t understand the point I was trying to male from that then you must be an idiot or something

@@hydraz1443 the Helicopter in this video is landing on R 08 the R 08 is HMS Queen Elizabeth the new fixed wing carrier for F 35B and not HMS Ocean which as the ship number of L 12 By the way do you see the ski jump so they is no need for a catapult system on this fix wing aircraft carrier
And one more bit of information HMS Ocean L 12 was decommissioned 27th of March 2018 that means no longer in service with the RN
It is now with the Brazilian navy as PHM Atlântico (A140)

Personally I think the Apache is too beefy to be on the carrier, and we’d be better off further modifying the Wildcat to take on similar roles. They are slimmer, shorter, and already equipped for storage on the carrier. And they have been proven to work with missiles already (although not hellfires) and can have guns fitted (but they are door guns and need to be manned.
I think it’s a god idea but I’d rather see Wildcats used as carrier operated attack helicopters (although I 99% doubt it will never happen 😂)

Are there ordinance stores on board the carrier to place an on the landing Apache gunship? I'd like to know.

@Zuul Gatekeeper yeah, at the moment Apaches are not in Royal Navy service, they are only being used in the Army Air Corps for now.
When ships can store Apaches, do you reckon they will officially be in the Fleet Air Arm? Or will they still be operated by Army but used on ships?
