- This video is the first part of a demonstration on how to build a compound miter serving tray from salvaged shipping crate material and offcuts from another project. The tray is 350mm wide x 500mm long x 75mm high. It has sides that flair 15 degrees with 14mm thick sides and a 1/4" thick bottom. To get square corners, the blade angle is set at 43.1 degrees and the miter fence set at 14.51 degrees.
Wow...all the bells and whistles. Nice job, but it's the calculations and setting up what most of us DIYers have at home that I'm in need of for my compound cutting project.
Good lord, your equipment is amazing. Those vacuum clamp/vices are incredible!
Watch your video is a great satisfaction, see how to use so many great tools professionally is not a everyday feast. The compound miter related information is what i need just now, i want to build a compound miter base for my lantern. Thank you Steve, have a good day!
Awesome! If I win the lottery I can build a $20 tray!!
Nice tray but it’s more fun to look and watch all those beautiful tools at work.
I love your ideas for using up scrap. I am sitting on an awful pile of scrap wood. Keep telling myself when i retire i am going to stop making production stuff ie: Kitchen cabinets, and actually make the items i want to make.
I suppose with 50 bajillion dollars in tools, I could fabricate some pretty nice things. Nice video but I"m in the wrong neighborhood.
Firstly, you must be a professional carpenter because the tools you have are top notch and must have cost a ton of money. That being said, if I had a race car I couldn't drive as good as Dale Earnhardt so it's your knowledge that makes what you build perfect. If you could detail how you got the compound maitre angles, it would be great. I know it's from a long time ago but I just found your channel and would like to follow your work.
Just want to say, just found your channel. Really like the detail. I don’t have all of the equipment you have but I make do with what the Lord has given me thus far. Please keep the videos coming and you have another subscriber.
Excellent video Steve! Nice job on the handle profiling.
Awesome tutorial, just what I was looking for.
great video, but I'm sure I'm not alone in having space or equipment you have. I think the use of more basic tools would show that we don't need such high-end equipment to achieve a reasonable job. I would like the cost of tools you have as a yearly salary.
Rejoice ye woodworkers with $100K+ worth of tools and machinery who can't figure out how to make a serving tray!
nice work my friend and thank you for a cracking job ,
Nice job Steve!. Thanks for sharing. Scott
Hi, I would be more interested to know how to calculate the compound miter angles. If you could elaborate more on that in a separate video? Thanks. You got pretty amazing tools though!
How did you come up with the angles needed for the miters? I'm making one now and can't figure out the miter. Thanks
Would liked to see how those compound miter cut are made on a miter saw. Nice fancy tools.
Ich finde es schön, was er macht Jungs geht auch mit einfachem Werkzeug, nicht neidisch werden.
Steve do you have any videos on your vacuum set up ,which you see a little of when making your tray. Thanks Eric
