Hot, moist gas will condense on a cold exhaust pipe and can eventually block it. The lagging will help prevent this happening. The longer the pipe the more chance of condensation.
This makes total sense and a great idea. Can you share the link for the longer hose please, cheers

When are you going to the timing belt video, I need to change mine so just want to see what sort of job it is
Sorry only just seen your comment somehow. I got the timing belt done by Mt friend in exchange for some electrical work, I was busy doing that while he was doing the van so didn't get much footage. I took a few clips though, I'll see if I can get a video together for it. 😁
The glow plug symbol on the thermostat is that glow plug inside the heater? 🙃
Yes it is, it pre heats the combustion chamber in the the start up process. 😁
Route the air intake inside the van it will heat up faster as it's not heating cold air and also it will keep the engine and cab isolated Incase of an exhaust failure on the van. Also I heater exhaust should exit the side of the van by a few inches as being under the van will fill the underside with fumes
Good to know, thank you, I'll extend it out the side abut more. 😁
