Bro is a legend. I grew up when DBZ first hit Toonami on cartoon network, first anime for me and my brother and honestly still some of the best I've seen. I worked as a teacher the last few years, with kids talking about DB Super and DBGT being the best and I had to explain to them how much better the storytelling is, the lore, the innovation was with DBZ obviously they can't understand timeline wise how different it was to anything out there, but the origional Dragon ball and Dragon Ball Z had so much too offer as a story not just power ups and new versions of super saiyan, which is all kids give a shit about now, not that I blame them, I remember how watching Goku hit super saiyan the first time was a borderline orgasmic experience as a child, especially with the build up and the context of the particular saga. Long story short. Dude built a dynasty. Everything that came after DBZ and origional Dragon Ball are entertainment for low class peasants unable to appreciate the finer qualities of the cinematic experience anime had to offer at that time, and even now. DBZ abridged is also amazing but without the context of the origional dialogue and seriousness of the series, it wouldnt be nearly as hilarious. Dude really was the goat of all goats when it comes to children's anime. I can even go back as an adult and appreciate it, I had babysitters in college that were often women that were even stricken with how mesmorizing it was. I could say a lot more and circle jerk this thing all day, but all of us who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s know how revolutionary this shit was, especially to children of western culture before anime was respected the way it is today on this side of the planet.
