  • Another great pen from Ranga. I would call this a EDC as it is just the right size. This is their P2 Black Cracked Ice material.
Model: Samurai P2 Black Cracked Ice
    Nib: Medium
    Material: Premium Acrylic

Definitely a fan of both Ranga and ASA. Quality made fountain pens. 👌🏼

I already own Ranga Abhimanyu and 4C models.. 3C is the one I ordered recently because of the cigar shape and mid size category... I also own Gama Eyas ebonite pen which is another old brand from India and i wanted to compare 3C model with it...

Love the video but next time please use more common pens for the size comparison. That part was what I really wanted to know but since I have neither of those it did me no good.

      Hi Alan,
Thanks for the feedback and will do. If it helps.
It's about 1/2 longer than a TWSBI Eco and thicker
      Same for the Lamy Al-Star
The closest one would be the Leonardo Momento Zero Grande in relation to size.
Esterbrook Oversized is another pen with the same length but the Ranga body and cap is probably 1-2 mm thicker.
The Range is definitely a large pen

I got mine last week. I'm happy with the size. I'd like to see how it stacks up in size to the KOP and the M1000 size pens.

Very nice video and review, thank you! I've been on the fence about buying a Samurai for a while now... so long that I'm not sure that they're even still available. I love Ranga pens, though, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time 🙂

It's quite nice. I like this model and color is sweet. Not sure as their ordering is different. Done via Google form so might be worth a try. It's nice to see more retailers carrying them now vs just direct.

@@inkcrediblefountainpens Just checked my most recent email from them and found that the Samurai "group buy" is still working, so that's good. Incidentally, I recently published a video about my Ranga Abhimanyu Grands, if you feel like checking it out! I'm working on a little series of videos about Indian fountain pen inks, too. Keep up the great work with your reviews!

Out of the 2 models.... Abhimanyu and Samurai, what's your 1st choice? I actually have both these on my wishlist and need to choose one😂

Both are great pens. Just depends on what you want. The Samurai is bigger so if you want something that's like a pocket pen go with the Abhimanyu. Great colors and smaller size. If you want to pick it would be Abhimanyu as I have a few of those and only one Samurai.

Thanks for the video. Is it a Jowo or Bock nib?

What is the nib size - 5 or 6?

How does this pen compare with a Penlux Grande? They seem to look similar.

Hi. I don't have a Penlux Grande unfortunately to compare. It is a standard cigar shape so probably very similar in appearance.

@@inkcrediblefountainpens Thanks for your review. I am considering a Samurai myself, in Ebonite. How does the step-up to the threads and above the threads feel like? Are they comfortable if you hold the pen away from the nib?

    • @inkcrediblefountainpens
      @inkcrediblefountainpens  Рік тому

@@DB-iv5wp Hi...the grip is fairly long so if you like to grip higher, the threads you smooth and don't cut into you. The step up from the threads, in my opinion, is very minor and shouldn't impact a persons grip. Granted because of the longer grip section, high grip users will like it. From the grip flare to the starting of the thread it is about 1 and 1/8 inches of smooth grip before you feel the threads. From the flare to the step above the threads is 1.5 inches. I hope that helps!
