It seems like you've struck gold with these Porter Robinson x Minecraft songs, I'd imagine your planning on making more and if so I'd love to hear your rendition of Fellow Feeling
Both this album and Minecraft were a large part of my life a few years ago. Seeing them come together like this is a surreal and emotional experience, to say the least.
The original sound sounds so sorrowful, the embodiment of the end of the world. But this version? This is the sound of hope. The sound of a new dawn. The sound of a brand new world with infinite possibilities.
I think that’s the power of c148s Minecraft music, despite being melancholic their is always a hopeful tune in it. So even when you take something like Porter Robisons goodbye to a world, it will still have that hopeful tune to it, because that’s what makes good minecraft music, that’s what makes c148s pieces, and Lana Rain imo, so iconic.
I never really saw the original as the song at end of a world, but rather a prelude to the ending of a sad world giving birth to a new one. "'Thank you, I'll say goodbye soon.' Though it's the end of the world, don't blame yourself. And if it's true, I will surround you. And give life to a world that's our own." It sounds like it's telling someone who's life has fallen apart, that they are willing to help and bring about a better world with them. And to me this MC redo sounds like the beginning of this more peaceful world. Idk maybe I'm a bit more optimistic ;-;
This feels like the song you play when the hero gives their life to stop the corruption. They don't just end it, but their sacrifice births a flower. The first one in years, the rarest kind, surrounded by a patch of lush grass.
The original always made me think of my aunt, and how she's kept completely banal voicemails from people. And also an old Cyanide and Happiness comic where a woman calls her son's phone over and over just to hear him say "leave a message" because he'd died. This version reminds me of how, when my grandma died, and I didn't get to see her in hospital before the end, my aunt played me one of those voicemails, and it was just Grandma, full of vim and vinegar asking what she should bring to Thanksgiving, from the year before.

There also comes the matter of who owns the music after he (the artist) dies, and how much money does his descendants get for an X amount of years. Usually it would be 30 or so, as long as his spouse is alive. But the amount they pay him is equivalent to how good his music is, both before, and after he made an album...

It’s dark out, and just starting to rain. You head home after a long day and let the door close behind you with a soft click. You put on a record as you idly sort through your belongings. The softly glowing lights of your cozy house remind you how far you’ve come since you first got here all that time ago. You’ve done so much, made so many memories, and despite how empty it feels here, that’s okay. Sometimes being alone with yourself is just what you need. As the soft music starts to fade out and all that remains is the faint record scratching and raindrops on the roof of your humble, handmade abode, you let out a sigh and lie down in bed. You’ve done all there is to do here. You’re not upset about it, there’s nothing wrong with how you’ve been doing things this whole time, but you’re just not sure what to do next. You’ve done all you can for now. And so you do nothing. You eventually will come back, it’s not like this is goodbye forever. But it’s certainly goodbye to a world. Goodbye to this world. If I ever hear Unfold or Look At The Sky in a version like this I will literally weep! Edit: Since everyone is sharing their thoughts and emotions about this one and also the Shelter remix I'll do so as well. Even though I have only really started playing Minecraft about a year ago and therefor don't really have that many emotions tied to it I do have a lot of memories and emotions tied to Porter. He has shaped my taste in music massively and has brought me through the hardest times in my life. I really wanna thank you, Tomás, for creating those two absolute gems of music!
I can literally see it in my mind listening to this song. Every night i'd log on, join the skype calls, laugh, cry, just spend time with them, any of it. I think those are the days I miss the most, where nothing really weighed me down, I could spend all night playing on whatever server we'd made and just always have someone in call, those days came and went like time didn't matter. I miss when we all talked, I miss when there was always someone making jokes and getting the boys going. I think the days I'll miss most are the days I just spent with all of them, it felt like it was gonna last forever.
This hits hard. I listened to Goodbye To A World years ago, and now, hearing it with the soundtrack of the game that's shaped my life, makes me feel emotional.
This song evokes such nostalgia, such a beautiful melancholy. And yet, it's different from the original. This one is steeped in tragic beauty, but also in hope. This is Goodbye to a World - but a new day is peeking out over the horizon.
FUCK. I knew I was gonna cry the moment it hit the second part of the "And if its true I will surround you and give life to a world That's our own" starting with just the first part on repeat, building to the second... God damn it, it's too good
is this guy the first to create this kind of stuff on UA-cam? "Other famous songs but they're a Minecraft soundtrack" This should be a good category on UA-cam, imagine the possibilities of our favourite songs ranging from upbeat to rock music and even more types just becoming something like this. Keep up the good work man, u will be famous. I'm sure of that.
its good, sorta feels melancholic, like something beautiful but sad, and all you can do is stand there and cry, as you say goodbye it started off so well, all of us here, so many dreams, so many hopes, we banded together against everything, we swore to always be there for each other, Getting together to play dnd on the weekends, playing card games, getting pc's and playing minecraft and tf2, we saw each other nearly every day. i said hi and you all laughed back, i zoned out and suddenly wed already met up, those glowing times that seem to go up like smoke, wed carpool to our favourite spots, even going to laser tag once, but in all honesty, none of us liked going out, to met you, and share all those memories, i do it again, even if i was an idiot. growing up and spreading apart felt like an end, but you all still came back, we smoked grass and complained about life. we said our goodbyes, and i was alone again, without you, i was happy just that all of you were still here, and even if im sad now, your memories are still cherished, all of you, eben the moments i wished id forgotten or never had done, you were all real. so goodbye to our world, i guess i can carry on in mine, with the memories lining my walls
There is always a point we gotta say goodbye to others bro. Sometimes i feel like it is inevitable no matter how strong the bridge is. And in a way, we all know it is, we all know nothing lasts forever, we know even ourselves will meet an end someday. But it still... hurts
I've remembered this album recently after a long time having an earworm of this melody. I didn't quite remember the lyrics but it was often played in my head. The melody seems happy but sad at the same time and this is what makes this song so beautiful.
Bro this is so abhorrently comforting Like someone else said in the comments, it combines the nostalgia of both Minecraft, a game that helped shape my childhood and goodbye to a world, a song that makes me just feel so strongly, to create a sense of longing for someone or something that does not exist
i love how you make it sound so Minecraft, the slower tempo and the slower addition of layers is just amazing. also the drop being the first time that the melody concludes is really beautiful
The world lies there, You've done everything. You've been everywhere. Everytime, you had something to do, somewhere to go, some place to see. But now? You're at the end of the world, my friend. And it's been a glad honor, hasn't it?
That was really pleasant - I enjoyed the way you did the chorus at the end. As for next projects - I'd love to see the reverse? Minecraft songs in Porter robinson's style 😉
You wake up, 5Am after going bed last night at 10pm Just to play some Minecraft before you have to had to school in 5th grade early 2012, The birds are chirping the crickets are sizzling. Your in a deep cave, The lava burns and crackles, and you spot diamonds your young self is so happy to see them but you know you cant speak or scream with joy so you dance and tear up knowing how lovely these are and rare to find turning your analog on your controller just to see a mineshaft and all the ores around you... Fast forward a couple years and its late at night around 12pm you just graduated and the new cod came out.. Your life is revolving around you so fast yet something is missing.. Your boys said they were gonna play but they all went offline to hang out with there girlfriends or are asleep cause they work fulltime.. So its just you. But.. You dont want to play it without them.. You hop on your computer that you never thought youd have and you simply go on spotify and que porter robinsons new nuture album.. your scrolling through your files when you find Minecraft.. You hear the 2 clicks and your in.. the crisp autumn air runs through your window opening all your memories of the games intro music mashing with porter robinsons goodbye to a world and everything kicks in.. All the friends, houses, xp farms, the years of grinding just everything being remade all for a simple start up music... This.. is.. Minecraft.. Also known as a love of life for many...
Welp. Adding this to the many songs going into me and my wife's wedding. We both danced to this in the kitchen. Best thing we came across in a while thank you
This is a song about an emotion that I could never name, but strangely, will always feel familiar. It kind of hurts, but I don’t want it to stop. Maybe I’ll find something, or heal something if it stays with me. It hurts like thinking about the past spent, but also a future not yet lived. I miss this song while it’s playing. A strange sentence, but the only one that really makes sense. Thank you for making this.
god this song is so nostalgic. i still remember the first time i listened the goodbye to a world, i legitimately cried. you really captured the melancholic feel minecraft’s soundtrack has
I am really happy to see more content relating to one of my favorite songs. This song just has such a specific vibe that whenever I listen to it I am on the verge of crying, it does have a very bittersweet feeling.
Chills, literal chills. You've captured both the original song and the Minecraft style so well, if I didn't know any better I'd believe this was an actual song from the soundtrack. Incredible job 😍
Dude this reminds me of when I went to the realm I shared with my friends and wandered our empty houses. The in game music is so Somber, even when it's not meant to be.
I listened to this song in several dif versions on repeat while playing minecraft like 3 years ago on my xbox 1, and now im listening to it while playing modded minecraft on my pc 🥺 actually emotional rn
I’m 23, turning 24 next spring. Im only now starting to realize that i’m not gonna be able to stay a child forever, that i *am* slowly growing up, becoming a mature adult, even through all my difficulties and delays, and depression and trauma adding to the slowing down of said maturing,,, Feels like the end of an era, a bittersweet feeling. I can either decay with the old world or do my best to step into the new one.
This reminds me of Minecraft story mode in the best way possible, maybe it's the combination of two nostalgic things but the song itself takes you on a journey and I feel like it captures the raw excitement I had while playing that game. I know it's not everyone's favourite, but for me it was a highlight of my childhood
4:04 sounds like medieval royalty... I have something for all of you to read. Imagine a great hall, immense banners of all colors, proudly dressed on the high walls, the sunset glow bathing everything in warm glow. A long carpet stretches from the throne, with loyal knights standing on either side of it, and, at the entrance, stands our king, draped in proud red and gold. Everyone kneels before him, and in a silent stride, the king walks up the throne. Not quite sitting there yet, he turns toward his subjects, and his booming, monotone yet jovial voice fills the great hall: "I, TECHNOBLADE, WILL NEVER BE GONE! STAND UP, FOR YOUR KING HAS RETURNED!" And in a thundering clattering, the knights stands up and their deafening roar conquers the sanctuary: "TO OUR KING! TO OUR NATION! TO OUR PEOPLE! YOU SHALL NEVER BE GONE FROM OUR HEART!" ... Rest in Peace, Technoblade. May the sportmanship you inspired never falter, and lead a new generation of dualist.
POV: You've died in our 2 year Minecraft Hardcore world. Unfortunately, you didn't copy the files of world, so you turn on Spectator Mode to revisit everything you have done and accomplished. You feel like everything that happened in that world is flashing before your eyes as the mouse slowly moves to the exit button.
It's so powerful hearing a song, that has helped me throughout the years, being mixed into a soundtrack of a game that's done the same. Rest in peace Technoblade and Edd Gould, and thank you for everything 💚❤️
Fun to listen to this when your favorite minecraft server is shutting down and you're playing it for the last day it's online. (R.I.P Detox Network; it shut down a while ago, but this song reminded me of how surreal it was)
YES! YES! i've seen so many videos now that are just taking a midi and swapping out soundfonts and they all fall short of what they feel like they want. this is exactly what it should be - an actual recomposition, no matter how simple the changes were. this is wonderful and i'm so glad the algorithm sent me here
There's so many builds and worlds I spent hours of my childhood on... I'm an adult now. I don't remember half of what I spent those days on, half of what I created, but I'm thankful for that time filled with joy and creativity, having this game and its blocks to express whatever wild idea came to mind. I sometimes wonder if that's where my artistic interests and my life goals truly sprouted. Goodbye to those worlds, goodbye to that stage in my life, thank you for the experience.
Wow. This works. Like, it just kinda, does. It kinda makes no sense but yet, somehow, it works. Wow. Now make more like this. I want to see what you’ve got
This song made me openly weep about 2 minutes in. I think I needed to realize something about the situation i’m in and this helped me in ways I did not think I needed. I deeply thank you for making this.
usually when i check out a song, i listen for about 30 seconds then move on, but something about this song has me stuck, listening. it's just too magical to stop prematurely
This and Shelter are absolutely amazing. If I had a soundtrack for my life, I feel like this would've definitely been playing in the background the last time I logged off from my elementary school friend's server years ago, not even realizing it would be the last time.
pov: you lived and died with different people, had happy lifetimes for each night, only for it to end and be forgotten the next moments after you wake up. You go on with your life as usual. Then, this song slowly reminds you of each one...... All of them saying goodbye to you and cherish the worlds you created
This is the moment of reopening the game after years, putting on an elytra, and reexporing everything you did then deciding, “I should start playing again.” And you do.
i have to say goodbye to a world... but its not a minecraft one this time. someone who meant the world to me. who built my world. just like my countless childhood ones in a game, i cant get it back. but i will thrive soon. and give life to a world. thats our own. stay safe, but fly fellow beings.
Wow, I didn't know it was possible but I started tearing up about a minute in... Your skills are so amazing to the point that I didn't want the song to end. Goodbye to a World and MC's Volume Alpha truly had a grip on me, thank you!
You wake up one day to find your beautiful world is slowly fading away, you realize you left your dog and cat in your crafting room. You watch in horror and sadness as your crafting room and your pets fade away. You're left with nothing but a void. Until, you see a new world forming under you. Yeah you lost everything, but at least you can rebuild it all over again. One block at a time, you make your new life more prettier than your old one. You breathe a sigh of pure joy when you find your first new wolf.
You know, listening to this sorta reminds me of hanging out with my cousin as a kid. We used to play a ton of minecraft on a xbox 360, just kinda doing whatever. A while back, my mom and the person taking care of him got in a fight over who knows what, and we really haven't talked since. Recently, my sister decided it would be funny to set up a prank call to him and give me the phone to see if I could guess it was him. We kinda just ended up talking for a while, and they kinda got disappointed that it was kinda just somber and not funny. Maybe I'll try to talk with him again at some point. Either way, thanks for making this and reminding me of those old memories.

this song was such a big part of my childhood, minecraft was a MASSIVE part of my childhood, and the two coming together is beautiful
same, this just makes me remember getting on skype on my grandparents living room desktop to build and roleplay and have fun with my mc friends, and this song i’ve always loved but coming back to it as i get older just reminds me of the final goodbyes to childhood, and maybe how we all still should hold onto some parts of it. sorry to dump this below ur comment HAHA i just relate to what you said and went off
When you delete your old minecraft world
tell me how a collection of strings being brushed and keys being pressed can make me cry so easily
The cube in the middle of the album cover always made me think of minecraft.
FUCK. I knew I was gonna cry the moment it hit the second part of the "And if its true
I will surround you and give life to a world
That's our own"
starting with just the first part on repeat, building to the second...
I was expecting this to just be noteblock stuff but holy crap this is a full song in the style of minecraft music. Well done man.
its good, sorta feels melancholic, like something beautiful but sad, and all you can do is stand there and cry, as you say goodbye
it started off so well, all of us here, so many dreams, so many hopes, we banded together against everything, we swore to always be there for each other,
Getting together to play dnd on the weekends, playing card games, getting pc's and playing minecraft and tf2, we saw each other nearly every day. i said hi and you all laughed back, i zoned out and suddenly wed already met up, those glowing times that seem to go up like smoke, wed carpool to our favourite spots, even going to laser tag once, but in all honesty, none of us liked going out, to met you, and share all those memories, i do it again, even if i was an idiot. growing up and spreading apart felt like an end, but you all still came back, we smoked grass and complained about life.
we said our goodbyes, and i was alone again, without you, i was happy just that all of you were still here, and even if im sad now, your memories are still cherished, all of you, eben the moments i wished id forgotten or never had done, you were all real.
so goodbye to our world, i guess i can carry on in mine, with the memories lining my walls
Why are the sad things the most beautiful? :(
There is always a point we gotta say goodbye to others bro. Sometimes i feel like it is inevitable no matter how strong the bridge is. And in a way, we all know it is, we all know nothing lasts forever, we know even ourselves will meet an end someday. But it still... hurts
hits different after stampy's last lovely world episode
so true, that guy was my entire childhood and i have so many memories with him. i cried during the last episode lol
C418 is so underrated. Creating such distinct music is such a great feat!
Amazing work!
This guy really put the creativity back into Minecraft
I've remembered this album recently after a long time having an earworm of this melody. I didn't quite remember the lyrics but it was often played in my head. The melody seems happy but sad at the same time and this is what makes this song so beautiful.
Bro this is so abhorrently comforting
Like someone else said in the comments, it combines the nostalgia of both Minecraft, a game that helped shape my childhood and goodbye to a world, a song that makes me just feel so strongly, to create a sense of longing for someone or something that does not exist
i love how you make it sound so Minecraft, the slower tempo and the slower addition of layers is just amazing. also the drop being the first time that the melody concludes is really beautiful
The world lies there,
You've done everything.
Minecraft songs in Porter robinson's style 😉
wow that's actually a great idea
lol imagine sweden in the style of hear the bells
Bro i can make this hardcore death song texture pack? It is so amazing@@tomaspaulmusic
Both this and shelter are so phenomenal. You are insanely talented. I’d love it if you did sad machine! Or divinity
Best thing we came across in a while thank you
This is one of the coolest comments I’ve ever received. Thank you so much for the kind words and all the best to you and your wife!
Wistful. It's such a strange emotion. Sad, yet hopeful. Nostalgic yet looking towards the future
@@MintSergal oh my god theres a word for it?? thank you
PLEASE PUT THIS ON SPOTIFY AND AMAZON MUSIC, I NEED THIS FOR MY PLAYLIST!!!
I didn't know it was possible for this song to hit me harder than it already did
this sounds absolutely ethereal, I can't wait for "_____ but its a minecraft soundtrack" to become a trend/genre of its own
I was not ready. I feel utterly devastated like this was my last day to remember everything before it’s all gone forever
True beauty
Im not crying
youre crying
The final boss has been defeated, but your journey isn't over yet. It's over until you say so.
When you die in a Hardcore world, your dog will never know where you went.
god this song is so nostalgic. i still remember the first time i listened the goodbye to a world, i legitimately cried. you really captured the melancholic feel minecraft’s soundtrack has
I am really happy to see more content relating to one of my favorite songs. This song just has such a specific vibe that whenever I listen to it I am on the verge of crying, it does have a very bittersweet feeling.
as much as I want to say goodbye to this world, I can't
because that would mean saying goodbye to you
and I can't
Chills, literal chills. You've captured both the original song and the Minecraft style so well, if I didn't know any better I'd believe this was an actual song from the soundtrack. Incredible job 😍
This is so good. You do such an awesome job converting Porter’s songs into Minecraft tracks. Can’t wait to see more of your work
This plays when you close the game for the last time, even if you didn't know it was the last time yet.
Sadness & Hapness mixed together makes this.
Dude this reminds me of when I went to the realm I shared with my friends and wandered our empty houses. The in game music is so Somber, even when it's not meant to be.
FINALLY someone who does the beatdrop justice. absolutely wonderful work.
thank you!
It gives me vibe while listening to it with burning logs and crackling fire sounds
When I hear anything with "good bye to a world" I start to cry
I listened to this song in several dif versions on repeat while playing minecraft like 3 years ago on my xbox 1, and now im listening to it while playing modded minecraft on my pc 🥺 actually emotional rn
I’m 23, turning 24 next spring. Im only now starting to realize that i’m not gonna be able to stay a child forever, that i *am* slowly growing up, becoming a mature adult, even through all my difficulties and delays, and depression and trauma adding to the slowing down of said maturing,,,
Feels like the end of an era, a bittersweet feeling. I can either decay with the old world or do my best to step into the new one.
This should play after you've died in Hardcore and observe whats left of your world.
funny how the cube in the hand looks like a minecraft block, jokes aside this is really good! its so soothing too.
This reminds me of Minecraft story mode in the best way possible, maybe it's the combination of two nostalgic things but the song itself takes you on a journey and I feel like it captures the raw excitement I had while playing that game. I know it's not everyone's favourite, but for me it was a highlight of my childhood
I swear i could go outside and listen to this while its raining and sit on a wall and admire the beauty that surrounds us.
It's so good that every Minecraft oldies would believe me if I tell them it's official.
YOU SHALL NEVER BE GONE FROM OUR HEART!"
...
Rest in Peace, Technoblade. May the sportmanship you inspired never falter, and lead a new generation of dualist.
Just to remind yall that stampy last video is this Saturday
(R.I.P Detox Network; it shut down a while ago, but this song reminded me of how surreal it was)
Both this and the other actively throwin hands with my current depressive spiral and i love that dearly
you got this!!!
"I like this player. It played well."
Homies gonna get his song in Minecraft soon!
This is Art at it's Finest
This is so good! You did great job capturing the style of Minecraft music while also keeping the melody and feel of the song. Love this!
YES! YES! i've seen so many videos now that are just taking a midi and swapping out soundfonts and they all fall short of what they feel like they want. this is exactly what it should be - an actual recomposition, no matter how simple the changes were. this is wonderful and i'm so glad the algorithm sent me here
Endless chills.
Words cannot describe how this makes me feel.
Goodbye to those worlds, goodbye to that stage in my life, thank you for the experience.
how did you make a song that already had the ability to make me cry even mORE POWERFUL
Aw man.. I was havin a good day, why’d ya have to do this to me
I wanna punch my ticket
Getting nostalgia right now
and the universe said i love you, because you are love!!!
Yooo omg I love this song and the og too! I wish this was on spotify
This man has peeked in the UA-cam algorithm, well done soldier 😉👍
Great Job ! ❤️
Wow.
Remembering the good days when I could have late nights playing minecraft with the boys without needing to worry about a single damn thing
usually when i check out a song, i listen for about 30 seconds then move on, but something about this song has me stuck, listening. it's just too magical to stop prematurely
This song has been so important to me in the past, and I've practically grown up with Minecraft, this is such a nostalgic mix, thank you so much
This and Shelter are absolutely amazing. If I had a soundtrack for my life, I feel like this would've definitely been playing in the background the last time I logged off from my elementary school friend's server years ago, not even realizing it would be the last time.
Why did I get chills when the other instruments came in
Song so nostalgic it gave me teary eyes
I miss the old days...
pov: you lived and died with different people, had happy lifetimes for each night, only for it to end and be forgotten the next moments after you wake up. You go on with your life as usual. Then, this song slowly reminds you of each one...... All of them saying goodbye to you and cherish the worlds you created
Both minecraft and this song were big parts of my life a few years back, thank you so much for making this
This is the moment of reopening the game after years, putting on an elytra, and reexporing everything you did then deciding, “I should start playing again.” And you do.
i have to say goodbye to a world... but its not a minecraft one this time. someone who meant the world to me. who built my world. just like my countless childhood ones in a game, i cant get it back. but i will thrive soon. and give life to a world. thats our own.
stay safe, but fly fellow beings.
when you lost your world that holds a special place in your heart to a corruption:
You breathe a sigh of pure joy when you find your first new wolf.
this hits different after stampy's series ended
so true, that guy was my entire childhood and i have so many memories with him. i cried during the last episode lol
I'd love to hear more of this style. It hits a particular mood. Somehwere between nostalgia, melancholy, and liminal
Either way, thanks for making this and reminding me of those old memories.
holy crap, i can feel the nostalgia hitting me hard and honestly, this sounds like it was supposed to be in the game, its honestly incredible thanks!
Wow. I actually cried. Porter will always be my fave because he brought emotion to edm. Thanks for this. Outrageously beautiful
