After 14 years of ownership, a couple of tips. 1. Fit a K&N Air filter and look after it. 2. This one needs $$$ remove the entire stock exhaust system, if it's in good nick, flog it on E Bay ( $400). Now for the $$$, fit a decent 4 into 1 Stainless system, mine's a Yoshi. The stock system weighs 22 Kilos, the Yoshi system weighs 7.5 kilos, so instant lighter Bike. 3. Arrange for a Dynotune as the combination K&N Filter and the free flowing Yoshi system will have your 1400 running quite lean. When I purchased my 2004 1400 it make all of 95HP at the wheel, after the upgrades and air/fuel adjustment it made 125 HP at the wheel. This result really illustrates how inefficient the stock exhaust system is.....stay upright...;)
I had a brand new 53 plate GSX1400 and loved it, till 2006 when Black Horse lied to me when I lost my job and could not pay the monthly payment. They forced me to sell it, give them the money and then stopped me having an IVA to pay the rest of my debts off. By the time the claims started being made for PPI, we found that it had insurance on it, even though I had said no to it from the off and Black Horse failed to tell me at the time. I shall never forgive them for that! It is such a gorgeous bike and if they had been honest and paid it off, I would still have the thing. It is, by far, the single best ever bike I have ridden and now, I am searching for another [03 or after] blue and white dream. Perfect bike for anyone!
Indeed, they're just incredible motorcycles for the price and future (maybe even already) classics. I owned one for about a year a year ago wit full Akropovic exhaust and power commander and the thing was an animal. 124hp on the wheel and 145nm(!). I wish I'd never sold it.

Very very good advice. Thanks!
One of the most beautiful bike's ever made . Very well designed too . Had the '07 final edition model , and regretted selling it .
I regretted selling my K2, now I have another one. Wouldn't want any other bike.
Love these, I have one converted to 1550cc with uprated cams with full Akrapovic and PC, it's 150bhp at the wheel with loads of torque. :)
Wow must be really scary to ride !
150hp on a fully faired bike is scary enough!
Never mind a totally naked muscle bike. She must pull!
I wonder how many owners never knew there were fold out bungee clips?
I wish they still made these. Finding a decent on with low miles is nearly impossible!
I've got one minted k2, lucky me.
Please bring back these retro bikes..
A good used one now costs as much as new back then ! 20 years and no depreciation.

I've always loved them. Had a test ride a number of years ago, and just loved the engine.
Sam Duncombe You'd be surprised how well it corners and how much you can scare the boys on their R6's and all too!
Now in 2018 still 3 grand!
Whoooooow!!!!! Love that bike!!!!!
