I still remember that I was super impressed by the graphics, especially the lighting, of this game back in the day. Besides that I was scared to death as a kid of course!

This was such an underrated classic, it wasn’t just some Resident Evil knockoff and the environment, story and atmosphere along with the music and sound made it scary.
One of the most amazing games ever made, the start of all horror games we know today, I remember how much I enjoyed the difficulty of the puzzles and suffering the lags and glitches and the hard controls ❤
Tho I totally forgot how random and funny this part was 2:28:30 😂😂 he promised him that all is alright and he’ll be fine then silently ran away and left the guy to drown 😂😂

I'm 31 yo now. I remember playing it when I was 12 or so. Man.. it terrified me and also entertained me a lot! Such a masterpiece. I still daydream about seeing a remake or remaster of this game!

It's a shame this game isn't more talked about. Definitely my favorite Alone in the Dark game. The Morton house is just as spooky as the Spencer Mansion and its monsters rival some of Silent Hill's best. Sure, it may be a RE clone (ironic, considering that Resident Evil was an Alone in the Dark clone to begin with), but it's a damn good one.
The last one was utter crap. So was that pi ss poor movie. Games should never be made into films. Unless it's CGI and made by the dev or fans.

@@jameswatsonatheistgamer Yes. I'm a massive Resident Evil fan, so I have watched all the live-action Resi movies, but more out of my perfunctory loyalty to the franchise. The CGI movies are really good by and large though.

I could never even reach the Manor on this game and I’ve owned it on PS2 for about 15 years! And only recently have I tried this game again (with some help from this walkthrough) and Gone and completed it. A true hidden gem. Thanks for the video!

Alone in the dark 4 was a reboot, so is very different from AITD1,2,3 but I love 4 a new nightmare the best cos they truly perfected the concept , just to let the whole world know that even original Resident evil took the same formula from original Aitd, but I truly suggest to see this full game & get the game for your self, is a true great epic sadly underrated classic
+DRAGOTH BELMONT I'm almost done with the playthrough and I must say I'm rather impressed with this game. I see what you mean by perfect the genre. Just two little things like aiming + moving, and manual reload are huge improvements to the genre that resident evil didn't do till outbreak #2 I believe

It's nice to see this game again, I was a teenager when I played it, I was more scared than anything else, I really hated the monsters that would suddenly appear and scream loudly, it terrorized me.

Ah, that loading screen. Added a different element to entering a room since you never knew what might be waiting for you when you phased in....glad I got to experience these at the time to fully appreciate how amazing games like this and RE were. Playing this alone, in the dark...well at least I was genuinely afraid of what would turn up next.
Man this game is painfully underrated nowadays. I played the first one years ago (reviewed it on my channel too) and loved it very much. I meant to play this one for the longest time but never got around to it and wasn't super convinced to do so since I barely found anyone talking about this one. I gave it a shot and now I can't decide if I like this one or the original more. Top tier survival horror for sure!
When you consider that many early PS1 graphics had that goofy N64 feel, the graphics in this game are pretty freaking awesome.

This game has one of the most intriguing atmosphere that I have seen. I really enjoyed playing it, I tried to replay it, but I easily ran out of ammo and that frustrated me. El guionista merece una gran premiacion por este juego. Damn. This game brings back memories! Sadly, I have not finished it because on the last part where Edward is trekking the mines the game suddenly crashes. It gave me goosebumps everytime monsters attack. What kept me occupied in playing this game were the puzzles. I really loved solving the puzzles in order for you to proceed to another level / part of the place.

THANK YOU MAN THANK THANK YOU this is my dearest Survival classic horror game of all times, but I think you know this already since I have told you countless times,, is WORSHIP THE HELL OUT OF THIS GAME, is amazing how underrated this GEM is, Edward carnby will always be one of those great icons of survival horror, love the gothic style of the game & amazing atmospherics , the unique dark wave OST & that supernatural Lore. this is how you do a true reboot to a series, perfecting it in every sense of the word, I also suggest AITD5 , is not as great as New nightmare but still it has it great moments & Ed is in there :) FINALLY YOUR CHANNEL IS COMEPLETED !! Alone in the dark 4 is the very soul of your channel along with silent hill & epic Resident evil

I know man, even thought I did not hated all the way that game, maybe cos I adore the title so much, I was just feeling like a little glad that some people were trying to bring back the series, but no man, ALONE IN THE DARK will always DESERVE FAR more, the new nightmare was that supreme brilliant era for the series.. I truly want to see it back ot it's true glory, they attempted that on AITD5 , wile I think the game was good, it just it wasn't truly pushed to it's higher potential , & also the controllers weren't too good, they had so much ideas & concepts but it just the technology wasn't there to make justice to it. still there is nothing like old AITD 4, that forever will be the unbeatable Giant of the series.. sadly those old developers that are geniuses are not back for the sequels, that is also another problem that we have.. but thanks giova, I so glad to finally see this AWESOME ICON in your channel

There is no human being on planet earth who can complete this game's puzzles without some sort of walkthrough guide when they play it the first time no matter how intelligent the person is. You need something to assist you, these video game walkthrough videos are immensely helpful in that regard. Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare is a marvellously magnificent game but consists of puzzles contained herein that shall destroy a person with intellect, as a human you'll think you possess insight, knowledge, mental cognition, wisdom and profundity until you go up against this fucking brilliant game's cryptic obscure mystifying puzzles of complete perplexment in it's totality.

Such a shame Infogrames is no more (or the AITD franchise). I loved playing this on PSOne. Wished Capcom or Sony bought this game and developed it some more. I see the protagonist of "The Evil Within" in Edward Carnby. I just wished Carnby had a trademark melee secondary as the monsters here are quite tough and an ammo drain. Great Nostalgia watching this.😊👌

When I played it, I didn't find the shotgun. Trying to dodge zombies because you know you can't kill it is one of the most scariest shit ever. Knowing there are zombies on the other side when you open the door keeps you on your toes at all times.

I was so terrified when I played the game back then, used to think whether to take the next step. This game introduced me to the survival horror genre. Great game and graphics for that time. Nostalgic and have so many memories attached to this game. Still one of the top games in my list.

whateva1983 they tried bringing it back when they released a new game for the 360 and PS3, unfortunately it was bad. It went the less horror and more action route.

This game scared the shit out of me. As a young child that was one of the rare horror games that was available for a 12 year old one. Still, it was scary as hell. The jump scares were legendary and groundbreaking for me. I played the Demo version for about 10 - 12 times and showed it to everyone I knew before I really bought the full version. It was one of the games I will always remember. It actually inspired my enthusiasm for survival horror games.
