The German version was exactly how I imagined him to sound like. The English version was okay, but I really prefer the German version.

I do too, which is so weird, because usually the german voice overs for video games are... not great. I'm so used to switching to english when I can that it's kind of jarring to prefer the german version for once.

This is almost frustrating to watch. Depending on the language you play it in, Sidon sounds and behaves like a completely different character.
English speakers get a soft-spoken and formal prince who's fond of exaggerated hand movements that don't suit his tone of voice. Spanish (both Latam and European) speakers get an enthusiastic and energetic prince. The Russian and Japanese versions sound more fierce, matching how dire the situation is supposed to be for his people, but not at all matching the grandness of his gestures (sort of like the English version, but without the strange calmness). Germans have a prince so friggin' innocent that he announces when he's about to jump (adorable, if a little younger than Sidon's supposed to be), and I don't even know what the French version is trying to imply.
Ah well. Still the best fish prince.

It seems like only the German's realized that landing after such a jump required at least a small grunt or some form of sound. I'm surprised that not even the Japanese got that.
Also, somehow all of the dubs felt pretty good, even if some were better than others. I guess you can't give Sidon a bad voice

To me as a German the English version just seems so.... bored...? Especially in the first scene. Sidon makes an exaggerated hand movement but the English voice is so calm... No one would have such a calm voice when making such a hand movement. :D Also, in some languages he sounds so adult, whereas for me he always felt like mid-20s or something :D

Kt Grs Ja schon, aber Mipha war ja auch keine alte Omi, obwohl sie in ihrer Erinnerung sagt, dass sie älter ist als Link. Ich glaube die Idee war, dass Zora viel langsamer altern als Hylianer und dadurch erst mit über 100 ca. so weit sind wie Hylianer mit Anfang 20. Und das meine ich damit, wenn ich schreibe "kam mir wie Mitte 20 vor". :)

Also ganz ehrlich, der deutsche Dub von BotW ist einfach super geworden. Auch wenn die deutsche Synchro im Trailer noch etwas streng zu beobachten war, so ist das Endprodukt eines, was mit Liebe gemacht wurde.
Ich liebe die Recken und ihre ausgewählten Synchronstimmen.
Aber ich finde es witzig, dass Nintendo in BotW toten Charakteren mehr Tiefgang und Charakter gibt, als in den neuen Paper Marios den lebenden Charakteren, ich weiß, dass man die Spiele nicht vergleichen kann.

Eject LMAO I actually did not really like the over exaggerated emotion that generally European and Latin spanish gives when voice acting, but I did like that both at the end, Sidon encouraged Link even more saying he was the best.
Tony Spaghettoni I like to think that exact exaggeration is quite in-tune with this character, since he's already so physically dramatic, and a lot of his lines shift from 'indoor' voice to literally excitedly capslock-yelling in your face, but in a nice way. LOL

Almont as if stereotypical of all dubs in spanish, and I would've liked it to be a bit different, buuuuuut no. Idk why but I preferred German, maybe cause I really like the sound of German in general. I've had mixed reviews of the German dub from friends (some thought it was awful, some liked it) but I didn't find any problems. But then again, I'm not a native speaker ahah.

personally (as a german) I like the german, Italian and Russian the most! I like how he sounds like he and link are already good friends in the german one, right after they just met (makes me really feel like him being a super positive and nice guy!) and the Italian and Russian one just fit him pretty good! and they sound really nice. I just wish that the English voice would have been a bit more... carefree?? I mean, he is a positive person and considers link as his best friend so it would have been nice if his voice and words would have softened a bit more. But still, fish husband is cute with any language

Just to be clear here: _‘Und hopp!’_ in German does _not_ mean ‘And … jump!’; Sidon isn’t announcing his jump. ‘Hopp’ is just an interjection, just like Link says ‘hyup’, ‘ha’, ‘ho’ when jumping.

Wow Germany actually did a good job at finding the right voice. Sounds very like a man in his mid twenty and that's what I imagine Sidons age to be. Normally they fuck up every dub they try to do especially in games.I think German, Italian and Russian fit him really well.

Ahahah maybe because you aren't use to listen to the Italian language, I think Italian is one of the dubs that fits the best for every character because they give a perfect balance of emotions. (yes, I'm Italian XD)
After listening to the characters, I am split between French and Spanish Latam to replay with now that the subtitle update it out.
Kroniso I like the french dub (And I'm french) but I should admit that the Spanish Lat. version is amazing. Maybe it's because I never heard a Spanish dub of this qualitie but I advise you to play in Spanish dude :D
