silentxrain yeah, but do some research, my cage is a little bit too small :/ but I’m moving out soon and then they’ll get a bigger cage and another little girlfriend :D but this time I’m trying to get the mouse from the shelter. My other two girls are albinos (so Feeding Mice :() but they are so adorable! They don’t bite and love to explore everything. Today I made them some toys and they love it :D they even eat out of my hand after just a few days!

Your so lucky your hamster is like that no matter how hard I try my hamster doesn't wanna be tamed she is very shy and fast and prefers to be alone she is so untamed she can't even have play time she doesn't want to go in the ball she tries to escape the play pen I don't wanna even try free range but yeah I'm so upset

+I am ashley Start with scatter feeding and move up the ranks, check out pet palace tv's video on gerbil taming to learn more. (Yes its gerbil taming but it can be applied to hamsters aswell, I used the methods she states on my hamsters and gerbils and they are mostly tame)

I love these ideas, so creative and fun! I have used the toilet roll pyramid in my latest cage tour, because it is so cool, Tris loves darting through the bottom two, but doesn't pay much attention to the top one!

Thank you so much. All the shop bought toys and toilet tubes around their cages and okay areas were ignored mostly but now I have loads of ideas of what to do to spruce their cages up even more (we have 4 hamsters, 2 rats & hopefully guinea pigs soon 🤩)
I didn't realize this was for hamsters until I made it and said to myself "Yea my guinea pigs a to fat this must be for hamsters."
The toys in this video are suitable for a whole range of pets not just hamsters but also mice, gerbils, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, degus, chinchillas, ferrets, cats etc. Obviously a guinea pig is not going to be able to use the tunnel toys but they can easily use the others

If you can try to get Pvs Pipes that is big enough for you guinea pigs
I use sewage pvc pipes from the hardware store for my guinea pig Pea. I bought elbow connectors and rounded extensions to fit together. They work well as ramps and bridges two. With anti-slip tape I made them safer and it naturally files his nails. The tubes are easy to clean, too.

Thy Nguyen it depends on your rat usually not unless his/her cage is messy and when they are scared yes big time
Honestly some of these are amazing for my baby Sun Conure. He loves foraging and I don’t have a ton of forage toys, so these helped!

Try kitchen roll tubes, they're bigger and more hygienic unless the toilet roll is only nesting material for your hamster.

Are sunflower seeds good for rats? If so how do you prep them and what kind
Rats love sunflower seeds but they can only have the kind that comes with pet food and I couldn't find any rat food with sunflower seeds so I bought hamster and gerbil food and I give the seeds to them as a treat ! Hope that helps
You can get big bags of sunflower seeds in poundland in the bird seed section and they are perfectly safe for mice and hampsters and small animals :)
I'm very late but it's best to get ones with shells and just pop some in (though the amount she put in is ridiculous! 4 per day is plenty!) I just use the ones that come in my hamster's food - I take out the sunflower seeds and give them to her as treats. I'm still in the taming process, and it's helping a lot

I would like to make the maze but i think that a toilet roll is to small for a syrian hamster.
I think it depends on how big your Syrian is, mine is quite slim for a hamster so she can fit through quite easily but I can imagine if your Syrian is normal sized it might be a struggle.🐹

I loved all of these and i made the hammock and pyramid for my hamster and she loves them!!
This is very creative and fun, but if your hamster chews them its very unhealthy because they eat all the glue which is toxic. Once my hamster got a little sick because of that
The glue used in toilet roll tubes isn't toxic at all, it's a vegetable/starch glue and is 100% non toxic which is why they are perfectly safe to be chewed on and why hamster communities promote their use as a budget friendly toy. Whatever made you hamster sick it certainly wasn't the tube :)

This is awesome video!!! I am preparing and researching about hamsters before I get one. I plan to get many items today because its black friday, so i'll be able to spurge on all the things needed and make the money go a little farther. I want to make sure I have nice little home for him. This video helps me provide new toys to change up the cage it up so he will not get board, thanks!
Start with a short hair Syrian hamster, it'll take a couple of months to tame but very possible. They live for about two years. Handle the baby hamsters, who should be at least 4-5 weeks old , (not several months, although those need homes, too, possibly harder to tame). Pick up baby hamsters under the arms , over the bedding in the Pet Store tank and see which ones are very tolerant and do not fight you. Look for calm. Personalities do not change. Biters will chew on your shirt buttons, sadly, put them back. The sex is easily spotted by experienced people. it doesn't make a big difference, some prefer one or the other. Start by having the baby hamster walk into a plastic cup to get it out of the cage and be prepared for it to "fly" , which is not safe. Talk to it, let it walk into your safe lap for several weeks and it will become tame. Ask your hamster if it wants to get out, etc. and do what it wants and they will learn your voice and associate it with food. Respect your hamster and it will be friendlier. Read a book on how to care and feed it. Get an 8 inch wheel, and toss the tiny one soon. Get a bigger cage than you think you need. They need space, a spinner, a wheel....maybe two story cage with a shelf. Buy "Carefresh" white bedding and never wood shavings.Find a good dry daily food and only tiny portions of wet veggies, carrot, apple, pea, a green bean, small , small portions. Alway shut the door. They will get out if even once you miss closing it. LOOK for it if it escapes....buy a playpen gate and trap it in the corner of a room to catch. I have always, 100 % always rescued my escaped ones.

I was searching for diy toys for pet hognose snakes but when I pressed enter I got: diy toys for rats, dogs, cats, hamsters and even birds... but no snakes... So I clicked this vid in curiosity and now I think that the hanging tube is nice for them, also I think the maze is great!
