Australia is known as the "Land Down Under" because it is on the other side of the equater. Austrailia was also the continent that England used to exile their major criminals to. Hence, women glow (entice) and men plunder (oblige themselves to the carnal desires); basically was at one time a lawless nation where anything could happen. Didn't know if you noticed the aussie accent in their voices.
If you call stealing a loaf of bread, a handkerchief or were "a troublemaker" for causing unrest by protesting or disagreeing with the establishment a major criminal. Hard dangerous criminals were executed in the UK and never made it to Australia.
I mean some of that is right, but the song is about the raping of the land, and selling Australia, while your being entertained and distracted by juggling, the circus and dancing in the foreground... in the background they are digging up Australia and selling it to overseas, hence, plunder
I think there's a message at the end of the video. There's the guys dressed in white that are walking in front of guys dressed in black, who are carrying a load, as a guy flicks a whip. The lyrics "where men plunder," may refer to the land taken from indigenous Australians by colonizers. I'm from the US, so I don't know the meaning of the Australian slang. Thanks, guys.
@@R777-RLM Yeah you are, Aboriginals had slavery amongst themselves. they were never enslaved by the settlers. You are reading US history onto everyone else.
@@R777-RLM Since you don't know the history, pretending that it is inaccurate is a deliberate cop out. Aboriginals had no concept of the ownership of land, the did have the concept of ownership of things, so how exactly would they be concerned about "their land" being taken? They also lived in a constant state of war against other tribes, stealing their women and taking their things. The history is well documented by all involved, the settlers were under strict instruction to treat the aboriginals as subjects of the crown. So, how about you stop applying US cultural issues to the rest of the world.
😂😂😂😂 please don’t take offence but that is the most american comment 😂 automatically assuming he was talking about the us. i love you guys. The land down is Australia that big continent/country at the bottom of the world the 6th biggest country on earth 🫶🏻

How can "Marriage4Dummies" not know that the "land down under" is Australia? The singers accents, them hopping away mimicking kangaroos? I like "Marriage4Dummies" in general, but their ignorance of such common knowledge is disconcerting.

Australia is the land down under!!! This song is more popular than their national anthem!!!
I remember this song being huge around the time Australia finally won the America's Cup from the USA.

@@politenessman3901 No, I'm not. Having a history of mistreating people is not unique to the, US.

@@politenessman3901 I didn't say slavery. The history we're taught, is rarely the whole story.
