Glad I know about about 400s to understand what you're saying. I still remember the explanation you gave me in person at holly springs with a pump right in front of us!
Great video! Just liked and subscribed. I'm testing a 4t65e for a friend of my grandson. It has no movement in any gear, and no codes. Checked line pressure today, it has 0 in all gear selections. Watched a video today where a fellow had the same problem. It ended up being a stuck pr valve. I would like to tear into it to see what the problem is this or the sprag, or the pump or shaft, but I would have to do it on a dirt driveway, and at 72 it would be hard on me. That's why I'm going to pull up a chair and talk him thru it. Thanks again.
The old style pumps work like the 4L60E pumps we use today in most stock rebuilds with a few updates using Sonnax pinless Accumulators and in some cases the smart tech 3/4 drum with 300M Shafts for higher end performance use.Great video!
What kind of valve body? Forward manual with engine braking? Stock? RMVB with no engine braking. Could be a few things, anything from glazed intermediates to flipped intermediate sprag and the front band is holding on the 1-2 shift in the pits

Hello, can anyone tell me if I need to increase line pressure with a aftermarket transmission cooler on a T400
What would cause a 400 to go neutral in second gear under power but have second when driving around the pits?

@@cameron878 had it apart twice, nothing burnt. Sprag is fine. ATI clean neutral trans brake. Reid case.
Are you datalogging line pressure?
@@cameron878 no.
That's a good place to start. I'd be curious if the shifter cable is out of adjustment or something like that
