Yes, you can. The mixer section is standalone and do not need a computer. It has line/phono rca's on the back for each channel. The only downside is that the beat effects are dedicated on each internal player, but the color effects are all available for external units.
Hey Kareem, I just bought one of these and I'm not getting any sound from both the headphone and the sound output to speakers. I've updated to version 1.10 and also have organized my tracks via rekordbox. The cdj players recognize the tracks and play them instantly but the master channel gives off no sound. Helpless I resorted to virtual dj but there was still no sound coming from the unit just the laptop. Jog wheel works very poorly as do the effects on the cdj player panel. Could this be a faulty unit or did or am I missing something here? Please help! Many thanks!

I already use Rekordbox for a year with the DDJ RB. I want to have a cheap standalone system ready to use for my whole rekordbox library. Will it read all my tags and allow sorting after them?
It is completely compatible with Rekordbox DJ and Rekordbox analyzed files on a USB. If you have the latest version of RB5, it's just pnp. When using RB DJ, if there's a newer driver available, RB will tell you and just accept to update. In standalone mode it is best used with an iPad to get access to the full screen browser mode. The onboard screens are tiny and suites best for fixed sets where you have your songs already sorted in a playlist or a smaller number of tracks to chose from, as the whole file name or Artist - Track name (Remix) will have to scroll to show it all. With the use of an iPad, that's not an issue, and you can use up to 10 000 tracks exported to a USB device. In controller mode the limit will be set by the software used. I have had this setup as my third option for smaller jobs, but I'm about to sell the whole setup, (the R1 unit, iPAd and laptop) as it's not being used enough to spend the time it takes to update and maintain the software and music library. I work as a pro DJ , so both the iPad and the laptop are dedicated for use with the XDJ-R1 only. As I have 2 modular XDJ/CDJ setups, this setup has only been used by me on 4 events. All the gear is kept in a Magma soft case and a laptop bag, so it is in excellent condition. I will soon make a demo video to show the whole setup in use for anyone interested in a complete setup for instant use, cheaper than the XDJ-RR, which is the cheapest stand alone all-in-one unit Pioneer has to offer for now and which is a Rekordbox/Rekordbox DJ system only.

No, just a timeline, like the CDJ-350. It is best used with an iPad/Remotebox for browsing and remote control. If wave forms are required, it's only available in controller mode on the laptop screen. For a unit introduced in 2013 that sell for less than $500, used, in prime condition, it is a little too much to ask for big moving wave forms, but still it is a very complete DJ solution and has no competition in its class. Any other solution with similar specs will cost you a lot more money. Even without the wave forms, if you are on a tight budget and need a very allround DJ system, this is probably still the best option in 2020. Especially if you want to use the same music library on Pioneer club gear, as all you need to do is to change the settings in Rekordbox to use with CDJ's and release/eject the USB device. In reverse when you go back to using the R1 again. No need for separate USB devices as long as the music library is less than 10 000 tracks, which is the limit for the R1.
Only in regard to using the iPad for remote control using the Remotebox app. You still need a computer with Rekordbox to create the music library that you export to a USB device that you plug into the XDJ-R1.
yes is very good but i think i like with 4 faders because i can use 2 decks on traktor and 2 decks cd it all be cool for to do master mix thank you for support our i can wait end build next one with 4 faders thank for support and help

so just actualy have do beatmatch with your ears. where´s the problem with beatmatching? Every dj should be able to do this ;)
pitch lock is where when you beat match and it doesnt get deeper when you go down in speed and higher in pitch when you go up in speed.
