Wow, I got in the 'wayback machine' on this trip! What a different but lovely ride RCG. I mainly ride with you through the snow. I started out watching Switzerland rail trips, then began travelling with you on the passenger service through Norway. You don't know it, but we have travelled man, many miles together and never had a bad trip. For me anyway. I'm not sure how much you enjoyed that wild night ride over the high mountain pass with no signals and restricted visibility. I even enjoyed sneaking through the back alleys and outskirts of towns riding the night freight like an American Hobo! Thanks for all the great times we spent together, free an untethered through majesty of your country.
The trip over the mountain with lots of service disruptions are not the best ones. LOL, but it is kind of welcome because you get to use everything you know in those situations :D keeping yourself sharp :D
RCG, Looking at your older videos, I like how back then you didn't fast forwarded through the times when you were picking up passengers. Gives a 'more real' feeling to the video. Watching your videos is definitely addictive. Jon, watching from the USA.
It's a balancing thing. I cut out things now due to the Maximum File size youtube will accept (128GB) vs resolution of videos. Very different from the Bergen line! Mostly level, lots of beautiful farmland, a bit of water, and a different approach to Oslo. I'm curious about the curb that parallels the tracks on the first half of the video. It makes me wonder if this was originally laid out with a third rail and then converted to catenary.
If the 'curb' you are referring to is the light-coloured strip alongside the track then it is actually a concrete channel ( with lid ) that holds various cables.
Hey HCG, what Loco were you driving in this video? Even your old ones are so good I have to keep going back and re-watching them. @@RailCowGirl It might be old, but I have to tell you that I really enjoy it each time I see it. There is something about this trip that I like.
