Stop putting yourself down you are a wonderful artist we all make mistakes we always learn from our mistakes I color for many years I did 466 pictures and it took me a long time
Thanks so much Deb, if only! Sadly my finances don't allow me to jump in to get the rest at the moment, but perhaps next year I could add more to them. They have blended very nicely, even when the colours were a bit more of a jump than I'd normally choose. I really enjoyed this page, and the markers. I'm very tempted to try to do a marker page each month. Thanks so much for your kind words, x ❤️🫶🏻💗
Your picture looks beautiful! I really like the Ohuhu alcohol markers and purchased the Landscape Kaala set which is the one with a fine tip during the Prime day sale. I’m hoping to use markers a lot more in my colouring xx
Thanks K❤️🫶🏻 Ive never used them before, so it was really nice to see them in real life. I really enjoyed using them on this, it was a fun page. Hmm perhaps a landscape set might round these off nicely. I'd like them all, but I can't run to it at the moment. I'm thinking I might try and do a marker page each month, it might make me use some of my Amazon printed books more. Hope you are enjoying half term now! thank goodness!👍😁
Thanks so much,❤️ I am tempted to add to these sets, they are nice to use, and the prices are far more reasonable. The thought of having to buy Copic ink does terrify my bank account! 😂 It's nice to use a pen with out really worrying about the cost to refill it!. 🫶🏻
It looks absolutely amazing, your blending was perfect, I learned a lot in this video, I have the Pastel set from Ohuhu and I want to extend my set in the future, I only have some cheap ones from Action a shop with cheap materials in the Netherlands. Thank you for this great video, I really enjoyed watching it. Have a really nice weekend dear Wendy 🥰💜
Aaah thanks so much, I don't use my markers a huge amount, and this was the first time using these, so i wasn't totally sure how they would behave. I was impressed with the feel of them. Better paper would have been better, but overall I'm pleased with this page. x I'm really pleased if you found it helpful, I probably should have tested my colour blends first, but goodness knows how long the video would have been if I'd done that as well. This bright set goes well with the pastels, I do feel I can colour a lot of different types of images just with these three sets. Its just the blends that are a bit more tricky where the colours are a bit of a jump. Thanks so much for watching it, its great to know its helpful, xx❤️💗🫶🏻
I have the full set of these and think they are great! I’ve had them over a year and no issues. I couldn’t justify the price of the competitors for working in colouring books. Base coating with them also extends the life of my pricier pencils because I use less layers to get the look I like. I also have their water base markers and am equally happy when that is the only choice for double sided pages.
Oooh lucky you, full set does sound good. Not sure I can justify buying them all, as I have so many other brands, but I have really enjoyed working with these, I can see myself adding another set to this collection in the future. I do base in Amazon books sometimes, as it does speed up the process. Ive not tried their waterbased stuff, perhaps I need to try them as well? Thanks so much for watching, x ❤️👍🫶🏻
Yes, I've really enjoyed playing with these sets. I have been impressed by how nice they are, and the ink dried really evenly particularly on the background. The refills do make a big difference I think, it's important to be able to refill, not just through away. I'm really pleased they have started on that path. 👍🫶🏻 I will likely be adding to these over time, x 👍
I did exactly what you did, regarding a huge amount of copics and refills. That’s how I tripped into the colouring with pencils world because I was looking for a cheaper way. So I got those exact 1st & 2nd sets, for the same reason. Choosing not only what book and then which page…too many decisions lol. Love this artwork, so much fun to colour. I just wish she made them a bit smaller. Your picture is awesome. Tysmfs loved this video. 💜
Thanks Lesley, I know I need to plan more, but sometimes, I just like to go with it, and just see what happens!😂 Copic refills=daylight robbery!😂 I have refills for some of the colours I've used a lot (Skin etc) but the thought of trying to buy all the rest is frighting. I will probably add some more of these as I like them. Totally agree on some smaller books, I think she is missing a trick, printing some of these in the same size Josh Dunbar is using would be very popular. Thanks so much for watching it, x ❤️👍💗
I've spent all night searching through reviews on colouring books for ones that work well with alcohol markers in the uk. I'm so glad I've found this video and the books are cheap too. Thank you! 💖
Really enjoyed this upload Wendy .. I would love some ohuhu pens I just have some of those cheap ones at the moment which are nice but probably are no where as nice as ohuhu .. I do tend to use pencils a lot thank you so much for sharing 🥰
Thanks so much Emma, x 💗❤️ I was surprised how nice these were, markers are a good base for working over with pencils, ( Depending on the book) I do base sometimes in RjHampson pages, as it just speeds up the process. I colour mostly in pencils as well, but markers are great for a quick colour. Thanks so much for giving this a watch, x ❤️🫶🏻
@@wendyscolouring aww your so welcome Wendy … I’m always worried about ruining my books will have to try basing my pages and doing it to save on time and speed up the process thank you for replying 🥰
Thanks so much,👍 Sadly Ohuhu didn't feel like sending me the full set!😂😉 I'm sure I will add to them at some point when Im feeling I can afford them. I do like them, they are nice to use. I actually quite like this small combination of sets, it's quite useable, and easier to take somewhere. Thanks again, x ❤️
Turned out really nice I love mine finally have the 320 set brush tip and their marking refill for them now to. I haven’t bought any refills A-lot of people do comment on the colors not matching the names and lids and their number system.
Oooh lucky you having them all, ❤️ I am tempted!😊😉 Sadly finances can't stretch to the whole set right now, but perhaps next year I can have a think. I think that will be the biggest thing with using these, getting to know the colour shades better and figuring out which ones work with each other. I am finding the colour system a bit confusing, but I'm sure I'd get used to that when used more. Thanks for giving it a watch, x ❤️👍🫶🏻
Hiya Marillia, Ooh this is a tough question, its really about light hitting an object, all objects will have lighter and darker areas, where light hits them, so when colouring something "Red" we would need a darker red for the areas more in shadow, and a lighter red for the areas in direct light, as well as the normal middle red. Whenever I colour something, generally, that's my first job, picking light/middle and dark of each colour I use. I try to find colours which feel like they are the same but lighter or darker , to use like this. ( Hope this all makes sense🤞) Hope that help, feel free to ask if something isn't clear, x 👍
Greyscale can be tricky, it depends, greyscale can hep to teach you where to put shadow and highlight on objects if you aren't sure, but some darker greyscale pages, can be a bit off putting to work. Go for something with softer greyscale to try if you aren't sure, x 👍
Love watching this come to life. I have the skin tone and pastel set of these markers. They are very nice. But I love my Copic Ciao set. The brush is amazing and the ink is so juicy and smooth. I've been using mine for 2 years and so far not needed a refill. All colouring tools are personal to us of course. I love pencils. But I was terrified the Christmas I opened my Ciao set. But once I worked up the courage to start I fell in love with them. One set I don't like and don't use is the Arteza Everblend. They are streaky, weird colours and the inks bleed certain colours through to the pages behind long after the page is dry. So red ink bleeds yellow through the pages behind. That really annoys me! I should get rid of that set.
I enjoy my Copic sketches, but I have been disappointed by the faults, the brushes are lovely, but I'm just finding myself worrying about how much ink is left in them, and its just so expensive to buy so many inks. I think I actually prefer the caps on the ciao's they actually click back into place, so you know they are closed. I was so disappointed with so many drying out when I'd hardly used them. I've had to throw some away and replace, as they were clearly faulty. I was impressed by these, and the price point is much more friendly, and now you can get replacement inks, I feel they are a better option than they were. I wasn't prepared to buy them before, just to throw away, but I'm now thinking I will add to them as I enjoyed them. I will probably use them both together in the long term. I was impressed by how nicely the ink dried as well. Oh yes there seem to be a couple of brands that have that odd bleeding that comes through after it'd dry. I had wanted to try the Arteza, but the stocks have so rubbish in the Uk, I've given up looking at Arteza for anything anymore. I'll avoid I think, x Thanks for watching my attempts to use them, xx❤️💗🫶🏻
@@wendyscolouring Definitely avoid the Arteza Everblend pens now. Just about everything else that's come out in the past couple of years are better. The Ohuhu are definitely better. ProMarker are much better.

For total novice, how do you select the colors for shadow vs light? Is there a guide or just Intuition?
Would you recommend grayscale for total novice?
