I envy your relationship with your mom. I'm the oldest of nine now. My older brother Bob fell off a cliff while we were fishing back in 1979. August 10, 1979 to be exact. My Dad asked me on Saturday how Bob died. I told him he fell off of a cliff. My Dad then asked me if he was there when it happened. I told him yes. You and I were both there. I had to walk away then. Dad is 86 year's old, still working 4 day's a week. He's losing his memory though. It's not bad like Alzheimer's. He know's he's losing his memory. He's not freaked out about it though. I apologize for rambling. It just makes me melancholy when I see a mom and son fishing together. Love your youtube channel friend. Thank you so much. My parent's having so many kid's underneath me were obviously very busy. I do have great memories of fishing with my brother's and friend's though.
Man I just want to thank you for sharing this video, I’m a pastor living in North east Louisiana I use to live down south New Orleans area miss catching those red snappers and Jacks brought back a lot of memories, never caught a dolphin loved the grilling and the way you cook and ate it with your mom, lost my mom about 16 years ago enjoy your mom as much as you can for me, been following you now for quite some time really appreciate and enjoy your videos, thanks a lot
I'm a dedicated fisherman myself and your tips and tricks are awesome. I would absolutely love to fish with you one day. I don't get out on a boat very often but I fish Navarre Beach Pier and kayak fish in the Gulf when I can and the drop jigging on the kayak has been very productive. Fish on my friend
Beautiful day with clear skies love seeing schools of minnows in the water its a sign of a healthy sea. The big fish were out and you had a big one on the line and the shark that took your fish and rapala had to be a monster! Its ok losing a fish is nothing its just a lucky fish, beautiful dorado or mahi and that toast you made to me is a great combination that or same bread made as garlic bread but don't tell anyone.. Great adventure
Just an open question for the viewers..or Steve. Im new in my fishing journey but why not just throw heavy leader and line on the heaviest rod for everything? Also any advice for a good rock fishing rod and reel setup? Beginner so apologies
Love your channel, you explain everything and it's my favorite channel, I can watch this and never get bored, awesome you have mom on as well. Keep it up, always look forward to your posts.
Great video. Really shows who you are as a person by the way you reacted after that lost wahoo. You always stay in the positive. Keep the lines tight and the videos coming!
What happen to my invitation to Bama Maui, Maui dinner party? Please tell me you did not forget? Awesome video, nice fishing!! P.S what wine was being served at the party....😄
When you hook a fish while trolling your hooks will often wallow out a hole where the hook is and if you were to stop it would take away the pressure that is keeping the hook in place. Usually you want to stay at the same speed as when you were trolling to prevent losing the fish hope this helped.
How does your hand injury affect your knot tying? I had two nerve surgeries on my right hand, leaving it partially paralyzed. It takes me a solid few minutes to tie most knots, except for the Palomar, which thankfully works for most situations.
I was already wishing I could've been fishing with then you go and mention blackened Mahi with a side of gumbo.........DANGIT MAN!!!!!!!!!! I might need a bib!
It has been such a treat watching your content man Thanks Steve. I live in Minnesota now but grew up on the Gulf and miss the water so much.. God Bless you and family!
Those Stradics are great reels, aren't they? I haven't done any saltwater fishing with mine, but I have the CI4+ 2500 size reel for freshwater and it's awesome for bass fishing.
Based on your recommendations in the past, I bought my 1st 7'6" St.Croix medium action spinning and a 7' medium heavy fast Star Plasma. Now when I recover from that I will look at reels for them.
Great video. I spoke to you a few days ago in regard to coming to AL opening weekend of snapper and running out to the Petronis. We are staying in or around Gulf Shores. Is there a Marina you recommend where I could dock the boat? Is there a way I could communicate with you other than here? Maybe VIA an email?
You passed my fathers house to get to boat ramp. Love that area, but living in Savannah area I like Atlantic fishing almost as well as that. But you guys get deeper much quicker
Great video Stephen 👍👍Those are my 2 favorite seasonings. I buy a years supply if each every april when we come down from PA. Gotta love some good gumbo. In your opinion where do you go for the best gumbo in the GS OB area?
70 lb AJ almost spooled my 4/0 senator lol, that thing ran like wild, man I had a powerful setup, 300 yards 100 lb braid to some 80 mono on top, 130 lb leader and a real nice rod, I wanna try to get one on my spinners now
Can I request that when you get to your jigging location, you set up a camera that captures whatever is happening underneath your boat so we can maybe get a glimpse of those fish that get sharked?
I may use that idea next time we go out! Sharks can be a problem in the part of the gulf we are in also. Keep up the good work and have your buddy practice on those gaff skills😂
Hi, Steven, new subscriber, but have been watching your vids for a while now. I am looking to retire soon and wanted to ask your opinion on location. I am looking at Alabama or the Florida panhandle. Really like the area around Carrabelle and or Oyster Bay, but the Mobile area is nice too. Many things to consider. I have a twenty-foot Excell CC bay boat with a Tohatsu 115 and was thinking the winds might be milder around the Oyster Bay area. Let me know what you think. PS: US Army 1985-1988 and Indiana Army National Guard 1990-1994 (Desert Storm Vet).
Love the channel and your enthusiasm!! Quick question - why were you tying the leader to the portion of the jig with the hooks (in first jig you used)? Thanks.
I did that in the middle of a tournament was the biggest tournaments I ever fished. We just rolled up on our fishing spot and I broke my pole setting the hoo, It was a trotline instead of a fish. I finished the entire day a rod down and that was bad. I'm sure you know. I'm trying to catch up with your videos. I've been out of action.
Hey Stephen have the winds been as strong there as they’ve been in Texas?? I bought my first boat about a month ago and every week we’ve had 30-40 mph winds every weekend since.
Another great show Bama, thanks! You placed your tackle to the test with those AJs, impressive. I appreciate y’all keeping it real and showing you missing that wahoo at the boat, it happens. Confident y’all make it up quick! That magi looked great. Thanks again for sharing with us. Looking forward to viewing your next show. Regards
Hi Steve: Great video love the Catch,Clean,Cook, and Eat, type of video, however aren't. you a little concerned about 65 miles offshore on a single engine?? I loved the video keep them coming.
Thanks! And all the "what could go wrong" is out of my hands mechanical/electrical wise. It's always a risk and backup communication and float plans are a must! thanks for watching ! Happy to share!
Regardless of the weather and sea conditions, please never go off shore alone. Chit happens! Hope you've heard about a guy that went off shore trolling out of the Carolinas, I believe. He never returned. His boat has been found but he wasn't in it.
lol damn son, light tackle +200ft. , nope! aj's hangry fish ,go big or go home..ya big gear oh yes baby..this was a good vid, keepon briging em brother!stay safe..godbless!
That's what we call the classic high stick my friend. I know you didn't possibly mean too because you thought it was a fish, but you could of bumped the rod on a sharp edge not realizing it happened and that high stick just did you in. Who knows though sorry it happened though.

One of the best ( if not the best) fishing channels on you tube!!!! Now I'm hungry!!!
Hey Bama, my daughter CC and I love watching your fishing adventures. We also really enjoy your catch clean and cook. Keep up the great work!
Thank ya'll!! God Bless!

Really enjoy your channel…Catch, Clean, Cook and LEARN! Awesome, thank you!
Can't really complain about the rod, it wasn't built to reel in the planet earth.
Eh, true true.
Man what a crazy day of fishing you had. End of the day, you got a good catch. Great vid man
Great video. Really shows who you are as a person by the way you reacted after that lost wahoo. You always stay in the positive. Keep the lines tight and the videos coming!

Jack's put on a real good whoppin!
Appreciate the sharing, and the busted rod from bottom.
hey, I have a quick question. Have you ever had a fish get caught underneath your boat?
Can you answer a question, when you caught the Wahoo why did you not stop the boat to reel in the fish and gaff it?
When you hook a fish while trolling your hooks will often wallow out a hole where the hook is and if you were to stop it would take away the pressure that is keeping the hook in place. Usually you want to stay at the same speed as when you were trolling to prevent losing the fish hope this helped.
@@RyanGeorge04 Thank you very much for the answer. You can not learn unless you ask question. 😁
How does your hand injury affect your knot tying? I had two nerve surgeries on my right hand, leaving it partially paralyzed. It takes me a solid few minutes to tie most knots, except for the Palomar, which thankfully works for most situations.
Knot tying for the most part is fine, its the grip strength that gets me

The roe is delicious floured and fried up in bacon grease!
Thank you for your service. Love your channel! Where all did you serve? Thanks, from a fellow vet.
Based on your recommendations in the past, I bought my 1st 7'6" St.Croix medium action spinning and a 7' medium heavy fast Star Plasma. Now when I recover from that I will look at reels for them.
That looks really good! Nice job on the catch, clean and cook❤
Tell us how good the warranty was on that broken rod. Did they give you a new one?
What a great video! Those AJs are back breaking! I’m going to Tampa soon and try for some snook!
I suggest a Beckman Coated landing net. They have huge sizes and the handle hoop and yoke are all made of strong aluminum.
Great video! Thanks Capt.
Gong to be back down there in gulf shores on may 22 for the week! And you’re right, it’s beautiful down there for sure

That is one beautiful dish Nate, excellent job.
Awesome video as always bro
I saw more turtles last year around Horn Island than I have ever seen in my life! Glad to see them doing so well!
Great video Army brother! Tight lines!!
Yay! First again!!! God Bless you and your family, Stephen
Great video, and to see your proud mother!
You passed my fathers house to get to boat ramp. Love that area, but living in Savannah area I like Atlantic fishing almost as well as that. But you guys get deeper much quicker

Great video 👍👍
Great video Stephen 👍👍Those are my 2 favorite seasonings. I buy a years supply if each every april when we come down from PA.
Gotta love some good gumbo. In your opinion where do you go for the best gumbo in the GS OB area?
Billy's Seafood Frozen Gumbo ..... it's what pretty much all of the restaurants serve and it's excellent with freshly made rice
Any way I could go fishing with you? Always have been down there trying to catch a pelagic fish in the gulf such as mahi tuna or wahoo 🎣
70 lb AJ almost spooled my 4/0 senator lol, that thing ran like wild, man I had a powerful setup, 300 yards 100 lb braid to some 80 mono on top, 130 lb leader and a real nice rod, I wanna try to get one on my spinners now

Hell yeah!!!

Love the channel and your enthusiasm!! Quick question - why were you tying the leader to the portion of the jig with the hooks (in first jig you used)? Thanks.
I tie my leader to the "eye" side of the jig and tie it to the solid ring! Makes the action more "natural" per se
Another awesome video ❤ Boy, that Mahi Mahi looked delicious. Thank you for sharing.
What reel were you using on the jigging rod? That fish cleaning setup for the tailgate is pretty slick also!
thanks ! I love it and a Shimano Tranx 300
Was it a flaw in the rod didn't look like you put that much pressure on it 🤔
I did that in the middle of a tournament was the biggest tournaments I ever fished. We just rolled up on our fishing spot and I broke my pole setting the hoo, It was a trotline instead of a fish. I finished the entire day a rod down and that was bad. I'm sure you know. I'm trying to catch up with your videos. I've been out of action.
I would love to live on the water like that Its a beautiful view.
When you post it makes my day
Did u throw him back with the hook!!?
Hey Stephen have the winds been as strong there as they’ve been in Texas?? I bought my first boat about a month ago and every week we’ve had 30-40 mph winds every weekend since.
It's been terrible !
Wow! Never seen you break a rod before! Glad I"m not the only one! :-D
It happens for sure! Especially on very very light graphite rods used for light jigs
Can’t wait to watch!!
I guess nobody told those jacks ...that you don't give up either!!!!!😄😄😄😊🦀

They are pretty rare but have been caught numerous times here . they just dont get big here like in the keys.

I do not, I have a few friends that enjoy it but it's not my thing haha
The big thing/trend when i was younger was Dolphin/Mahi-Mahi Steaks,, But ive never seen you do steaks,, So i guess the trend is over. 🤪

Hey that was on my b-day.
You'll have that on those big jobs. That was a bad blank, should not have broken there.
That's what we call the classic high stick my friend. I know you didn't possibly mean too because you thought it was a fish, but you could of bumped the rod on a sharp edge not realizing it happened and that high stick just did you in. Who knows though sorry it happened though.
