I still can't get over how much work goes into these! By the time you are buzzing the final outlines to clean up the edges my mind is just broken from how much effort has been put in. And plus Kirby? Hit me right in my soft spot! Another great video, another incredible rug. Cheers 🍻
@@jemandjemand2362 each step is more effort than you realize! These videos are very relaxing to watch. I hope you make more. The carpets come out beautifully. You make tufting look so easy, but I'm sure it's challenging. ☺️ I also love your editing. It's relaxing to watch but not boring. You know just when to speed up the video and just when to slow it back down.
This is bewildering to me! I remember learning to make these in the very early 2000’s but with a single manual tool. It’s amazing how easy this looks now 😮
Another question came to mind after a re-watch! How big is the frame you’re working with, and how big can you comfortably make the rugs with it? They seem pretty decently sized by the time you’re done and show them on the floor
my frame is probably around 3ft x 4ft... you can make rugs as big as you want in it really you just need to make sure that you leave a small gap around the edge of the rug so you can fold the sides over :) I watch videos of people making rugs on frames 5 times the size of mine it just depends on the space you have and your supplier of monks cloth :)
First off subscribed holy hell that was cool! Second loved the fact that your editing and filming skills were both simplistic and complex. No usage of loud music, no unnecessary narration. You were there to do one thing and you showed us Third, low key you should have a video with the music from Toy Story 2 when the toy cleaner is fixing woody 😂
Was just looking at your About page and saw you only started UA-cam 2 months ago and already have 2.24K subscribers. That's amazing (as is your work). Definitely have a new sub in me. Can't wait to see what else you make. My son would absolutely love this Kirby rug btw.
This guy deserves more subscribers for going out of his way to buy all the yarn, get all the supplies to start making the rug, and for the end result being so perfect. you can literally tell just by his work that he has put a lot of effort into all of the rugs he makes and finally paid off when he has a perfect rug. this guy deserves a reward fr.
this was so satisfying to watch! clean work 🏆 may i ask why do you have to put the yarn in a ball first using the manual machine rather than using it straight from how it is when u purchase yarn? and how long does it take that floor adhesive to dry? thanks!
on average it normally takes me 2-6 hours depending on if there are any distractions. So, I'm assuming he finished within a 3-4 hour baseline cause he also needed to position the camera and stuff :)
Something about Kirby just seems like the perfect model for a tufted rug. Awesome job! Just outta curiosity, is that just regular ol hot glue that use use to secure the edges of the backing fabric? Or is it something more special? Thanks!
Hey ben! thanks for the kind words :) yes it's just normal hot glue, however I've heard some people do the cutting out process when the carpet glue is still tacky so they just fold the edges over and it already sticks to itself! Haven't tried this myself but will do in the future for sure :)
How much time did you spend on this? My guy I didn't even watch the full thing yet and I'm already hyped just by looking at the comments, I'll edit the comment after I'm done watching. (Edit: just finished watching, I must say it was ✨ amazing.
Thank you ! A usual rug this size you could do in approx 3 hours (not including glue drying time) but it takes me a couple of days on and off if I'm also filming as I have to set up the camera etc :)
I'd love to know how you got started in rug tufting and any tips you have to give to someone like me who's wanting to start doing this kind of rug tufting.
Thank you! This was done a little bit at a time spread over a week or so, but without the filming and not including the time it takes for the glue to dry you could probably get this done in 6/7 hours :)
The frame is made up of 4 wooden struts that are screwed together, and then carpet gripper rods are attached to the front (with the spikes facing outwards). I would advice finding a source for monks cloth first and then making the frame to fit those dimensions, leaving a bit of slack around the edges as I do in the videos :)
@@rugtrade Thanks so much! I hope to find a supplier that supplies to Liberia. Currently there’s no one in Liberia doing such a business. I will have to start small though, since I literally have to import the tufting machine and all other major tools 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
