Great vlog. I remember the police officers drowning......1983 very sad, all over a guy who got into difficulty trying to save his dog. Brave non the less. The largest loss off officers Lancashire Constabulary have had to this day. Great filming of the beach and sunset . Loved the drone footage too. Thanks Stephen.

My favourite part of Blackpool.
Always stayed in Warbreck Drive during the seventies & eighties and have happy memories of summer evening walks through what was then the Gynn Sunken Gardens, renamed Jubilee Gardens in 1977.
We always used to come towards the wend of August, around a week before the Bank Holiday, and I remember the illuminations being tested regularly!
The new LED illuminations don't have the same sparkle as the old bulbs.

Love the video, the sunsets are amazing in Blackpool, I take it that the drone footage was by yourself? I took pictures on my phone of the sunsets here in Glasgow on Sunday night but don't know where to post them to get your comments. Fantastic sight the sea and the beaches.

It would be interesting to see the southern hemisphere sun travelling in the opposite direction, another great video Stephen
Lol the sun dosnt move in the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere. Neither does the mooon. Both rise in the east and sets in the west. Trust me I live in Australia.
I know what he means. You are just viewing it from the south instead of the north, so you get to see the sun move the opposite way through the sky as opposed to the Northern Hemisphere. I've seen in from South Africa.

the motorbikes are heading to st annes , huge bike meet on the st annes road west carparks , near 15's pub, every Monday evening , its heaving when weather is nice , you should take a walk down there, goes on from about 5pm - 8pm in summer.

Walkon, I'm 61, nobody in my life has ever talked about flat earth, that shit started on YouTuby about 15 years ago when people started discussing the moon landing again. Youtuby is bad news for certain people. Nice video and views.
Hi I'm 63 and yes there have been flat earth belief that it was indeed flat.1870-1920. A gross error!!!!! This is recent history. The Greeks from 3rd Century BC believed the earth was spherical. No educated scholar after this period believed it was flat. However we don't educate kids now, we indoctrinate them to the idiocy of the day. 😊❤

Watching your video and I can't help but think if you get caught on them big sand banks that's close to the sea wall you would be in for problems. I know sand banks are dangerous but against the sea wall surely every access point should be usable.
The sun sets between those pillars, the sun is also celebrated in the design of the jubilee gardens sign.

You can probably see the Isle of Man from there?I was up the coast from Millom a few months ago and I could see the Isle of Man quite clearly in the west .I could see the southern Scottish coast too.

The beach is always changing, but the tide always leaves water pools in certain places.

Great video. Don't feed the flat-earthers. Thanks for the astronomy lesson. I'm sure you know, as an astronomer, that you need to be 6.6 miles or so above the Earth to see the curvature. Eratosthenes was Greek (but born in Libya). The Ancient Greeks also noted that masts of sailing ships would seem to disappear as they sailed into the distance and appear as they came nearer due to the curvature.
I can watch the ferries going over the horizon from here.

I find it unbelievable there are people that are still unaware of the indoctrinated belief that we live on a watery spinning ball in the pathetic vacume of so called space.
It computes to a waterdrop. Somewhat flat at the bottom yet roundish. Water must of had a big say and could explain the weather system we have. The vapour going up from the heat of earths core. Clearly an intelligent mind behind it as water is quite the thing. You can freeze it , it absorbs , it boils. Amazing. (A waterdrop thats just hit surface) 😅
The monument in Jubilee Gardens is for the three police officers and the holidaymaker dogwalker who were all swept out to sea in January 1983

The bikes are on the way to StAnnes bike meeting every Monday you should come. If you are on the beach when the tide comes in its a though somebody has lifted the earth and tipping it but yeah I know it's the moon .absolutely fascinating stuff

My parents had a b and b on 13 Dean Street SS and we could see the IOM on a clear day from the top floor. Also I worked at the Grand ex Hilton. Saw IOM all the time. Never been there. Is it nice x
