As I read comments here online, I admire how Marines both past and present still show so much pride and a sense of a brotherhood. I sadly was stupid and joined the Navy only to avoid being placed in the shadow of my grandfather who is a CMH receipient. Needless to say, I was friends with more Marines than my own shipmates because even though I was a squid by definition, my family is RED & GOLD and even though I was tried by my friends, I proved to be worthy regardless. God bless and SEMPER FI!
@Southpark124 the turd may not have been very *coordinated* drill wise but he turned out to be a damn fine 0311 in my beloved Corps. When it comes down to what Marines do............ being able to drill during combat won't keep you alive but heart, determination and a will to kick the living fuck out of the enemy will and THAT'S what makes Marines!
Thanks for posting this, brought back memories of the "snap and pop" of learning close order drill. I went through Parris Island in '83 (2042) Was in 3/6 in Lejeune. Best to luck to all those going in and Semper Fi
@chaoticspasm Yep... We were H co but of course we shared the barracks with G co. Now when I was a recruit in '87 that whole barracks was D Co. As the barracks are shaped like an H every *cycle* had 4 platoons. All 4 platoons would start on the 3rd deck. After rifle range when we came back mainside we were on the 2nd deck and after ICT (Individual Combat Training) we were on the 1st deck and salty dogs. I was surprised how much it changed from '87-'94.
@79dixie I graduated Apr 9th '04. Although Im out now my experiences in the Marine Corps (get called in from time to time, ha) I have the best memories and many life friends I made while in active duty!
@USMC7969, At the end of this video, when the Drill Instructor calls a 'Mark time march', why does he call it so quickly? Also, how does he get his voice to sound this way?
Unfortunately I decided to go 4 months after I cut my foot with a lawn mower. Made it to grass week, metatarsal snapped on the hump & bye bye Golf hello MRP, then RSP with the discustings. Still motivated... having trouble with the new GED policy =/ Hope to eventually make up for all the DI's time I wasted. When the DIs broke character while processing me out, the shocking part was that they weren't these overly perfect marching machines full time. They were actually cool guys to talk to.
@usmcsdi69 Damn 87? D Co is on the opposite side of the parade deck now. I like the H shaped building. It was kind of fun when the DI would send us through the passage to do recon on the lead series platoon across, before initial drill lol... Of course their recruits and DI would notice me or whichever recruit that didn't belong there and almost became us getting jumped a few times. I was there 07... Loved it. DI's ripping up recruits was better entertainment than anything you can find on TV...
Wow, seeing this from an outside perspective is so much different than from being in formation. I can definetly understand how frustrating it can get now. What training day were the recruits on in this video?
Booger Recruits pissed our SDI and DIs Off during My TIme at PI in 1999 during Drill All the Time....But us Recruits got even more Pissed with the Recruit. Luckily when we Jumped the Recruits Ass about is Unsat Nature he ended up getting his Shit Together.
@Tamayo1980 Absolutely! I wasn't too nasty with drill but my five o'clock shadow was bad at times so I lived in the pit falsely accused of not shaving. LOL. I figured out I was going to have to shave in the morning as well if I could find the time. "Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to the pit we go, we're in deep shit so it's off to the pit we go, Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho"
@usmcsdi69 the shorter ones were the meanest. One Woman, Mendes, I heard at the bottom of the Repel Tower and when i got down she was like right there in my face. That kinda freaked me out. :\
If you could would you please explain to me what exactly happened in this video? I am a little confused, and I would more than appreciate the help, I am just a little confused as to what happened.
That was a terrible right face. I'm a JROTC cadet and I can do better right faces than that recruit. One question, did he ever graduate? I subscribed to you, I'm interested in the marines.
@jase7725 Absolutely i would not trade my memories while in boot for nothing. It was the most exciting thin i did as a young teen. Now 28 i would do it again and still have fun.
this video is way old intro to digital for boots was in 03. scary to think we all maarched that shitty in the begining. 1345 engineers tip of the spear baby
@usmcsdi69 Well , we have the same idea about Honor,Duty and Commitment at UPS . Once you have been through the basic training you feel like you can do anything.
LOL the kill hats are gonna have a ball with him..Hope the SDI had duty that night or its time for games!! OH good togo first squad you got a nasty one in your family its the pit for you!!.. (sigh) lol what memories 3rd BN I Co Plt 3064 graduated Feb 16 1995
I saw more then just that 1 recruit fuck up, just right before that green belt slays that recruit that looked at the deck youll see another on the right side in 2nd squad move forward a little bit aka excessive movement. So bottom line this platoon was having a bad day of drill lol
@ilikezappa this is what we call "trolling", children. Stop falling for people doing these kinds of things on purpose just to get some attention by making you reply the obvious responses. Trolls are pathetic.
Junglist619000 turns out to be a fucking troll that NEVER served in the Marine Corps. Turns out he's a sissy punk living in CA with his mommy and daddy wishing he was man enough to serve this country. Disregard punk bitches like this.... they are all over the Tube.
I can't believe a driver from UPS is comparing his job to being a Marine. WTF are people thinking?
As I read comments here online, I admire how Marines both past and present still show so much pride and a sense of a brotherhood. I sadly was stupid and joined the Navy only to avoid being placed in the shadow of my grandfather who is a CMH receipient. My son left this past Monday for MCDR Paris Island, graduates April 1 2011. Damn Proud to be a MARINE Dad.
Listening to the Drill Instructor call that cadence sends shivers down my spine. Shipping off to paradise Island June 20.
We are a dept. of the Navy. THE MENS DEPARTMENT!
Gotta love that echo off the barracks..
Thanks for posting this, brought back memories of the "snap and pop" of learning close order drill. I went through Parris Island in '83 (2042)
Was in 3/6 in Lejeune.

DRIVE YOUR HEALS!
Still sends shivers down my spine.
That's FRIGGIN AWESOME! OUTSTANDING!
I cannot believe my 3rd hat didn't drop the camera and destroy that maggot after that facing movement!
@chaoticspasm Yep... We were H co but of course we shared the barracks with G co. Now when I was a recruit in '87 that whole barracks was D Co. Semper Fi
That was some awesome cadence. I loved it, brought me back for a second.
@barryjbooker This video was from '96. I've never even seen digital cammies.
My son left Jan. 3, 2011 for MCDR PI. Graduates April 1, 2011. Damn proud to be a MARINE DAD!!
pivot and step pivot and step pivot and step...damn i havent been in boot camp since 1994 and i still remember
After the 2nd to the rear to get them going forward again I gave the command CLOSE March as they were still in an open interval.
I always get a chill when I see Future Marines/Marines marching in unison.
Can't wait to experience this, but I'll be going to San Diego in January.
Platoon 2100 Senior Drill Instructor SSgt Beasely, Drill Instructor Sergeant Cherry, Drill Instructor Sergeant Merrell, Drill Instructor Sergeant Murrell
his right face corrected his problem inconspicuously. good move
@79dixie I graduated Apr 9th '04. Although Im out now my experiences in the Marine Corps (get called in from time to time, ha) I have the best memories and many life friends I made while in active duty!
@79dixie Good for your son! BTW.... it's MCRD (Marine Corps Recruit Depot). Now get on your stinking face and knock out 50 DAD!
Love,
Sgt White
He should have said, Sir, this recruit needs to go to the pit after chow sir!!
wow this makes me miss bootcamp
@mgkusmc Right you are Marine. And I will be on deck today for the annual DI reunion............... YUT!
He manipulated his right face so he can fix his dress and cover.
@USMC7969,
At the end of this video, when the Drill Instructor calls a 'Mark time march', why does he call it so quickly? Also, how does he get his voice to sound this way?
I think I started filming drill right after we put the red rag on the stick. I would say probably the very beginning of 3rd phase.
Can't wait to be a Marine! Leave for MCRD Parris Island on August 8th, 2011! so far away! But will be hear before I know it! :D
I was standing up in the little culvert between squad bays...., that's why you hear that bellowing echo when I am calling cadence.
Parris Island recruit, Parris Island Drill Instruct (3/96) and Devil Dog til the day I die.
Bite the end my sergeant of sulfurs!
Do not lose taste, sulfurs!
Many are ignorant - allow NOTHING 2 steal your joy sweetie!! That's why its called "THE FEW"...thank you for SEMPER FI!!!
That drill instructor Sound like a follow series DI In A company, SSgt Walker.
I think he said "This recruit messed up, sir!"
@usmcsdi69 Female DIs are no joke! At least the ones in November Co. weren't. I've seen both male and female DIs that were pretty nasty.
They were actually cool guys to talk to.
isn't it "Sir THIS RECRUIT messed up sir." not "Sir I messed up sir."
@jase7725 lol, it made you stronger didn't it. we all shared our time in those pits across the island. Did you ever island Hop? man that sucked.
@ledzeppelinnnnnn This was a Hotel Co. platoon but we were in front of G Co.
@usmcsdi69 Damn 87? D Co is on the opposite side of the parade deck now. I like the H shaped building. Best right face EVER.
@dmellow45
That is me SDI Sgt White giving him the head nod to move accross the street to film. I am also the one banging the m-16 on the deck.
He did right face wrong

It took me going through boot camp to realize he says "Alignment to the right" at 1:36. Go figure.

@barryjbooker April 1996.
@LastXdeth In theory that sounds good.... but this turd was so dumb that what you say here holds ZERO water!
@jase7725 NO, No lol he should have just said " sir this recruit needs and emergency pit call" sir.
@ilikezappa So now driving for UPS is like being in the Marine Corps? What the fuck over?
That was a terrible right face. I'm a JROTC cadet and I can do better right faces than that recruit. One question, did he ever graduate?
I subscribed to you, I'm interested in the marines.
C'mon we all know what we're ganna have for afternoon chow... babies!!! :)

Love,
SDI Sgt. White

I'm 15 and i was in ROTC and we took a trip to Parris Island and Those DI's were nasty. The Females were more fierce then the Males. D:
hahaha he did a sloppy right face so that he could realign himself with the rest of the platoon.
@Tlaen I threw him out of my formation for being a booger! Because I was filming he wasn't sucking his thumb!
@usmcsdi69 Well , we have the same idea about Honor,Duty and Commitment at UPS . Once you have been through the basic training you feel like you can do anything.
Thats in front of Golf Co... And Lol at Recruit Disgusting's right face. I got chewed out on that exact same side walk, but was never THAT nasty
