Honestly, it's his servants who were trying so hard to set them up at first. And I get why; they wanted to be human again, but things really only started going well when Belle and the Beast were left to themselves. Also, she certainly wasn't "locked up" considering how easy it was for her to leave the first time Beast scared her. If she'd left during the day instead of at night, she'd probably have made it all the way to the village! 😂
Beast gave Belle the free will to leave. He didn’t force her to love him. He locked her up as payment for her father’s freedom. Belle chose to love him. 😂

In fairness to Beauty and the Beast, Adam was an 11 year old boy when he was cursed. Why should an 11 year old invite some strange woman into his home? Especially an 11 year old that seems to lack any sort of parental guidance. So we have a traumatized 11 year old living as a beast for 10 years with only his servants as companionship and they have all been cursed into household objects, slowly spiraling into depression as he knows the curse will be permanent, dooming himself and his servants, once he turns 21 unless he can find love. Then enter Maurice, trespassing in Adam's castle. Who knows why he's there? The last old person who turn up cursed everyone for 10 years. So Adam throws him in the dungeon. Adam is technically the prince of the region. It is within his rights to imprison trespassers. Belle shows up and barters for her father's freedom, offering to stay in his place. Adam agrees and Maurice goes free, but catches her wandering around the castle later that same night, potentially endangering him and his servants by messing with the rose, and kicks her out. So now Belle and Maurice are free, but then Belle is attacked by wolves and Adam has to rescue her. He is wounded and Belle goes with him back to the castle to tend to his wounds. They spend the winter together, seemingly falling for each other with no further mention of her being a prisoner. When Belle asks to leave to care for her father, Adam tells her to go and gives her a magic mirror, knowing that he has little time left before his curse is permanent and he and his servants are stuck forever in these forms. He's risking everything so that she can save her dad. Beauty and the Beast is no where near as toxic as people try to make it out to be.
I feel like a lot of people don’t actually bother to read/watch the boo/movie/show and just jump on the bandwagon after hearing a second or third-hand interpretations of the work of art in question.
Not wrong about the toxic relationship between Belle and the Beast. One thing about that story that annoyed me was the Beast's punishment. Basically, a stranger wanted to come inside the house, and the 10 to 12 year old child said no. The kid was right to do that. Stranger danger.
Beast and Belle is determined by what part of the story you are in. At the beginning very toxic but near the end it becomes healthy. You can not deny the love Belle and Adam have at the end.
It’s not that everything with Nick and Charlie is perfect, but their ability to communicate with each other as the show goes on is better than many adults. They’re lovely.
I hate how the movie changed barbie and kens relationship. I grew up watching every single og and new barbie film. Barbie and ken are perfect for one another. Their relationship is extra Healthy and it’s clear they both care for each other. In the movies it is toxic and so it’s a pass but overall their relationship is 10/10 outside of that.
I have to disagree on Beast and Belle; yes they had a rocky start but as time went on they grew to care for each other Beast rescued Belle from the wolves and Belle nursed him back to health after that and then Beast realizes that he doesn’t want to be the person he once was and works towards making Belle happy which in turn makes him happy and Belle didn’t leave his side after he was stabbed by Gaston and Beast became his true self after that which I believe is what the sorceress wanted for him. The messages I think this movie is getting across is love despite looks and finding beauty and light even in the darkest of places. Also Beasts true self he became human again.

At the end of the day most relationships have a mix of healthy and toxic traits. It’s acknowledging and working on the toxic to improve each other and the relationship that make couples succeed long term.

I love Harley and Ivy, but in the comics, it always ends because the moment Harley starts being an "anti-hero", they break up because Ivy straight up doesnt care about changing her goals. Her main goal has always been "The Green" aka Earth over humanity and would exclude Harley due to their love but the moment they break up, Harley becomes "irrelevant" so to speak. In the show, they're already showing hints of that conflict, when Harley was trying to find out who killed Nightwing, but the showrunners are choosing to use Lex being misogynistic in order for Ivy to focus her anger towards him rather than her goal of saving "The Green" at the expense of humanity and their relationship.
Ivy has also been an anti-hero in the comics. I recall at one point that she gave up her "green" goals in order to help some orphaned children. Batman even let her keep the children.
I'm not sure why I feel this way but I think Sharon has finally won my heart... I felt like she was always trying to be the center of attention before... but then I realized that this channel was putting her in the spotlight and she kind of had to deliver... Most episodes she is just normal (like this one)... So, I'm coming to the conclusion that she kind of has an on screen and off screen persona... Locking Belle up? That's not quite right. Her dad was locked up and was willing to take his place, and Beasts' servants convinced him to not lock her in the tower but give her a suitable room. As for the love aspect, just a nudge in the right direction is enough. They didn't hit you over the head with it. Before Belle even showed up at the castle, Beast was in despair of ever being human again because of his past transgressions, but once Belle showed up Beast starting seeing things differently. The natural progession of time Beast and Belle spent together they starting seeing the good each other, and, well, you know how their relationship winds up. I'd say healthy relationship. Their relationship was a natural progression of falling in love.
Plus, he was 10-11 years old when he didn’t let the witch in. A child responsible for the safety of his people. And she was evil by cursing everyone, even kids and animals.
God, Ezra and aria was so gross. I adore pll, two of the couples Haleb (Hannah and caleb) and spoby (Spencer and toby) are two of my favorite couples ever in media, but the other two couples were both toxic af. The fact they ended the show giving the other two an ending and not Spencer and Toby still pisses me off so so much.

Speaking from experience, one of my relationships started healthy, and then began to become toxic within a month of being together. We were friends before starting a relationship. I ended it the moment he started to try to control who I could talk
People really forget that Belle entered into a contract with the Beast (Adam) in exchange for her father's freedom. She could've just let her father rot in that jail and left. She was not kidnapped but made her choice to switch places with her father.
Still not a great personality trait to lock any people up in the first place when they have done nothing wrong. I mean yeah, technically Maurice was sort of breaking in, but he was in need of help. But since Beast really grew as a person and Belle only developed her feelings for him slowly the more he improved, I‘d still judge their romantic relationship as healthy because they get there.
Beauty and the Beast seemed quite healthy to me because as other reviewers have said she chose to take her father's place and he did eventually let her leave. Seems a bit rigged; every straight couple got voted as toxic while every LGBTQIA couple was called healthy.
They all consider Beauty and the Beast toxic, but a show with a serial killer for a boyfriend who kills his girlfriend has at least one person who says it's healthy.

I love Harley and Ivy, but in the comics, it always ends because the moment Harley starts being an "anti-hero", they break up because Ivy straight up doesnt care about changing her goals.
Her main goal has always been "The Green" aka Earth over humanity and would exclude Harley due to their love but the moment they break up, Harley becomes "irrelevant" so to speak.
In the show, they're already showing hints of that conflict, when Harley was trying to find out who killed Nightwing, but the showrunners are choosing to use Lex being misogynistic in order for Ivy to focus her anger towards him rather than her goal of saving "The Green" at the expense of humanity and their relationship.
Ivy has also been an anti-hero in the comics. I recall at one point that she gave up her "green" goals in order to help some orphaned children. Batman even let her keep the children.

I'm not sure why I feel this way but I think Sharon has finally won my heart... I felt like she was always trying to be the center of attention before... but then I realized that this channel was putting her in the spotlight and she kind of had to deliver... Most episodes she is just normal (like this one)... So, I'm coming to the conclusion that she kind of has an on screen and off screen persona... So, sorry to Sharon for the harsh criticism I've given you before!

Locking Belle up? That's not quite right. Her dad was locked up and was willing to take his place, and Beasts' servants convinced him to not lock her in the tower but give her a suitable room. As for the love aspect, just a nudge in the right direction is enough. They didn't hit you over the head with it. Before Belle even showed up at the castle, Beast was in despair of ever being human again because of his past transgressions, but once Belle showed up Beast starting seeing things differently. The natural progession of time Beast and Belle spent together they starting seeing the good each other, and, well, you know how their relationship winds up. I'd say healthy relationship. Their relationship was a natural progression of falling in love.
Plus, he was 10-11 years old when he didn’t let the witch in. A child responsible for the safety of his people. And she was evil by cursing everyone, even kids and animals.

God, Ezra and aria was so gross. I adore pll, two of the couples Haleb (Hannah and caleb) and spoby (Spencer and toby) are two of my favorite couples ever in media, but the other two couples were both toxic af. The fact they ended the show giving the other two an ending and not Spencer and Toby still pisses me off so so much.

People really forget that Belle entered into a contract with the Beast (Adam) in exchange for her father's freedom. She could've just let her father rot in that jail and left. She was not kidnapped but made her choice to switch places with her father.
Still not a great personality trait to lock any people up in the first place when they have done nothing wrong. I mean yeah, technically Maurice was sort of breaking in, but he was in need of help. But since Beast really grew as a person and Belle only developed her feelings for him slowly the more he improved, I‘d still judge their romantic relationship as healthy because they get there.
