    Be a good idea to put a vinyl on that line set to cover up the armor flex so it doesn’t deteriorate

    Our NH winters have certainly moderated. What a summer so far too! Are heat pumps genuinely beginning to provide value here? I've been giving very serious to mini-splits. And while I truly have no idea which brand to invest in, perhaps I should seriously consider a model with a heat pump. The real selling point would be if during the fall and the spring, the heat pump turned out to be more cost-effective than the FHW-oil. God-forbid the heat pump could actually augment the boiler in the winter.

    Question, did you install heat strips within the air handler as well?

    Do you braze or stay brite sweat the linesets?

    • @BlueCollarBiceps
      @BlueCollarBiceps  Місяць тому

      I solder with the stay brite! Really don’t see a need to braze a lot of these jobs when it’s way quicker and easier to do this and it’s proven you know?

    Why both lines insulated? Just had 3t HP Bosch IDS20 installed and tech said just the larger pipe. Inspector said same thing when he inspected for the town. Not needed. Why here?

      The ultimate answer here is that they should both be insulated for efficiency reasons. Doesn’t “need” to be done

    is it normal for my bosch bova to run for a very long period of time? and is it using a lot of energy to do so? im a new owner of one

    • @BlueCollarBiceps
      @BlueCollarBiceps  3 місяці тому

      Yes! They will run quite often given the outdoor conditions. They are wonderful systems and they are modulating so although it may be running often, it is only dc voltage and extremely efficient. Hope this helps!

    1 of a few things i hated about the bosch odu is the clearance to work around the service valves, like wtf! it's so tight! i can not fit the ratcheting service wrenches on the 3 ton units. stupid!

      Seriously! Dude that right there does drive me crazy about the odu
