  • So you’ve just been diagnosed with lupus and you’re looking for more information. This educational webinar was created for you by graduate students in the University of Toronto’s Medical Genomics Program.
We hope we’re able to answer some of your general questions about lupus (e.g., autoimmune
diseases, similar diseases, and lupus symptoms) and medication options your health care provider may offer you to treat your symptoms (e.g., antimalarials, steroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, immunosuppressants, and monoclonal antibodies). We will also go over an interesting research study completed in 2022 that may become a treatment option for you in the near future!

I would recommend looking up the SLICC criteria, there are a lot of online resources you can review. Do the test and be empowered with information to present to your physician. Good luck and blessings, it is tough being told “there is nothing wrong with you” when you know your body and what is not right.
Addit: get your ANA tested when you are not feeling great. Same happened to me, I had negative, then 1:160 and a further 1:640. A negative does not mean no autoimmune, it can just be a seronegative arthritis
