As amazing of a scrambler Randall was....his ability to stand in the pocket and sling that ball anywhere on the field was a thing of beauty. His pocket presence was underrated bc of his elite scrambling ability.
When he was good, he was great. But there were times he struggled. He was smooth as silk in this game.
@@teekay_1 All the great ones struggle. The truly great overcome their struggles.
@@ProfessorofTruth He struggled to win a playoff game ;)
@@teekay_1 The Eagles struggled to win a playoff game. They never get to the playoffs if they didn't have Randall. One thing you never saw was Randall Cunningham throw a post-season game away with interceptions like some QBs inducted into Canton. The only multiple interception pooust-season game of his career was vs. Chicago, the infamous h"Fog Bowl."
When the Rams did their latest uniform update I was hoping they'd hew closer to their classic mid '70s to 2000 look. Love the Randal Cunningham era Eagles unis too.
Those uniforms are awesome absolutely beautiful
@@keegs2002Yeah they really were.
I just can't get over how awful the Rams uniforms are now. They got the colors... kinda. All the DETAILS are f-ked up though and it just makes it an eyesore.
The ones seen here are PERFECT.
70,s 80s and 90s NFL was special
And yeh 70s
@@Supbros1902 70's were amazing indeed. Steelers, Cowboys, Raiders, Dolphins, Vikings and the Rams had amazing eras, if only all 6 could've won Super Bowls.
It will never be as good as the 80s but at least CTE and concussions are treated better
Amen imma 80s babies I started watching the Eagles in like 88 as a 5 yr old 😂😂😂
@@Phillygoat1983 so u were born in 1983?
I miss Dick Stockton calling NFL games during my childhood in the 90s on FOX NFL Sunday
Old School Memories
It’s so surreal hearing him so coherent and on point. Almost forgotten that he was a really great announcer.
This was the season I became an Eagles fan. Loved Cunningham so much. People don't talk about how good Keith Byars was though. He misses that TD catch, but he had such good hands and always caught 60/70 a year for a running back, which is not an easy thing.
Me too brotha... me too. November 12th 1990! I'll never forget waking up Tuesday morning, deathly terrified of Reggie, Jerome, Clyde, Mike Pitts & Golic, Eric Allen, Wes Hopkins Waters & them boys... I was waiting for the school bus and fell down scraped my knee then saw GREEN 💚 that's when I knew 🦅🦅🦅
Classic uniforms!
Why the Rams ever changed these unis, I'll never know. Great matchup of two teams that always seemed on the cusp, but like the Vikings, could never break all the way through. NFC was the 49ers/Washington/Giants tug of war with the Bears grabbing the rope one spectacular time.
Cause Kevin Demoff is an idiot
@@chrisuncleahmad They couldn't win in the playoffs which sets them back a little bit.
Another NFC team in that “seemed on the cusp but never broke all the way through” tier- the Dome Patrol Saints
@@chrisuncleahmad I didn't mention them because though the made a total of four trips, they didn't win a single playoff game. I guess to be fair, neither did Philly until Buddy Ryan was fired.
Yeah same here if’s it’s not broke don’t fix it.
Love all the rams games we keep getting. You spoil us nfl throwback 😂
Guys are playing on painted cement at the Vet , that generation was a different breed.
old school 7 step drop NFL football.
Classic eagles even to this day to get out to a nice lead and then make us fans sweat and almost have an heart attack at the ending 😂 flyeaglesfly
I adore the Rams' navy blue and gold uniforms so much. I wish they never changed them.
ugh disgusting. Every 2000s team adopted navy blue. unoriginal and boring.
@@RichV20 Why are you bringing up that irrelevant observation when the Rams had navy blue on their helmets since the 40's?????
@@RichV20like you ohhhoooo
@@PipeGuy64Bitthat was because the Giants and Rams had to pay University of Kansas to use their blue helmets which they did not want to. So, the only option was navy blue or the blue the Denver Broncos was using which was too light for the royal blue the Giants and Rams were using, so both opt for navy blue helmets to cut cost and not having to bother University of Kansas for their blue helmets since their asking price was too steep.
The '80s!!! Back when football was a man's game and America was a true super power!!!
@@MostAmericansAreClueless We literally outspent and outgunned the Soviets and beat them in the Space Race. Now the commie-crats are in bed with the CCP and are funding pedo commie terrorists like blm and antifa
Those shoulder pads are always funny.
Loved the highlights … I do wish the Pots & Pans intro was left in
Nah love Dick Stockton but I wish Pat & John had called this game. Especially with John Madden and John Robinson being day ones 💯 I think this might've been during the time Pat Summerall was in the hospital because I believe they would've called it initially.
Thanks NFL Throwback for sharing. Cunningham and Everett could really sling the rock down the field. Awesome to see these two squads mix it up twice that season.
Eagles-Rams 2017 please. Despite losing that game. It put the Rams back on the national spotlight
Bring these rams jerseys back, especially the road uniforms. They haven't worn those since 1999
Yes they have. Plenty of times. I literally remember seeing Steven Jackson in those unis before. I even remember seeing Jared Goff in them. They've worn them on throwback occasions quite a few times 💯
U can Google it
Damn I just tried to upload a GIF with mcvay chest bumping Aaron Donald in the white ones
@@nickbradfordsr80the WHITE jerseys, with blue numbers, and yellow pants. I know that they've worn the blue ones
First thing i noticed was no logo on the 50 yard line. Plus the lack of ads everywhere was so nice too
Thanks for the video NFL Throwback! Does anyone happen to know any brawls that may have occurred during the 1988 or 1991 NFL seasons?
See how hard that field looks? sheesh!
They might as well be playing tackle football in a parking lot smh Anyway, anytime we get a throwback featuring the late greats Reggie White and Jerome Brown, is always and only a plus 😁
Los Angeles Rams Against Philadelphia Eagles From 1988 Thanks For Uploading
Great video
Andre Waters amazing roughness, his tackles killed his life for real, what a dback!!!
THIS WAS INTERESTING................
These teams would meet each other in a wild card game a year later.
Lmaoo I watched Reggie White do the same hump move on the RT at least 3 times on that last drive alone 😂😂. He truly wasn’t human
You're got to love the gigantic shoulder pads in those days. Also miss the booing from the fans when the eagles screwed up.
Lol
What A Classic Football 🏈🏉 Game
5:43 12:13 I miss hearing the sound of air horns at NFL games
12:09 Andre Dirty Waters goes for Everett's knees. What saved Everett from a major injury was he saw Waters and shifted his cleats off the turf at the last second.
The standings don’t tell the whole story. The Rams would lose the division lead, The Saints wouldn’t make the playoffs & The 49ers would win The NFC West & eventually The Super Bowl. The Eagles would go from 4th to 1st & win the division on the final Sunday due to The Jets defeating The Giants.
Facts
This video is just week 10, not week 12.
big pad 🏈 💯💯🔥
The Rams ended up winning the playoff rematch
Yup 21-7. I remember Howard Eskin COOKED Randall after that game in the media saying he wasn't as good a passer as we thought 🤦
A year little, but yeah
Play in a out door stadium on Astro turf in the heat with concrete underneath even in the early Andy Reid Era the eagles try to add dirt under and added the fake grass turf even that didn’t help
Elite uniforms alright! 💯💯💯💯
12:06
Andre Waters with the cheap shot on Jim Everett’s knee.
There was nothing more annoying than when the EAGLES would lose to a team in the playoffs that they would beat soundly during the regular season. This game is one, a couple others that come to mind would be the 2002 Bucs oh & remember the 08 Cardinals!?! I distinctively remember during that regular season, we cooked them like 48-20 ... something crazy like that then turned around and blew the NFC championship game SMFH
Henry Ellard very underrated 15th in career receiving yards
chris everett
Don’t make him mad. You saw what he did to Jim Rome.
They used to be some much more careless with the ball back in the day
Eagles can win this week 5 matchup I have confidence. Then next week, they’ll beat the Jets and still be able to say they’ve never lost to the Jets the same way BigPuffer has never lost on Big Blue.
Eagles fan here, we should def win but the nfl throwback channel has me thinking since yesterday they posted the throwback game of washington vs bears and the very first highlight is dj moore (defensive player) scoring a pick 6 td but eventually lose to washington... thursdays game dj moore (WR) scores 3 tds to beat washington.. 🤔 might be a close game (6 point spread) but wont be shocked if Rams come up on the winning side lol (sorry i have a tendency of spotting patterns lol)
@@theuniversejr I’m a Steelers fan and every game last year except for week 8, I rooted for Philadelphia because I wanted them to win the Super Bowl as I saw potential in them after they were like 5-0 at least.
Why haven't the eagles used these uniform? There so much more superior to the current uniforms.
U know, I never understood why Jeffery Lurie changed them in the 1st place just to fight for the return of them decades later 🤔 makes no sense 🤷
The Kelly greens are an alternate uni starting this year. Will wear them in 2 weeks. I think the current midnight green is a sharp look too tbh
Atlanta/New Orleans- part of the old NFC West
Phoenix- part of the old NFC East
😂
So at this point in that season The Saints were 7-2
Shawn Beals😍🦅🏈 #81
Lol that field looks like cement spray painted green…had to hurt. P.S. bet I’ll say it again; Chris Everett
Isn’t this the game where Andre Waters dove into Jim Everett’s knee?
Yes
Dang, i was thinking the Rams were going to win by 1 point.
Tommy could last 2 quarters in this era
Ahh i miss the bare foot kickers
No way the western division had New Orleans and Atlanta, while the east had Phoenix. Was geography a thing back then?
The Cardinals were originally in St. Louis. Also The Falcons & Saints were expansion teams in the late 60’s so they were put in The West
@@cbod14 NFC West was a continuation of the NFL Coastal division of the late 60s
Dallas is STILL in the NFC East. Panthers should be in the East and Cowboys in the South with Saints, Falcons, and Bucs.
@@Fred_Lougee Dallas will never leave The NFC East. Get over it.
@@cbod14 Whoa...chill your tail feathers. I'm only stating that it would be geographically the optimum alignment. Not actually advocating for it.
And one other thing...the Cardinals were originally in Chicago.
2017-2022 Rams and Eagals will win 4 NFC Championship and 2 Super Bowl Championship
Fullbacks man.
Can you post a New Mexico vs New Mexico State Football Game when yall get the chance please?
Except for that horrid AstroTurf, the NFL was so much better back then. More physical play, no politics, better announcers, better uniforms, no odd first names that you can't spell, etc. Much simpler game to enjoy back in the day.
Is that LA Rams QB cris Everett
You don't hear fog horns like that anymore.
Chris Everett at QB
Jim Rome, is that you?
And Jim Everett justifiably confronted that little weasel Jim Rome when Rome kept belittling him.
afl throwback games
I miss those old multi-purpose stadiums
Same here
They're an outdated thing and it's better off if stadiums in the NFL aren't used for much apart from football games.
Veterans Stadium was the worst in that bunch🤣
@@JahNuhThunDeeTheOneAndOnly I'd argue the Oakland Colosseum was the worst one.
@@LiamDeegeAgree
Astroturf looks like cement paint with green grass
You sometimes forget how shitty the quality of the field in NFL stadiums used to be.
#flyeaglesfly
Whose House!!!
LAR all day!!!!
@@YourBoyJohnny94Yes Sir
Rams House!!!
The refs were so expressive back then
The Eagles had way too much talent to not make one or two conference championship appearances. Pro Bowl talent every where on both sides of the ball.
This had to of been one of Eric Allen’s worst performances
