    WARNING
Do not use the tool at the bottom of the TV. There are metallic ribbon cables there and I tore mine when opening my TV and it can’t be repaired.
To the UA-camr - please add an overlay to your video saying that so others don’t break their TV like I did.

Why would you pass the tool at the bottom to begin with, there's no snap there.

I never went to school for this and learned how myself. I got 3 Samsung 4k 65" curved tv's I use on my computer. It cost me less than 100$. If I payed for them new be over 2500$. People give these tv's away for free all the time as soon as anything happens to them. Best skill to have as hobby.

Thanks for the video, I'd never opened a screwless TV and this helped.
I needed to work on a broken Samsung 7 Series UHD TV that was given to me, but didn't have this tool. I looked at what was readily available in the house and the simple solution was 2 sets of Chinese "chopsticks" . The chopsticks worked well, so well in fact that I had the back off in 2 minutes or less. I have now added chopsticks to my toolbox!

    • @IBtraveling

Did you fix the TV? My un65tu7000 just started shutting off after a few minutes. I think it's a bad power supply or capacitors?

    • @robh.3897
      @robh.3897 2 місяці тому

Nice idea with the 'chopsticks'. I did the same. Basically took the double chopsticks (before snapping into two sticks) and carved a bevel into the butt end of the sticks that closely matched the same profile as the Samsung plastic tool. Worked like a champ. Just took my time and went around the top and sides to get the distinctive SNAP each time one of the clips released.
My particular unit (QN75Q7FAM) also had permanent snap clips along the bottom side. A tool can NOT be used on these. Instead, once the top and sides are released, it's possible to carefully slide the back downward (about 1/8") to release the permanent bottom clips.

I got free TV with broken screen to try it out. Used plastic chopstick, not too bad. It can be opened faster than traditional TV with screws, but not sure how many times as plastic and wires can wear out. And if you unclip bezel, the screen will just fall off, be careful. I took it apart all the way to backlights, no screws and pretty fast. There is only one board, so swapping it is going to be quite expensive. Overall interesting design, will see how long these will last.

I think my motherboard needs to be replaced on mine. The One Connect, works for the remote and UI, but the actually port on the TV is messed up or something, and the HDMI ports on the OC don't recognize ANY inputs, and i've replaced it TWICE. Also, my ETHERNET port doesn't recognize when it's plugged into the internet. The TV works fine for the apps and there's nothing wrong with the screen. It's just useless for anything other than watching apps built into it. I can't plug my PC or PS4 into it, since it doesn't recognize them. It did once, but the picture was scrambled and floating off to the side and had no color, then disappeared. Maybe there's a loose plug on the board, from it being wall mounted and adjusted all the time. OPERATOR ERROR. thank you for making this vid! you are very much appreciated!!

So basically you just carefully pry the side and top apart. I figured it would be something like that. I just brought home a 48" Samsung from the trash that won't turn on, not even a stand-by LED. I'm hoping it might just be the fuse, but when I looked at the back, I couldn't find any screws. I really hate it what companies try to get cute with the way their products are put together. Whenever I find a computer in the trash, it's like a Chinese puzzle box trying to figure out what tab I need to press to release each component.

If ever manage to open the back cover put at least an external fan blower for cooling the bga heat sinker even if cut a hole to the back plastics and cause visible modifications this probably will extend way far the life of the television. For better results put a second one in the power supply unit area. This is my personal opinion and an idea for experimenting but my technical skills are above any hobbyist or a casual user,so beware a lot while dealing with these fragile appliances.

I have almost exactly the same television except mine is a 75 inch. Not sure if you know the answer to this (or anybody who knows about this TV) but my symptoms are that when you go to turn it on, the (Samsung) logo comes on solid at first… and then these horizontal lines develop (which chops up and dims the picture a bit)... and then the TV shuts off and goes through that cycle again.
Usually for 10 minutes or so, it reboots, over and over again.
When it's just about to turn on and work (which it does usually in less than 15 minutes of letting it cycle like this) you start to see the main menu screen, etc. and then the horizontal lines develop and then it shuts off ... and restarts and then FINALLY, it comes on for a few seconds (with the sound of whatever the TV show is that's playing or whatever) then, it usually goes through one more cycle... and then it stays on (and works perfectly from that point on unless you turn the TV off again).
I'm wondering if that's a power board issue (rather than a main board issue).
According to the seller who sold it to me, It did start occurring, just after a lightning storm.
Do you think replacing the whole power board would do the trick in fixing it? Short of that, is there a particular part (or two) on the power board that would usually be the culprit that I could replace for a lot less money than replacing the whole power board? Even if I have to pay about 125 bucks for a new board, I think it would be worth it. It's a great TV once it stays on.
    Thanks!

My UN55KS8000F just failed. Just below 3 years old. Pretty sure it's a power distribution problem. Was looking for the way to disassemble it, but every attempt resulted in a small separation of adhesive.
Confident that it wasn't supposed to separate, I had to head on here to look for the solution. I don't have a 'jig' tool, but I have other useful tools that could assist just the same. Gonna look for any leak caps or other damaged components to see if I can find the issue, as well as meter all the inputs/outputs to help identify anything that's incorrect.

I am having a problem with my Samsung 65in tv. I have had 4 lenses fall off the set already. I opened the set when I had 2 of them fall off remove the speakers and frames but could not figure out how to open it further to get at the lenses so I put it all back together. Well now there are 4 off. Do you have any instructions or a site that shows how to do it. I understand that it is risky but dont like the way it looks.
    Steve

How about a 70" LG. Are the screws just the ones around the perimeter?
