This is my absolute first time at quilt making! So, I’ve looked at tons and tons of UA-cam quilting videos in the past 2 months to figure out how to make a memory t-shirt quilt. But yours is THE FIRST video that made it all make sense for a newbie with a regular and plain sewing machine! Your “quilt as you go” video made it look attainable! Now that I think that I may have an idea of what I’m doing, I’m going to invest in a lot better sewing machine. Thank you so much for making it simple enough for a complete novice!!
@@zmariedesignzmariedesign2160 - Three months later I completed my t-shirt memory quilt using your method!! My son loved it!! Of course, I could see all of my mistakes but he loves it. I’ll see if I can attach a photograph of it….
Hands down, yours is the very best tutorial I have seen. I also love that you don't film all the parts we don't need to see - like sitting down at your machine and showing us how to sew a straight seam. Assuming we knew enough about sewing in general, already, you simply and directly demonstated the assembly of this quilt. Exactly what I wanted to see. Speeding up the portions of the video showing the prep, cutting, pinning, pressing, etc., also makes the points quickly, and clearly. Wow. I love it. Subscribing to your channel immediately. Thanks so very much.
Thank you for sharing! I've made several t-shirt quilts over the years (as gifts for family). I like getting ideas from several sources. With the exception of skipping the "interfacing" stage, I will be following your design. I know my daughter will love this quilt on her bed. :)
I agree - you have made this SO easy!! I had not made a tshirt as you go for three years, and forgot most! Yours was a great video and I'm off to do it!!
For this size I used approx 2 1/2 yds. I bought a bolt of snuggle fabric. To calculate the size of your backing fabric, download quilting calculator app. Let's you figure out how much fabric to create different block sizes too. Hope this helps.
I just sat thru 3 complicated hours of video tutorials and you made this so easy in 6 minutes!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Great to hear!
Ok I LOVE this method! I have watched so many quilt as you go tshirt videos and this one IS IT! THANK YOU!
you are so welcome
