Boston doesn't use the Q like a lot of people like to hear or how some other departments use.....it's pretty much when you hear them laying down hard on that Q a box was stuck or theres a response to a significant event.
When I was there visiting the station in August of 2015, while my lil one was across the way in MGH PICU, I learned that 4 was the Only KME that made it to service, and later learned it wasn't in service more then 8 months. At that point, the old Engine 4, E-One was back in service, and 6 of the KME's were setting, never put in service, wouldn't run. Since then Boston had a massive order placed with the E-One Hamburg NY Facility, the old RD Murray stainless steel plant.

I'm going to miss these KMEs. They looked sharp, too bad the engines were screwed up.
