I saw the "hot snot" on my daughters Razor and thought it was interesting so I wanted to check some other peoples pocket mods... Just remember to wire them in series... Wiring in series doubles the voltage while wiring them in parallel double the current. Thx for the battery suggestion also guys.
Good setup, I picked up a green 7up one at the local dump and granddaughter and I found parts and got it running. It's been in my shop under the bench for 8 years now, but also have 7-12 (lost count) grate grandkids coming up, maybe I'll dig it out 🤔

Do you have to charge for 12 hours in a row? I bought one used yesterday and charged if for 9 hours, but I was weary of leaving it on charge overnight. Do I need to charge for another 12 hours or just another 3 or so?
just 3 hours if u already charged it for 9 hours but if u didn’t then yes a full 12 hours
Okay, so....I got the batteries removed just fine (thank you), but now I am using a heat gun to get the solder off the first battery contact and it will NOT melt. Are we sure this was only soldered and not welded? I'm melting everything AROUND the contact (wire shielding, stickers, battery plastic, etc) but not the solder itself. It's still strongly connected and the same amount of metal. What do I do?

Yes, that will work also. Expert Power is a decent brand as well.
I need help picked up a razor pocket mod free was well sheltered but won't run I'm not an electrician tho I can follow directions if shown in detail correctly. I watched another person and they had the same issues mine did but on mine one of the 3 charging prongs has nothing connected to it, it's bar I got a new charging system for it off Amazon came today plugged it in and turnt it in on position turnt the throttle I hear the clicking sounds still no power ,the charger immediately lit up green as well
Any suggestions? I also feel that the throttle was replaced because it didn't have indicater lights or the on off lettering on it .

Thanks for the video. I got a question though. After successfully connecting to new batteries my charger shows that it's charged but all I'm getting once I turn it on and use the throttle is a clicking sound. This is what my old batteries did. Maybe the charger it's self? Any thoughts?

Honestly it still works over 170 my friend is 260 it still goes 9 stock with him

Great call, I noticed a little bump in speed on my MX650 razor dirtbike, but yes longer rides for sure:) But I just finished my MX650 mod to 1800w controller & 48v motor with 4 batteries, woww about 28-30mph now, that was slight incline grade as well, almost scary fast, but for the pocket mod, I'd invest and upgrade the motor to a 36v and controller, you can find them used on eBay. You can search razor mx650 motor and controller, also get 1 more battery to make 3 total and this pocket mod would go about 17-18 mph (I'm 155 and that's how fast I go)
@@TipsNNTricks something isent right on that, I built a 1,000w 48v system with 20ah li-battery it showed 36.3mph with 26" wheel, rear hub drive. You should be able to run close to 55mph with 1800w motor
Hello I just saw this, and I'm blown away wowwww, I need that speed:) I'm topping out at 28-30 running 4 12v 15amp batteries lead acid in series so 48v but there running hot like 52v. The motor is 48v 1800w with 32amp 1800w controller. Here is the link amzn.to/2MJ5Vu7 My next project is an electric drift trike with a similar setup to yours. Do you have any video or photos showing your setup build? I've been watching lots of videos and now I want to build my own battery pack:) Also any advice to running my system faster would be awesome:) Thank you
@@TipsNNTricks 18650 battery packs are lighter last longer, go further per charge. (Lighter= faster) My build was a year and a half ago, I used a Volimaort 750w-1,000w rear hub motor, the motor had a blue wire loop that made it 750w, I DISCONNECTED it to get 1,000w, then I added a 20ah 48v VPOWER 18650 battery to the back of the bike, I will try to find a video of it for you if I can find one this is a different phone as well so new UA-cam channel, I will have to find the old one, I am trying to help people on my channel with parts and upgrades.
@@TipsNNTricks by the way be very careful building a power pack they can explode or catch fire if built wrong, watch a few videos before trying to do that. Also your bike my be LIMINTED to 1000w helpfull video

hi! I love this its so easy to follow . I dont have this bike (yet) I need an opinion. i'm only 4'8" so a real moped is out of the question for me (especially how expensive they are) so I was thinking of getting one of these just for some local stuff. i'm 4'8" and 135 pounds, work 4 miles away and live in NYC. would you recommend this bike for my situation? pretty sure it would be street legal since it's not a full blown 50cc scooter but my concern is it dying on my way to-from work.

Did you end up getting it? I just snagged one. It’s tiny but once i pump the tires up i think it’ll really rip. I wish the seat and bar in front had an easier way to adjust/raise

Same speed as before, it's the same as putting more petrol in your car, it doesn't go faster, just can go for longer, if anything it would be slower with the extra weight, these guys aren't electricians that's for sure!
How does increasing the Amp hours make it faster? That would be voltage increase.
It doesn't, it just allows the scooter to run for longer, if anything it would make it slower because of the extra weight of a bigger battery, if they wanted it to go faster they could have put lithium ion batteries in it, as they are lighter it would be faster. it doesn't sound like they know much about electrics,
@@davealvey241 agreed, I didn't want people to believe the scooter would go faster after putting in higher capacity batteries. I also don't personally believe these claims of 9ah or 8ah in the same exact size battery by Chinese sellers. They know you won't really test it. The best thing is to get good quality batteries or go to lipo like you suggested.
if you wanted more speed you would have to do a motor upgrade

Also, these mopeds have been sitting in my garage prob 2 years without any use at all. One seems to charge fine, the other, doesn't seem to charge at all. Best to replace the batteries I assume?
sure it will work but will take longer to charge as the new cells need more juice from 7 to 9AH think of it as a bigger gas tank upgrade.
@@DaveDaDude get a voltmeter and check the voltage of each cell to find out if you have a dead cell but better to replace by pair.

What’s the max amp I could use on this moped ?
With some modification to hold the batteries, you can easily install some 15ah or slightly larger batteries. Just keep it 12v and you will be golden! Also a side note...larger capacity batteries do equal longer run time/distance but they require longer charging time too.

Depends on your weight. Adults will go very slow. Kids pretty darn fast.
