i really enjoyed this video. and because you talked about stress and many audiobooks too, i can realte so much. i listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts, but making myself read an actual book feels like a chore. i tried it before bed, but then i only read one chapter or so. i am currently trying to set up a reading nook for myself to make it more appealing :D. i started an extra reading journal, but i've just decided against it again - i like having my reading notes in the same journal as the rest, and i don't want to write about every book i read. (i added you on my goodreads - i am mussolet)
Just dropping in to see if you're okay. I realized you haven't posted in quite a long time. I hope that's because life is amazing and you don't have time to be on the internet.
Re: informal written language from internet use - this kind of blew my mind and now I’m super curious about languages that had no official written form. Like Cantonese. Now I need to find out how Cantonese speakers text each other… do they use newly created characters for the words they say? Or do they text in formal-ish written Chinese? It’s probably a mixed bag but what’s the proportion and what are the rules… wow… 🤯
