- This is a 1986 Jeep Comanche MJ. 2.5L 4 Speed 4wd Long Bed
I bought it from KyleSVT: / @kylesvt
and you can watch his adventures with it here: • I bought Another Jeep ...
In this video, I'll:
-Replace (add) the manifold gasket and repair some exhaust leaks.
-Give Clay some manual driving lessons
-Change the oil
-Ignore the temperature light being on, and jam out to the actually-functioning radio instead
As someone with this same setup, I cant wait to see how this project goes
Clay did great
Thanks kyle ❤
Haha you said it. It's a wide open throttle switch. Check out forums, theres full manuals with diagrams of every system on these. I have all the manuals downloaded for my 87 yj 🤙🏻
I had a 87 Mitsubishi mighty max with a 4 cylinder, and it had a similar idea with atomizing the gas, except the carburetor had coolant running through it,very complicated and for a new carburetor it was 1,100 bucks, worth twice as much as the truck..This seems to be a better design..
non stop Waemid, so many uploads I love it
It's a krimis marathon!
that little contact when you push the throttle wide open is probably for passing gear im assuming-
@@SlushGamingg but what exactly does it do
@@WAEMIDIV I’m not to sure but I have a 86 Comanche 2.5 also and am watching your videos to learn more about it
Ive worked quite a lot with gm tbi units this one looks very similar albeit more complicated i would if you wanted it to run a lil better replace the fuel injector it always seemed to help my old untouched tbi units at least a litte and comared to a 1 or 2 barrel carb way earlier to rebuild
I wonder if they still make these injectors, and if it would fix the misfire when cold
@WAEMIDIV it's worth a shot besides chasing down the odd vacuum lines idk what else to try to get it to run right
23:24. My 2000 xj idles at 500 when warm. The computer learned how to save fuel. that aint nothing
Old school leaving her in first when you’re parked up, I always do the same just in case the handbrake fails
It's good habit yes, but the parking brake doesn't work on this truck lol, so 1st is all I got
So you’re evidently showing off two different vehicles there, because, in one clip, you have a vehicle that has full gauges on the dash, and on the next clip, you have a vehicle that has lights and different mileage.
This is the same truck, I just kept swapping the clusters back and forth trying to get the tachometer one to work, but it never did, so eventually I gave up. The clips are also not necessarily in timeline order either
Gotcha!
I need an instrument cluster / speedo & a shift indicator bezel for my 85, if you know anyone that has one laying around .
