Funny...we had Alan to our school years ago and I was so excited to thank him for his new jazz book that I had just ordered online. He smiled and said... "Oh, you're the one."
DREAM COME TRUE! I met Mr.Allen Vizzuti Today! 25th Oct 2019 ,He's even got the same shirt on!probably his fav, bro...he's very humble and a great educator....thank you Mr.Allen! :')
This is a GREAT video! Thank you for sharing your wisdom over the years Allen. You inspired me in high school (Montana) when you gave us a masterclass and I've been working HARD ever since.
A different mouthpiece won't unlock an octave of your register. It'll just make it easier to play up there. I know someone who could play up to high f with a 7c Bach as a senior in high school. My thoughts are to approach the high register softly, so your body gets used to the feeling of where those notes are

Anything this man says is vital for your playing.
this advice is spot on ... quiet playing in the upper register is the key to growing an upper register
My girlfriend studied trumpet under Vizzutti for a bit. She says he was so much fun and even complimented her on her tone.

It was good to hear the hiss. It is used in the DeMaggio method but you never see anyone demonstrating it. So that was a bonus.

I can't say how comfortable you would be playing that note, but you could definitely get it out!
