MAKING A BACKYARD BEACH AND DOCK

We decided to create a custom backyard beach alongside our pond. We drained the pond a year ago, scraped and cleaned the bottom, installed a new dock, and now it's time to build a beach. We used weed blocker and heavy duty tarp with spikes to ensure no weeds would ever grow. We sloped the base towards the water to make sure the sand stayed dry without water sitting under the sand. We finished it off with a stone border and large blue-stones to cap off the wall. To finish everything off, we decided after the video was created, to boarder the edge with 1-3' tall de-barked logs to keep grass clipping and debris away. There will be another video, which will show the final reveal. This project took over a year, randomly working on it while we could.

That's a much better way to do a beach. Everyone else will have to replace or add sand every 2-3 years because they have no retainer. Looks excellent !
