I've always been one of the first people ready to call out national sports media on their ignoring or disrespect of the Heat. Zach Lowe is not one of those cases. He was one of the first national media people who caught notice and started singing the praises of Bam's defense. He's never had an axe to grind with the Heat and he's not a hot take artist. Disingenuous from David to say "he had a take" while "I had a feeling."
Is this just a homer show now? Cause I can listen to Tobin for that and he's a lot funnier.

    • @williamb8312

Him saying that Zach had a take is not saying that it was a hot take and “my feeling” is the truth of what it is. He is in fact saying what he is saying is not a fact but a feeling.
Man so what if he was being bias a bit and acknowledging it. He is the only one right now being hopeful about this team not being as bad as everyone swears they are. It’s a balance.
I think David and this podcast will be fine whether you listen to them or not.

Yes they are heat Homers both of them are so far up the front office team's ass kiss up for their media credentials.
They say rozier is good enough, team isn't too far from competing in the east, they are fine running it back?? Do any of these comments make any sense?
      I think not.
The state of the team is disappointing, and the fact that these idiots think Zach is doing a hot take for views, when anyone with a brain cell can see that.
One thing that needs to be done is close up this podcast cause no one wants to hear the bs that comes out of these two asses. They don't even share a brain cell between them 😂

As a 3-year Heat season ticket member, who's locked in for 2 more seasons. I can appreciate the Heat's not wanting to tank and put a competitive team on the floor each season. Obviously, I don't want to spend my money and time watching a sorry-a$$ team lose a bunch of games.
However, the Heat is at a crossroads. The team is not nearly good enough to win a championship, but just a little too good, if healthy to actually miss the playoffs and get a lottery pick.
Heat Culture gets attributed to Pat Riley, but it's championshipis and Finals appearances were only made possible by Wade, with his play and recruiting of Lebron, Bosh, and Jimmy.
The Heat shouldn't waste this season running it back. There doesn't seem to be a trade that can help them compete for a chip this season. I would take a chance on both Zach LaVine and Lonzo Ball since the Bulls would give them both away, but most Heat don't like that idea.
So it's probably best to semi-tank to keep our pick for a draft that has a lot of talent. Trade Jimmy to New Orleans for Ingram. If he plays well, then maybe the Heat has found a young star to pair with Bam. If he plays badly, he's in a contract year, year, let him walk for cap space or use him as a trade asset for a star player.
Unload players like Rozier and Duncan to teams with cap space to lower your cap space even more and play the younger players a lot this season.

I was with u on your opening statement.. But Lonzo & Lavine? Your asking 4 disaster... Just look at how quick we wanted Lowry gone cuz he didn't live up 2 what we thought he could do with that heavy contract, & we couldn't get rid of it right away.. Lavine contract was waay more.. We'll be competitive, & I'm good with that 4 now then panicking & bringing in more bad contracts.. Guys may play better & increase their value 4 a mid season trade.. @@shawncain882

@@shawncain882 Pat Riley has only won when he's had top 5 draft talent carrying the team. I truly don't understand how somehow the fanbase has been sold on winning without top talent. It's never been how the Heat have hung banners and certainly not how Pat Riley has hung banners. I really don't understand this aversion to picking high in the draft.

Man we been patient since 2020. Still looking at the same core that needs a Bonafide scorer next to Bam and Jimmy. At this point Jimmy got us to two Finals. What have the Front office done to add to helping Jimmy and Bam far as taking them to the next level. David is always resting on the laurels of the Heat’s playoff runs, this guy lives in the past too much, the reality is this team is not that good and they’ve over achieved thanks to Spo, the Front Office hasn’t done enough to make this team better and it’s their fault they have no amo to make a significant trade. Teams have gotten better and that’s obvious, for David to say that the talent gap is not that great compared to the top teams in the East just shows how much of a delusional homer he is. Wes at least looks at things from a more realistic standpoint.

Refreshing to hear someone actually admit the Heat’s short comings and lack of acquisitions. Sure the young role players are great but the league is catching up and now lapping the Heat in terms in roster construction and that begins with asset management. If you’re tanking and part with stars for capital at the right time you can flip the switch when then opportunity exists just like OKC. When you refuse to let go of rising talent for true stars, you’ll enter the playoffs with a mid team, that only gets as far as Spo and Jimmy can drag them.

David is delusional. The truth about the heat is they're not trading for stars because they literally can't. The heat do not have draft picks and they try to dangle these g league undrafted players who are stars in their roles for the other teams super star. The hest over pay and over value their role players and then think that these other teams are crazy not to take a packsge deal that includes tyler hero. Franchises have been being fleeced by miami for years getting good players for a bag of chips and teams aren't falling for it anymore. Gabe vincent, max strus, tyler johnson, duncan robinson, these guys are stars in their role, but histey has shown that when these undrafted guys leave the heat, they are nwver heard from again. They have not gotten any supee stars aince lebron decided to come to the heat. I don't give Pat credit for reeling lebron to miami, he and wade chose to play together. The only stars Pat has drawn to miami are disgruntle veterans past their prime. We've been connected to stars every off season and nothing has happened. Stars wanted to come here and miami still couldn't get it done, it's because they can't. They have no draft picks and no assets that other teams want. Unless you plan on trading bam away, this team will have to grow their players into super stars, because none of the other teams are going to give theirs away for tyler hero.

Very embarrassing for him and they're never acquiring a star until they A) reset to pick higher in the draft or B) learn to manage their assets properly.

Barring an all star caliber season from tyler in the next couple of years or just a 65 game season from Jimmy this season they won’t get another contract in Miami. Build around Bam, I love the Ware pick he has a chance at being the best player from this past draft.

As a 3-year Heat season ticket member, who's locked in for 2 more seasons. I can appreciate the Heat's not wanting to tank and put a competitive team on the floor each season. Obviously, I don't want to spend my money and time watching a sorry-a$$ team lose a bunch of games.
However, the Heat are at a crossroads.

The Jimmy era is over. Pat Riley went from the Godfather to looking like a lost Joe Biden. It’s always developing young players, pick up cheap vet role players. Only to lose core talent to ALWAYS being cash strapped. And every season setting up to land a whale 🐳 superstar. Only to miss out on every opportunity because no one wants to play for Miami like before. The front office is stuck on running it back over and over. Just trade Jimmy, trade Herro, trade Duncan. Go with the developed young players. Give them sensible good contracts so we don’t lose them like Martin, Struss, and every other player we developed only to lose in free agency. I’m sick of this front office.

i'm sorry as a long time viewer from Hong Kong this show has slowly become a little harder to watch. I started watching because this felt like the only show that gave constant fact based analysis on my favourite team But David's rants over the off season have made it really hard to watch. Nothing against David I think he's a great guy but its just more about the approach of the show. There are plenty of shows that can talk about the Miami heat purely based on emotion and an undying love for the heat, and for the record I'm glad they clearly both care about the team, but if these emotion based rants down memory lane keep going the show is going to lose all of its merit. Still going to keep watching and I'm a big fan I just can't handle too many more emotional recounts of the heat's journey over the past few years

We seem to have done well in the draft again. Jaime and Jovic have genuine potential. Herro is still 24 and has a small window to show he can take another step. Bam is 26. We're close to half the roster being drafted players in a strong pipeline.
