to me, the Standing album marks the end of a band called Oasis, concieved in 1992 and active until 1998, and the start of another band, also called Oasis, a sort of supergroup lead by members of this other band with the same name, along with a member of another recently-deceased genre-defining band, Ride, and the frontman from a Glam Rock/Slade-style band that Noel was a fan of. All dropped at the same time by their label which they happened to share, Creation Records. This Oasis, not beng thet other Oasis, knebworth oasis, was never regarded in the same higher echelon as the band that recorded Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory. But from their start right up until the end, they were a darn good band, lived up to their name, expanded their horizons (now every member collaborated in the creation of the music) and with each year that passed (except for those where liam sang like he had his vocal chords shredded through a blender: glasto 2004, all 2006, brits 2007) became bigger and better at their craft as musicians both live and in the studio. That Oasis was vastly underrated. I'm sure time will do them justice.
Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants is the Oasis album that is closest to my heart. I'm looking forward to this video, from the start of the recording sessions, the departure of the Pauls, the re-recordings, and the re-build of a band. Where were Andy (himself already a established artist, at the time better known as the former member well-known early 90's band Ride) and Gem (who's story im less familiar with) when they were aproached to join, their first concert on December 3rd 1999 on the Y100 festival, the tour, Noel leaving Gem the main guitar duty when he quit for a while, his return and the Wembley shows! If I had it my way I'd have mr @CIGSALC make a 10-hour epic. But I'm sure that whatever we get on a couple weeks from now Will be biblical. Keep em coming!! 👏👏👌👌
@@cigsalc5531 there's this weird interview were Noel says the Pauls still got payed for SOTSOG i think you can find it in that one "Let's all make believe" compilation video some kid uploaded. It's a mystery. The official story says that album was a three piece one, but then in comes Noel Saying this... one more mystery in the whirlwind that's the story of Oasis...
Guigs and Bonehead are not credited as Noel re recorded most of their parts. But they were part of the first recordung sessions. No idea about if and why they would get money from the album though....
Could of Been A Great/Classic Album!? Instead we got a Good one!! You all know the Extras & B-Sides that should of been on SOTSOG!! Great Doc though thanks x
Alright mate what happened to these documentaries? Did they take them down? For what it’s worth they were very very good mate and hopefully you’ve still got copies?
apparently it got unavailable in my country due to merlin copyright infringement :( Do you happen to have it on Mega, Drive, etc? it was really cool but sadly I just watched a bit before it was taken down :(
standing on the shoulders of giants album was good, not alot of people liked it, but i think its one of their best, some great tunes on it
Yeah I liked it .
Underrated album with dark tunes. Still one of Noel's most creative piece of work.
Absolutely! It is so diverse! Love it!
WOW!!!!!! Had no idea you'd do a SOTSOG doc it will be BIBLICAL just like the last one. Thank you so much for what you give the fan community!
For me, LG peaked in 2000 - his best haircut and his voice was at its grittiest without sounding nasally.

If there would be interesting footage for 10 hours I'd have done it ;) Still doing some editing but it will be close to 90 mins in the end.
