  • WOT run almost to the speed limiter and coasting down to a slow stop.
This car is completely stock except a K&N air filter and has just over 103,000 miles and under 2,200 Idle hours and still smells like a brand new car inside.
Top speed is about 128mph on the limiter.
My favorite Crown Vic so far.....

I have a 2010 and I see videos of folks saying, "these aren't, AT ALL, fast".
    My car does 128mph...easily.
    It weighs...PLENTY.
    It's fast enough.
My 740il (oddly enough) was exactly as fast
    (albeit, governed).
    Again; fast enough.
I have NO need or desire to travel at 128mph, beyond confirming those numbers.
    I have.
    Fine.
    ...Now I know AND....
    ...128mph IS fast.
    Anything faster is...faster.
    Ok, Fine.
My CVPI is far more useful, durable AND reliable than ANY sedan (plus a couple pick-ups) I've owned or driven, maybe, EVER.
I work in this car every day (HVAC service).
It has thousands of miles of use each month.
    THOUSANDS.
    It has 207,000+miles currently.
    Nothing is broken on it.
    Everything works on it.
It drives beautifully, handles well stops RIGHT FRIGGIN' NOW, is comfortable and... makes me MONEY..
I owe NOTHING on it so that makes it a TREMENDOUS asset (emphasis on 'tremendous' for good reason).
    I WILL own more.
I will ALWAYS own at least one.
It IS as close to the "perfect car" as I've seen.

By today's standards, they're not fast. They also have cheap build quality, and don't exactly have the nicest interiors nor a very comfortable seat. They're slow. Not even talking top speed, but overall acceleration. I own two cars. A 2019 Mazda CX-5 Turbo, and a 2014 Kia Forte EX Sedan. The Mazda makes 320lb ft of torque just off idle, and hits 60 in 6.1 seconds according to Car and Driver. It's limited to 134mph. Gets 24 mpg average. 14 speakers, and a chassis that is awesome.
The 2014 Kia hits 60 in 7 flat, and limited to 122mph. On the highway, it's definitely hitting 35-40 mpg depending how fast I'm driving.
Both of my cars are faster, safer, better to drive, and relatively reliable.
No, a Crown Vic is not "fast enough". When a modern economy car from Korea can out perform it on just about every level (g force in corners, acceleration, gas mileage, interior fit and finish) then it's time accept that's it's time to face reality; it's seriously outmatched by EVERYTHING else on the road today.

I'd like to add, I'm watching this video because we just bought one for local spectator drag racing and I wanted to see how it runs bone stock (the one we picked up needs a bit of work but who cares it's gonna get beat on anyway). It's certainly not a car for daily use. Just my two cents.

@@jamessteven526 Cheap plastic is stupid easy to clean, the floor is usually vinyl, easy to clean. The seats may not be the luxury seats of the Grand Marquis or the Town Car (both are the Crown Vic underneath the badge), but those seats are plenty comfortable to sit in. Also note, this is a 5,000 pound car that pick itself up and go to 128 MPH without struggling. It is not underpowered in the slightest. It holds true by both police and civilians as one of the most reliable platforms ever produced. Also no car has the same safety standards as Ford's PI cars, with reinforced components to have the car hold up to 75 MPH rear end collisions without causing any serious harm to the occupants of the car. These aspects make the Vic stand out over your Tupperware covered Kia. Also a well cared for engine in one of these cars will do 24-26 MPG highway with a 20 gallon tank. Now you can be entitled to your views, but these are not platforms to poke around at when it comes to reliability, durability, safety and size.

Now imagine doing this at 03:30 (that's morning) trying to get to an active 911 call of a husband shooting the wife and son, now looking for the little girl hiding in the barn whispering on the phone to the 911 operator, and you're the only deputy within 100 miles, and you're still 45 miles away... You're cursing that the car won't go faster, and every time you glance at the gauges as you've been taught to do in a highspeed situation, you see the gas gauge has dropped another couple of 16ths... And it's July, but the A/C is blowing hot air because you're at W.O.T. which kicks the compressor off to free up a few horsepower... So you open the front windows a little to at least get fresh air, but the noise and pressure on your ears is like being inside a tornado because the prisoner partition right behind your seat makes the frontseat space as tight as it would in a regular-cab pickup truck, and you can't hear the dispatcher of the sound of the siren and wind...
Typical scenario for a rural officer on any given night. Remember that the next time you see a cop, especially a Deputy or Trooper who have to cover hundreds and hundreds of miles per shift. It's a thankless job, and society would collapse without them.

Gas it up before you hit the road! 18 gallon tank, maybe 10 mpg at 120 mph, and if they're only 100 miles away, you shouldn't have any issues running out of gas. And you *shouldn't* need to be driving more than 120 mph in RURAL country any fucking way. You chose to be a cop, and we respect that, but your complaints about this car are bullshit. If you forgot to gas it up, you're own idiocy would be the reason you couldn't make it to the scene. Not the car. Because at least this 4.6L won't blow up on you like the shitty Dodges will when you constantly mash the throttle. Don't get me wrong, I support the police, at least the good ones, but dude you have no idea how many cops I've spoken with who HATE their Dodge Chargers and wish they would have kept their Vics. Or gotten the Taurus instead of the Charger. Fuck Dodge. 👌

Isn't it always fun to push a Crown Victoria to the limit, especially an ex police car? I see you reached 122. The sound of the 4.6L Modular V8 is cool. But, I miss the older, more raw sound when the Crown Vic, during the '79-'91 years, had the 302/351 WINDSOR V8. I used to drive a '89 LX. By the way, there will never be any more true police cars these days, since the legendary, sturdy Vic is sadly gone. Body on frame no more.

Man, my dream car that I wanted so badly wasn't going to be a Lamborghini or an EV (those "cars" suck), the car that I *really wanted* was a Crown Victoria. I loved the body design and the way it sounded! The only thing that I came close to was a 94 Dodge Ram V8 Magnum. That thing sounded like a beast! The truck was a family treasure: some idiots drilled into the tank and stole gas, so we plugged a corkscrew into the hole the decrease the leak, and it took us from an empty lot in Fort Worth to a motorhome in Terral, Oklahoma (currently 70 miles approx.) Even though I sold that truck to a friendly couple, I still have an emotional attachment.
Although, the Ford Crown Victoria will be the car I want to buy in the future.
