Just curious as to why a lot of your gears are black, is that bc graphite or spray paint? As well what's the plus side of using beveled gears for a lot of this? Less binding? Or something else
@@606X did you make the beveled gears yourself? If so was it like a 3d printer or how'd you do it? I don't figure you bought them from vex because I can't find anything on their website about it
I know it has been a year, but what color motors did you use for your drivetrain if you remember, my team is new and we would like to make a similar design. Were the motors green, blue or red?
Yes, we used the old 3.25 vex traction wheels with the outside sanded off and then a flexwheel wrapped around it and then the polycarb to keep everything together
@@ramco5725 Remove the screws holding the motor cap to the motor body. Then use rubber bands to keep the motor together. This way, if we would need to change motors, we can detach the electrical part of the motor without unscrewing the 2 #8-32 screws on the bottom.
The amount of transparency paired with clear explanations is truly incredible to see. Great build man!
Honey wake up Ben posted a robot explanation
Dude seriously I love your robot it’s amazing
Bro these videos are actually helpful thanks
We tried to make a gear shifter for our tipping point robot… due to time we were not able to pull it off but this looks really cool!
Also can you make a video explanation on your tracking wheels and odometry?
How would you like it to be formatted
@@606X just ig showcase how u mounted them and utilized them in code

We’re those plastic nuts? 👀 Great job at MOA!

It's black dye. Beveled gears help the PTO shift smoothly.

They were blue motors (600rpm), connected to 36t gears. The 36t gears drove the 60t gears attached to the wheels to get 360 rpm output
Is it better to have 36t to 48t for 450 rpm or 36t to 60t? Also my team is called 6060X lol
Are your custom traction wheels polycarbon and a cut out flex wheel? Really helpful video as always thank you Ben!

what was the reasoning behind using limiters
Save air
What is the reasoning for putting rubber bands on your motors?
Hotswap, you can easily change out hot motors
@@606X How does the rubber bands allow you to change the motor?

All this just for my robot to solo
what made you intake not good enough?
We used different tiles when tuning the intake, also the frame of the intake was slightly bended on the plane
3:52 nylon hexnuts????
Yes they are still legal. Only nylon screws got banned. supports this.

Why do u need six motor drive for this game?
Offensive pushing power is good for endgame, preventing from others from scoring, and contesting rollers
nice
