    One of the best tricks I’ve seen is to soak the filter element in avgas after you have it removed from the filter. That will release all of the particles and they will settle in the bottom of the jar. You can then look at them carefully and drop a magnet in to see which particles are ferrous or not. Very easy and very thorough.

    I wonder if they apply a lubricant to the gasket seal at the factory. That is the only filter maker I’ve ever seen that says to install the seal dry.

    $35 is a horrendous price for a $10 oil filter. 😁. Then again, it is close to other normal 4X markup for anything going on an airplane.

    Are you doing the hours-based test period or the task-based program?

      @@LTVoyager we’re working our way through the Flight Test Cards, but at the rate we’re going we’ll have 40 hours, before we’re done, lol
