  • People have been asking how the DF64V does with pour over. I tried a few settings, as well as the fastest and slowest RPM. More of a qualitative test, but I could tell a difference.

Thanks Barrett for demonstrating the changes in DF64 settings and changes in RPM for the brew comparison with the SSP HU burrs. Look forward to seeing the results using the SSP MP burrs. Could you also test the SSP Cast Burrs for a brew comparison.

oh man, you going to make me bust out the cast? haha. Definitely great brew burrs, like really great. I was excited about the cast but usually do black espresso, so they got frustrating. If you find a bean that runs cast and espresso really well, its quite the treat, but its not an easy one. Will do the MP and hopefully go for the cast soon! A few more things with the stock burrs first. I am excited!

This pouring method called 100% bypass 🤣

Barret, someday you'll have to tell me where you got that wooden bowl you use to feed the beans into the grinder. It's so beautiful! 😍😅

Esprssso outlet used to have some. Tried getting more but whoever made them couldn’t get the wood any longer

How about the brewing time for the 3rd trial? Faster? Or more or less the same as the 2nd?

I should have mentioned. All 3 were more or less the same draw down. I’d say 3.5 minutes each give or take

Hi I have a question! If I buy the DF64V with the DLC burrs that come with it, can i put the DLC burrs in my existing DF64ELR grinder and purchase a new set of SSP burrs for the DF64V?

Have you checked the alignment? When you try a new burr, I am curious on how much work it is to realign it.

Alignment is fine. Realignment is easy. Couple minutes per grinder tops, if it even needs it.

Just got my DF64V and did notice how muddy it was after brewing pour over.. is it true for all flat burrs? It wasn’t like that with my comandante. And I wonder if it’s bec of the grind size or if it’s normal with flat burrs.

While they are technically espresso burrs, I find them to make very good pour over. The amount of fines is quite minimal. If you want the extra clean pour over I would get SSP Multi Purpose. It will be a lot cleaner if thats your thing.

Hello. Do you know when DF64V will come to Europe?

I do not. Should be in the US sooner than later so probably soon after

What is the meaning of rinsing the filter when you leave it in the mug 😅

I dump the water off video. I have to walk around my camera rig to the sink and it adds an annoying lull in the video.

I was expecting that the fines would be less with low RPM 😑

Burrs are espresso burrs designed for more body. If you want more clarity ssp unimodal are best
