Found your channel last night & im so thankful for the content. I had this epiphany of transitioning my music production to my iPad because I’m about to be a mum of two. It’s hard to let the music go because 8m a virtuoso but I’ve got to be able to find an easier way to work around having a toddler and newborn and I think this just might be it. I invested in an iPad 9th gen 64gb to get me started/warmed up. Once I get my feet wet I’ll look to upgrading.
I’m so glad I found your channel. I just received an iPad Pro for recording, you’ve answers so many queries that I had. I’m coming from using logic on a MacBook so hopefully this will be a smooth ttansition
Great video Joel..I came from logic on a Mac to iOS using gadget and cb3..as far as mixing gos I'm not sure what logic brings that cb3 don't .I think maybe you mean editing when you say mixing and yes cb3 lacks very much especially for vocals..but it can still get the job done...biggest plus for me is touch screen and app prices and expandability..favorite daw of all time is gadget
Editing is probably a better word. Trying to pick the right words for this video was actually challenging lol but I think I got the general idea across pretty well, and yes c3 can definitely gets the job done but it’s missing a few editing tools that would make a big difference.
@@JoelDodge in all fairness if I say I gotta mix a track..I mean editing also bro so no big deal .I just was a little confused if you actually meant "mixing" like as in volume adjustments on the mixer..I'm sure everybody gets what your saying bro no biggy
you know, i find that ios has headroom limitations when it comes to mixing. i export the same tracks and bring into logic and without changes to them the mix sounds clearer with more space in between the tracks. also logic on ios would be too cryptic. sidecar test...
Was also hoping for Logic Pro to come to the iPad, even a watered down version. Would make switching projects from iPad to Mac/ Mac to iPad so much easier.
Computer just has more tools and plugins available, so if you like being able to tweak everything it’s better. But I also think for a lot of people computers can make things too complicated to just enjoy making music. iPad simplifies a lot of things so it really depends on how much you like to tweak.
@@JoelDodge ok what do you think about taking advantage of both worlds like creating music, mixing and mastering by moving the files between ipad and computer using app like audio share, do you think it would work? so that the final product would be well polished and compete with professional audio in the market.
@@vcodev108 I think using both opens up a lot of possibilities, that’s what I’ve been doing the past few months. I don’t like transferring the files so much but it’s been nice using each for what they’re best at.
The iPad Pro M1 hardware wise is the same as a desktop computer. You can do everything on it as it is, given that you know what you’re doing. It’s better in terms of portability, ease of use, and interaction. I believe we will get some really good plugins and apps on the new architecture. There’s already some good stuff but you gotta dig for them. I think in the next few years, the iPad Pro will be be a music production dream device. To me it already is.

On that note..gadget needs a better mixer..it can't be sized and is fairly small even on a 12.9

Looks like your channel was all I needed! Cubasis is difficult? I currently use Reaper and wish I can do it on an iPad Pro!
Sorry for taking so long to reply, No that’s part of why I like it. It’s very easy to use
Well said...👍🏽
I have pretty well the same thoughts. I love the Ipad for recording guitars and bass (don’t sing).
Then I finish the project mixing in Logic Pro💉

Buenísimo garoto!
so you think as of now mixing and mastering audio on ipad is not as good as doing it on the computer?
