I have an idea, penguin. Tell Travis to try to make some of the achievements about speed. This is how it goes: Sayyou have to get a top speed of 90. Try to get a 90 WPM. Everyone has to get a 90+ WPM for that certain achievement. If you like this idea, tell an admin. (TBH I don't know how to contact an admin) lol
You make a really good point in this video. I think that this is the reason that many fast typists, leave nitro type and head to other typing websites (Type Racer, 10 Fast Fingers etc.) This is a massive problem that exists on this site. I remember that there used to be a title for fast racers, but it was removed. Botters always dominated the fastest racer leaderboards, and even if you were a very fast typer you didn't receive any credit for it. When typers like Sean Wrona leave nitro type and doesn't race on it, instead on other websites, that should be a red flag for Nitro Type. NT is a great website, and in fact is the best one that I can find, for improving your speed. I only wish they would celebrate that fact and embrace it whole-heartedly.
Thats the only problem i have with this is all the grinding. Like.. anything with a leaderboard will have some kind of competition. But when you're at home all day - thirty to fifty races Is probably enough for the day and you can do something else with your time. I've seen a lot of people that have found new hobbies and talents like many of the grinders on nitrotype could be doing.
I know, why are people getting recognition for having cool cars or playing the game 24/7, they should get more recognition by better speed or accuracy, TR isn't supposed to be competitive, TR has features that make it better than Nitro Type, Bremitorix when he made his video on TR made a good point
I got a brand new record on Nitro Type today... 139 wpm which is crazy! Also (the next race since I had just a high average wpm, I lost to the Wampus ;( sad )
yes I agree Peguin typer the reason why I decided to start NT was to beat my mom of typing speed and I never really was like I wanna be like that person cause they were active it was always speed or accuracy mainly accuracy for me because I think that accuracy is key for typing. anyways you are awesome great vid!
"Wildflower your my dad", made me laugh lmao but yeah I agree with your point, it's just pointless to spend 10 hours a day of racing, it's not going to get you anywhere, and if anybody wants to watch Tendons's video about how spending 20 hours a day racing impacted him and could impact people who spend 20 hours a day typing for 2 months
Typing is a rote skill, and repetition builds muscle memory. The more you type, the faster you type. Nitro Type makes learning this repetitive skill fun.
Nitro Type is more of a game than just some typing site to improve your speed and accuracy. I mean for those players who enjoy playing the game, grinding to get more races each day than to just get faster and better accuracy, let them be I guess. The site has always been about based on the rewards how many races you have done and you pretty much get rewarded with a KotR car or a title. For those who have reached a certain amount of races in a session, you get a session title like "Keyboard Cat, Nitro Type Master, Emperor/Empress, Typing Nightmare, and of course Typing Demon if you done 1800 in a session." I don't really see anything necessarily wrong about people playing Nitro Type to be able to get faster on typing or just to have better, high accuracy. But for those who play the site for fun and wanting to get more races just to be noticed on the leaderboards is a problem. I won't go any further to this. I mean they can do what they have to do to make themselves happy for playing and enjoying the game.
I've had my nitro type account since the end of 2014 and I was 10 back then. I only use nitro type for improvement. In the past week, I looked at the leaderboards and tried to make it up there. I only managed to make it in top 20 on the 24 hour leaderboards as a solo. I raced about 500 times in a session and it was terrible, I dont understand how people find it rewarding by grinding a typing website. I went from about 30-40wpm in 2014 to 110-120wpm in 2020.
Thank you Penguin, I was just beginning to get jealous but now I got a reason not to. And I have noticed that the super active ppl are actually slow. But ppl like Vielle who has done only like 30k since 2012, are the SUPER fast ones.
you are completely right about this, but what bothers me the most is that not only is the fastest typist on nitro type 249 wpm, but he is also a 16 year old however, no one cares that the fastest typist on the site out of millions of people isn't even an adult, and don't even know his real name but I think the reason that nitro type doesn't include speed is because people who can't get faster than a certain speed would be annoyed because they can't get the achievement, and then they would leave nitro type, but anyone can do thousands of races but we can't see that they entirely don't encourage speed, because you do get a reward for a new high speed
Teaching.com has done a great job with typing.com in encouraging speed and accuracy, but I think they take a different tactic with Nitro Type. While it's true that NT has become a big money maker, I think the point of the game is to encourage kids who wouldn't give a care about typing to actually start. If kids are rewarded for racing, they will continue racing and continue increasing their speed. I hope you have found my views insightful :)
While being active isn't the reason you should be playing a typing game, the people that have a lot of races are definitely legends for being able to even tolerate all those races. But yeah stuff for being fast and maybe accurate would be cool
I play the game for improvement. Total races is 1100 in 6 years. I tried being like leaderboard grinders and did 700 races in a week. Its tiring. Very tiring.
4:24 "Wild Flower Your My Dad"
I think back in 2018 there was an achievement for getting 100% accuracy for the first time.

Melanie, do you happen to know a Dale Jacobs, Robyn Jacobs, and Ann Jacobs?
They have achievements like that on 10fastfingers. Would love to see that in nitro type
@N, I do not know any of those people, sorry.
whats up guys its penguin typer
There was actually one speed related achievement call "Speed Racer." For having a WPM above 100. But its unachievable.
I love people who actually use the nitro type wiki
@@carson1638 lol i do that all the time

Simple answer from me before watching this, being first on the season gets 100x the attention of being first on speed hof.
Correct.
Hi titanium i am the guy that wants to race you😬😷😈👍😅

@@carson1638 i wrote like 2 paragraphs on that in another video but it got no likes or comments
not all of the attention is good, though
Totally agree!! I would love to see all of that!!
yay i just got a new compouter from my mom a 2016 macbook pro i used to have a 2009 imac and now im gonna pop off with this insane computer yay
If you go to the page about Nitro Type on its wiki, you can see, it *clearly* states it is used to improve speed.
I got a brand new record on Nitro Type today... 139 wpm which is crazy!

I find it hard to type for more than 2 hours, my fingers start to hurt and they start pressing random buttons that arent meant to be pressed

you should make a video checking out subscribers accounts and rating them, maybe racing them too

mandem said ideology poggers
I think it may be about races because of the hackers when it comes to speed
Nice video Penguin!
good job penguintyper
Yes. I want speed and accuracy achievements.
While being active isn't the reason you should be playing a typing game, the people that have a lot of races are definitely legends for being able to even tolerate all those races. But yeah stuff for being fast and maybe accurate would be cool
I strongly agree

Do you remember me I donated to your stream a while back
cause if you race a lot it shows your dedication to the game, though in the long run it's just stupid.
also very funny video
Nice vid
