Thank you for sharing your knowledge with clear, slower, instructions! Not acting like you have a fire to get to! My wife of 53 years and me are both in our 70’s and it seems all the other trouble shooting videos see how fast they can get through their explanations like they get extra points for it😩.
❤ Oh Thank you!!! I didn't know how I was going to do this. I'm not using fire stick. So I can't go in individually and clear out the cache on each individual app. Such as netflix. Which I did before when I had fire stick. My screen had a black background, is where we had arrived at. I knew it needed help! And I've been very sick. So I'm ever so grateful😊
Thanks for the tip! Got tired of reading the internet so came here instead for a video tutorial. Only thing I had to was get close to the tv for it to recognize the code I was 3-4 feet back.
Thank you Scott the first thing 5122 worked for my Remote, did everything you said and it works again. I almost gave up and was going to buy a new one.
Hi i have a Hisense Roku tv and was playing a game on my PS4 an out of nowhere my screen got really dim looking I've tried rebooting,an unplugging it, messing with the settings an nothing works I've had it for about 4 years an never really had any issues except it turned off on me once or twice for no reason but this is the first time my screen got really dim an i don't know why do you have any suggestions please?
The internet went out last night now it's working. My TV won't even go on the home screen it goes on a purple screen and then it wants you to input your password the internet so I do that and then it wants you to update I do that then it goes back on the first one and it just keeps wanting me to do the same thing over and over again
Watching a video on Amazon that I had previously viewed ok kept resulting in a stoppage at the same place in the video the 2nd time around on my roku device. Amazon just said try again later with no specific error. To me it seemed like a cache error as it always happened in the exact same place and hard rebooting and time passing had no affect on it. Not knowing about this keypad command I ran the "Check Network Connection" from the system menu in hopes that as part of the process it would clear the cache and it did. Problem solved, no reboot needed.
I was having no trouble accessing live TV with an HD antenna I have plugged in. Now when I click live tv it just goes to a blank (dark grey) screen. I have done the 5122 reset several times. Mine is a Hisense roku tv, and the streaming channels still work. Any suggestions?
I wish i had my old tv router because that router was better and it's not annoying buggy and being the router in the house that actually works with everything
Hey Scott, I think I'm subscriber # 154. So why aren't you doing some photography vlog posts or "how to" processing etc.? As you have noticed, the How To videos get the most views. Another good topic is problems you.ve had, like your dipstick one. The one where I lost my drone has had > 56K views, and the follow up ones on how to not find your lost drone had < 10% as many. Funny what attracts us UA-cam watchers. I was amazed when I posted one on installing a trailer hitch on my Jeep Cherokee and it got almost 17K views. My top one ever though was installing a solar panel on my 5th wheel travel trailer that hit over 1/4 million views. It's kind of fun, but people don't realize how much hard work it is. What video editing software are you using?
I looked at some of your videos but didn't see your top views. I try to do a video every time I have to fix something or make something. I think I have about 15 videos I need to finish and get posted. I'm amazed at your number of views. I'll have to try some more things. You also have a lot of subscribers. It was good to see you online today.
I forgot to mention I'm using the Openshot Video editor. It has some limitations and I need to look at finding a longer term solution that has better features.
@@create1631 I use Adobe Premiere Elements. Unlike Premiere Pro it is a purchase instead of subscription. I think I paid $99 for the first version I bought, but I did upgrade once, which cost me another $60 or $70. To be honest it has a lot more features than what you are currently using, but if you are looking to get a little more "fancy" with your videos it might be a good solution. Keep those videos coming. P.S. i got almost all those subscribers from my video about the solar power, so very few of them are the least bit interested in what I've been doing since then.
I have posted a video that shows how to delete streaming channels and how to move channels to be in the order you want. Hope this helps. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/peSA21FhvXE/v-deo.html
This should also work for black screens. It has for many people. Let me know if it doesn't.

I had a hard time connecting one of our TVs. It didn't bother my preset channels so I think you're safe. Lots of weird things happening with streaming services. I hope clearing the cache works for you. You may also want to see if your modem has other speeds and try one of them. My modem has a couple of 2.4ghz and two 5ghz. For me, the 5ghz speed seldom works very well and I have to use the 2.4ghz. You may also have a problem with anything else like a home phone that is also on the 2.4ghz speed. The TV and phone may be causing each other problems. I know our phone is also 2.4ghz and if it rings it sometimes causes issues with the streaming. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

1:21 if you been here before and just need the button combo
Show the back... Where you plug in the HDM1 CABLE PORT. THERE SRE 3 PORTS WHICH PNE IS THE HDM1
There are generally 2 or 3 HDMI ports. You can use your remote to change between them or just change the cable from one to the other to connect.
These quick fixes can get your TV going again quickly. Let me know your experiences using the tips. Enjoy!
there is always going into settings systems then power there is a system restart option in there.
